| 1 | No Senhor confio; como dizeis á minha alma: Foge para a vossa montanha como passaro? | In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? |
| 2 | Pois eis que os impios armam o arco, põem as frechas na corda, para com ellas atirarem ás escuras aos rectos de coração. | For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. |
| 3 | Na verdade que já os fundamentos se transtornam: o que pode fazer o justo? | If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? |
| 4 | O Senhor está no seu sancto templo: o throno do Senhor está nos céus; os seus olhos attendem, e as suas palpebras provam os filhos dos homens. | The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. |
| 5 | O Senhor prova ao justo; porém ao impio e ao que ama a violencia aborrece a sua alma. | The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. |
| 6 | Sobre os impios fará chover laços, fogo, enxofre e vento tempestuoso: isto será a porção do seu copo | Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. |
| 7 | Porque o Senhor é justo, e ama a justiça; o seu rosto olha para os rectos. | For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright. |
