| 1 | A Song of the Ascents. From depths I have called Thee, Jehovah. | Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord. |
| 2 | Lord, hearken to my voice, Thine ears are attentive to the voice of my supplications. | Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. |
| 3 | If iniquities Thou dost observe, O Lord, who doth stand? | If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? |
| 4 | But with Thee is forgiveness, that Thou mayest be feared. | But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. |
| 5 | I hoped for Jehovah--hoped hath my soul, And for His word I have waited. | I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. |
| 6 | My soul is for the Lord, More than those watching for morning, Watching for morning! | My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. |
