Jehovah, my heart hath not been haughty, Nor have mine eyes been high, Nor have I walked in great things, And in things too wonderful for me. | Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. |
| 2 | Have I not compared, and kept silent my soul, As a weaned one by its mother? As a weaned one by me is my soul. | Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. |
| 3 | Israel doth wait on Jehovah, From henceforth, and unto the age! | Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever. |
