|---|---|---|
¶ Ol toktok bilong king Lemyuel, dispela tok profet mama bilong em i skulim em long en. | The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
Wanem samting, pikinini man bilong mi? Na wanem samting, pikinini man bilong bel bilong mi? Na wanem samting, pikinini man bilong ol strongpela promis bilong mi? | What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
No ken givim strong bilong yu long ol meri, o ol rot bilong yu long dispela samting i bagarapim ol king olgeta. | Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
Em i no bilong ol king, O Lemyuel, em i no bilong ol king bilong dring wain, o ol hetman strongpela dring. | It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
Nogut ol i dring, na ol i lusim tingting long lo, na ol i paulim kot bilong wanpela man i kisim hevi. | Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
Givim strongpela dring long em husat i redi long dai, na wain long ol husat ol bel bilong ol i hevi. | Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.
Larim em dring, na lusim tingting long rabisman pasin bilong em, na em i no ken holim tingting long ol hevi bilong em moa. | Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
Opim maus bilong yu long sait bilong mauspas long wari bilong olgeta kain man husat ol i makim bilong kisim bagarap olgeta. | Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.
Opim maus bilong yu, jasim stretpela, na toktok wantaim strongpela askim long sait bilong wari bilong rabisman na man i gat nid. | Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.
¶ Husat i ken painim pinis meri bilong gutpela pasin? Long wanem, pe bilong em i antap longwe tru long pe bilong ol rubi. | Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Bel bilong man bilong em i bilip long em na i stap gut, inap long em bai i no gat nid long kisim kago bilong pait. | The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
Meri bai mekim gut long em, na i no nogut, olgeta de bilong laip bilong em. | She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
Em i painim gras bilong sipsip, na flaks, na mekim wok wantaim laik bilong bel wantaim tupela han bilong en. | She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
Em i olsem ol sip bilong ol bisnisman. Em i bringim kaikai bilong em long longwe ples. | She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
Em i kirap tu taim em i nait yet, na givim kaikai long ol wanhaus bilong en, na wanpela hap skel long ol yangpela meri bilong en. | She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
Em i tingim na skelim wanpela ples kunai, na baim dispela. Wantaim kaikai bilong tupela han bilong en, em i planim gaden wain. | She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
Strong em i pasim long bel bilong em olsem laplap, na em i strongim tupela han bilong en. | She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
Em i kisim save long kago bilong em i gutpela. Kandel bilong em i no save dai long nait. | She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
Em i putim tupela han bilong em long spindel, na tupela han bilong em i holim distap. | She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
Em i opim han bilong en i go ausait long ol rabisman. Yes, em i stretim ol han bilong en i go ausait long helpim ol man i gat nid. | She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
Em i no pret long ais long wanhaus bilong em. Long wanem, olgeta wanhaus bilong em i pasim klos skalet. | She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
Em i wokim bilong em yet ol laplap i gat naispela piksa na kala. Ol klos bilong em i silka na purpelpela. | She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
Ol i save long man bilong em long ol dua bilong banis, taim em i sindaun namel long ol lapun hetman bilong dispela hap. | Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
Em i wokim naispela laplap, na salim dispela. Na em i kisim ol bikpela let i go long bisnisman. | She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Strong na ona em ol klos bilong en. Na em bai wokim amamas tru long taim i laik kamap. | Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
Em i opim maus bilong em wantaim save tru. Na lo bilong mekim gut i stap long tang bilong em. | She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
Em i lukluk gut long ol rot bilong ol wanhaus bilong em, na em i no save kaikai bret bilong les pasin. | She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Ol pikinini bilong em i kirap, na kolim em meri i gat blesing. Man bilong em tu, na em i litimapim nem bilong em. | Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Planti pikinini meri i bin mekim gutpela pasin, tasol yu winim ol olgeta. | Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Gutpela amamas em i samting bilong giaman, na naispela pes tru em i samting nating. Tasol meri husat i pret long BIKPELA, ol bai litimapim nem bilong em. | Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
Givim em kaikai bilong tupela han bilong em. Na larim ol wok bilong em yet i litimapim nem bilong em long ol dua bilong banis. | Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
