절King Jems Pisin BaibelKing James Version
¶ Gutpela nem i gutpela moa long wel i gat marasin i dia tumas. Na de bilong i dai long de mama i karim man. A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.
Em i mobeta long go long haus bilong soim sori, long go long haus bilong bikpela kaikai. Long wanem, dispela em i pinis bilong olgeta man. Na man i stap laip bai putim dispela long bel bilong em. It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
Bel i pilim hevi em i gutpela moa long pasin bilong lap. Long wanem, long sori bilong pes bel i kamap gutpela moa. Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
Bel bilong ol saveman i stap long haus bilong soim sori, tasol bel bilong ol krankiman i stap long haus bilong wokim pani. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
Em i mobeta long harim hatim bilong saveman, long wanpela man i harim song bilong ol krankiman. It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.
Long wanem, olsem nois bilong ol rop i gat nil taim ol i kuk long paia aninit long sospen, olsem tasol em lap bilong krankiman. Dispela tu em i samting nating. For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity.
¶ Tru tumas, pasin bilong givim hevi long narapela i mekim saveman longlong. Na wanpela presen i bagarapim bel olgeta. Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart.
Pinis bilong samting i gutpela moa long stat bilong en. Na man i sanap strong long traim long spirit sait em i gutpela moa long man i bikhet long spirit sait. Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
Yu no ken hariap insait long spirit bilong yu long kamap belhat. Long wanem, belhat i slip long bros bilong ol krankiman. Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
Yu no ken tok, Wanem em i as long ol de bilong bipo i gutpela moa long dispela nau? Long wanem, yu no yusim save tru taim yu askim long sait bilong dispela. Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.
¶ Save tru em i gutpela wantaim wanpela samting papa i givim pikinini. Na long dispela i gat helpim long ol lain husat i lukim san. Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.
Long wanem, save tru em i samting bilong lukautim nem, na mani em i samting bilong lukautim nem. Tasol gutpela samting olgeta bilong save em i olsem, long save tru i givim laip long ol husat i gat dispela. For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
Tingim na skelim wok bilong God. Long wanem, husat i ken mekim samting i kamap stretpela, dispela Em i bin mekim krungut? Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?
Long de bilong gutpela sindaun stap amamas tru, tasol long de bilong kain kain hevi tingim na skelim. God tu i bin putim wanpela i pas klostu long arapela, inap long dispela as, long man i no ken lukim wanpela samting bihain long em. In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him.
Olgeta samting mi bin lukim long ol de bilong samting nating bilong mi. I gat wanpela stretpela man husat i dai olgeta insait long stretpela pasin bilong em, na i gat wanpela man nogut husat i mekim laip bilong em i stap longpela taim insait long pasin nogut bilong em. All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness.
Yu no ken stap stretpela antap long mak. Na tu yu no ken mekim yu yet i gat tumas save tru. Bilong wanem na yu ken bagarapim yu yet olgeta? Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?
Yu no ken stap nogut antap long mak, na tu yu no ken stap kranki. Bilong wanem na yu ken dai bipo long taim bilong yu? Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?
Em i gutpela long yu ken holimpas dispela. Yes, yu no ken surikim han bilong yu long dispela tu. Long wanem, man husat i pret long God bai kam ausait long ol olgeta. It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all.
Save tru i strongim ol saveman moa long tenpela strongpela man husat i stap long biktaun. Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.
Long wanem, i no gat wanpela stretpela man long dispela graun, husat i mekim gutpela pasin, na i no mekim sin. For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
Na tu yu no ken putim ia long olgeta dispela toktok ol i toktok. Nogut yu harim wokboi bilong yu i tok nogut long yu. Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee:
Long wanem, planti taim tu bel bilong yu yet i save long yu yet i bin tok nogut long ol arapela wankain olsem. For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.
¶ Olgeta dispela samting mi bin pruvim wantaim save tru. Mi tok, Mi bai stap saveman. Tasol dispela i stap longwe long mi. All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.
Dispela samting i stap longwe, na i dip planti moa yet, husat inap long painimaut dispela? That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out?
Mi givim strong bel bilong mi long save, na long painim tru, na long painimaut save tru, na as bilong ol samting, na long save long pasin nogut bilong kranki pasin, yes, longlong pasin na tingting i longlong. I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:
Na mi lukim samting i pait moa long i dai em i dispela meri, husat bel bilong em em i ol trap na ol umben, na tupela han bilong em i olsem ol baklain i holim. Husat i amamasim God bai ranawe long em. Tasol em bai kisim sinman. And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.
Lukim, dispela mi bin lukim, man bilong autim tok i tok, taim mi kaunim wan wan, bilong painimaut namba bilong en. Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:
Tewel bilong mi i wok long painim dispela yet, tasol mi no lukim. Wanpela man namel long 1,000 mi bin lukim. Tasol wanpela meri namel long olgeta dispela mi no bin lukim. Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
Harim, dispela tasol mi bin lukim, long God i bin wokim man i stretpela. Tasol ol i bin painim tru planti samting man i kamapim. Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
