Save tru bilong wanpela man i mekim pes bilong em i lait tru, na pasin bilong i no pret bilong pes bilong em bai senis. | Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. |
| 2 | Mi givim tok helpim long yu long holimpas tok strong bilong king, na dispela long sait bilong strongpela promis bilong God. | I counsel thee to keep the king’s commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God. |
| 3 | No ken hariap long lusim hap ai bilong em i lukim. No ken sanap long wanpela samting nogut. Long wanem, em i mekim wanem samting i amamasim em yet. | Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him. |
| 4 | We tok bilong king i stap, i gat pawa i stap. Na husat i ken tokim em, Yu mekim wanem? | Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? |
| 5 | Husat man i holimpas tok strong bai i no inap pilim wanpela samting nogut. Na bel bilong saveman i klia tru long taim na kot wantaim. | Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man’s heart discerneth both time and judgment. |
| 6 | ¶ Bilong wanem, long olgeta wan wan as bilong wok i gat taim na kot, olsem na hevi nogut bilong man em i bikpela antap long em. | Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him. |
| 7 | Long wanem, em i no save long dispela samting bai kamap. Long wanem, husat i ken tokim em long wanem taim dispela bai kamap? | For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be? |
| 8 | I no gat wanpela man husat i gat pawa long bosim spirit bilong holim yet spirit. Na tu em i no gat pawa long de bilong dai. Na i no gat taim bilong lusim ami long dispela bikpela pait. Na tu pasin nogut bai i no inap kisim bek ol dispela husat i givim ol yet long en. | There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it. |

I gat taim we insait long en wanpela man i bosim narapela inap long bagarap bilong em yet. | All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt. |

Dispela tu em i samting nating. | And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity. |
| 11 | Bikos mekim save i birua long wok nogut i no kamap hariap, olsem na ol pikinini man bilong ol man i strongim bel olgeta insait long ol bilong mekim pasin nogut. | Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. |

Bilong wanem, em i no pret long ai bilong God. | But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God. |
| 14 | ¶ I gat wanpela samting nating, dispela ol i mekim long dispela graun, long i gat ol stretpela man, husat samting i kamap long ol i bilong bihainim pe bilong wok bilong ol man nogut. Na gen, i gat ol man nogut, husat ol samting i kamap long ol bilong i bihainim pe bilong wok bilong stretpela man. Mi tok long dispela tu em i samting nating. | There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity. |
| 15 | Nau mi tok pasin bilong wokim pani i gutpela, bilong wanem, wanpela man i no gat wanpela samting aninit long san i gutpela moa long kaikai, na long dring, na long stap amamas. Long wanem, dispela bai stap wantaim em bilong ol hatwok bilong em long ol de bilong laip bilong em, dispela God i givim em aninit long san. | Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun. |

Yes moa , maski wanpela saveman i tingting long save long en, yet bai em i no inap long painim dispela pinis. | Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it. |
