1	Einkehr in die Stille FÜR DEN CHORLEITER, NACH DER MELODIE VON JEDUTUN. EIN PSALM, VON DAVID.	Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
2	Bei Gott schweigt meine Seele still. Von ihm kommt die Hilfe, die ich nötig habe!	He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
3	Nur er ist mein Fels und meine Rettung – meine feste Burg, sodass ich nicht wanke.	How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
4	Wie lange wollt ihr gegen einen allein anstürmen? Wollt ihr denn alle gegen ihn anrennen – wie gegen eine Hauswand, die sich schon neigt, wie gegen eine Stadtmauer, die gleich einstürzt?	They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
5	Sie planen, ihn aus seiner hohen Stellung zu stürzen. Wenn es dazu beiträgt, lügen sie gern. Mit dem Mund segnen sie, aber in ihrem Herzen fluchen sie. Sela.	My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
6	Bei Gott schweigt meine Seele still. Von ihm kommt die Hilfe, die ich nötig habe!	He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
7	Nur er ist mein Fels und meine Rettung – meine feste Burg, sodass ich nicht wanke.	In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
8	Auf Gott gründet sich meine Freiheit und Würde. Mein starker Fels ist er, meine Zuflucht ist bei Gott.	Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
9	Vertraut ihm zu jeder Zeit, ihr aus dem Volk! Schüttet euer Herz aus vor ihm, Gott ist unsere Zuflucht. Sela.	Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
10	Nur ein Hauch sind die Menschenkinder. Ein trügerisches Nichts sind die Sterblichen! Legt man sie auf eine Waage, schnellen sie hoch. Alle zusammen sind leichter als ein Hauch.	Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
11	Darum verlasst euch nicht auf erpresstes Gut. Gestohlene Habe wird euch nichts nützen. Wenn euer Wohlstand wächst, dann hängt euer Herz nicht daran!	God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
12	Eines hat Gott geredet, zwei Dinge habe ich gehört: Gott besitzt vollkommene Macht.	Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
13	Und du, mein Herr, bist voller Güte. Du ziehst jeden zur Rechenschaft für das, was er getan hat.	—
