1 わが霊魂よヱホパをほめまつれ わが神ヱホバよなんぢは至大にして尊貴と稜威とを衣たまへり Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
2 なんぢ光をころものごとくにまとひ天を幕のごとくにはり Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
3 水のなかにおのれの殿の棟梁をおき 雲をおのれの車となし 風の翼にのりあるき Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
4 かぜを使者となし熖のいづる火を僕となしたまふ Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
5 ヱホバは地を基のうへにおきて 永遠にうごくことなからしめたまふ Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
6 衣にておほふがごとく大水にて地をおほひたまへり 水たたへて山のうへをこゆ Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
7 なんぢ叱咤すれば水しりぞき 汝いかづちの聲をはなてば水たちまち去ぬ At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
8 あるひは山にのぼり或ひは谷にくだりて 汝のさだめたまへる所にゆけり They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
9 なんぢ界をたてて之をこえしめず ふたたび地をおほふことなからしむ Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
10 ヱホバはいづみを谷にわきいだし給ふ その流は山のあひだにはしる He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.
11 かくて野のもろもろの獣にのましむ 野の驢馬もその渇をやむ They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.
12 空の鳥もそのほとりにすみ 樹梢の間よりさえづりうたふ By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.
13 ヱホバはその殿よりもろもろの山に灌漑たまふ 地はなんぢのみわざの實によりて飽足ぬ He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
14 ヱホバは草をはえしめて家畜にあたへ 田產をはえしめて人の使用にそなへたまふ かく地より食物をいだしたまふ He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
15 人のこころを歓ばしむる葡萄酒 ひとの顔をつややかならしむるあぶら 人のこころを強からしむる糧どもなり And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart.
16 ヱホバの樹とその植たまへるレバノンの香柏とは飽足ぬべし The trees of the Lord are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
17 鳥はそのなかに巣をつくり鶴は松をその棲とせり Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.
18 たかき山は山羊のすまひ磐石は山鼠のかくるる所なり The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.
19 ヱホバは月をつくりて時をつかさどらせたまへり 日はその西にいることをしる He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
20 なんぢ黑暗をつくりたまへば夜あり そのとき林のけものは皆しのびしのびに出きたる Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.
21 わかき獅ほえて餌をもとめ神にくひものをもとむ The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
22 日いづれば退きてその穴にふす The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
23 人はいでて工をとりその勤勞はゆふべにまでいたる Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
24 ヱホバよなんぢの事跡はいかに多なる これらは皆なんぢの智慧にてつくりたまへり 汝のもろもろの富は地にみつ O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
25 かしこに大なるひろき海あり そのなかに數しられぬ匍ふもの小なる大なる生るものあり So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.
26 舟そのうへをはしり汝のつくりたまへる鰐そのうちにあそびたはぶる There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.
27 彼ら皆なんぢを俟望む なんぢ宜時にくひものを之にあたへたまふ These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
28 彼等はなんぢの予へたまふ物をひろふ なんぢ手をひらきたまへばかれら嘉物にあきたりぬ That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.
29 なんぢ面をおほひたまへば彼等はあわてふためく 汝かれらの氣息をとりたまへばかれらは死て塵にかへる Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
30 なんぢ霊をいだしたまへば百物みな造らるなんぢ地のおもてを新にしたまふ Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
31 願くはヱホバの榮光とこしへにあらんことを ヱホバそのみわざを喜びたまはんことを The glory of the Lord shall endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works.
32 ヱホバ地をみたまへば地ふるひ山にふれたまへば山は煙をいだす He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.
33 生るかぎりはヱホバに向ひてうたひ 我ながらふるほどはわが神をほめうたはん I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34 ヱホバをおもふわが思念はたのしみ深からん われヱホバによりて喜ぶべし My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord.
35 罪人は地より絶滅され あしきものは復あらざるべし わが霊魂よヱホバをほめまつれヱホバを讃稱へよ Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the Lord, O my soul. Praise ye the Lord.
