1	Meine Seele dürstet nach Gott EIN PSALM, VON DAVID, ALS ER IN DER WÜSTE JUDA WAR.	O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2	Gott, du bist mein Gott, dich suche ich, meine Seele dürstet nach dir. Mein Leib schmachtet nach dir im dürren Land, er lechzt nach Wasser, aber es ist keines da.	To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3	So halte ich Ausschau nach dir im Heiligtum. Ich will deine Kraft und Herrlichkeit erfahren.	Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
4	Ja, deine Güte bedeutet mir mehr als das Leben. Meine Lippen sollen dich loben.	Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
5	So will ich dich preisen mein Leben lang. Mit deinem Namen auf den Lippen erhebe ich meine Hände zum Gebet.	My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
6	Wie von Speise und Trank wird meine Seele satt. Lauter Jubellieder kommen von meinen Lippen.	When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7	Oft lag ich in meinem Bett und dachte an dich. Ich durchwachte Nächte und überlegte mir:	Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8	Du bist es gewesen, der mir geholfen hat! Im Schatten deiner Flügel preise ich dich.	My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
9	Meine Seele klammert sich an dich. Deine starke Hand hält mich fest.	But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
10	Doch diese Leute wollen mir grundlos ans Leben. In die Tiefen der Erde sollen sie hinabstürzen.	They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
11	Der Gewalt des Schwerts soll man sie ausliefern. Sie werden zur sicheren Beute für die Schakale.	But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
12	Aber der König darf sich freuen über Gott! Jeder darf sich rühmen, der bei ihm geschworen hat. Ja, endlich wird den Lügnern das Maul gestopft!	—
