| 1 | 我謂必謹我行、免舌干咎、惡人當前、必箝我口兮、 | I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. |
| 2 | 我緘默無言、善言亦不出口、我之憂痛、更迫切兮、 | I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred. |
| 3 | 我則熱衷、默想時火乃熾、遂鼓舌而言曰、 | My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue, |
| 4 | 耶和華歟、俾知我身之終、年壽幾何、致我自知荏弱兮、 | Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am. |
| 5 | 爾使我之年歲、數掌可量、我之壽算、在於爾前、若無有兮、世人穩立時、亦皆虛空兮、 | Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. |
| 6 | 世人行動乃虛幻、擾攘乃徒勞、積蓄貨財、不知誰取兮、 | Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them. |
| 7 | 主歟、我今奚俟、所望惟爾、 | And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. |
| 8 | 援我於愆尤、毋令我受愚人之辱兮、 | Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish. |
| 9 | 我默然緘口、以我所遇、乃爾所爲兮、 | I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it. |
| 10 | 爾之責罰、尚其免之、爾手搏擊、我則消滅兮、 | Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand. |
| 11 | 爾因罪而譴人、使其菁華消滅、如蠹之蝕、世人實爲虛空兮、 | When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah. |
| 12 | 耶和華歟、俯聞我祈求、垂聽我呼籲、我旣泣涕、爾勿緘默、我於爾前、爲外人、爲客旅、有如列祖兮、 | Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. |
| 13 | 求爾舍我、於我長往之先、俾我復振兮、 | O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more. |
