| 절 | King Jems Pisin Baibel | King James Version |
|---|---|---|
¶ Olsem ais long taim bilong biksan na ren long taim bilong kamautim kaikai, olsem tasol ona i no gutpela samting bilong krankiman. | As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
¶ Olsem pisin i raun nating, olsem swalo i flai, olsem tasol tok nogut i no gat as bilong en bai i no inap kamap. | As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
¶ Wip em bilong hos, na baklain bilong stiaim bilong donki, na kanda em bilong baksait bilong krankiman. | A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back.
¶ No ken bekim tok long krankiman bilong bihainim longlong pasin bilong em, nogut yu tu i kamap wankain olsem em. | Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
Bekim tok long krankiman bilong bihainim longlong pasin bilong em, nogut em i stap saveman long hambak tingting bilong em yet. | Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
¶ Em husat i salim toksave long han bilong krankiman i katim na rausim ol fut na dringim pasin bilong bagarap. | He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
Ol lek bilong lek nogut i no wankain. Tok piksa long maus bilong ol krankiman em i olsem tasol. | The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
Olsem em husat i pasim strong ston long katapel, em husat i givim ona long krankiman em i olsem tasol. | As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.
Olsem nil i go insait long han bilong man i spak, tok piksa long maus bilong ol krankiman em i olsem tasol. | As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
¶ Bikpela God husat i wokim olgeta samting i givim pe long krankiman, na Em i givim pe long man i kalapim lo wantaim. | The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
¶ Olsem dok i go bek long traut bilong em, olsem tasol krankiman i go bek long longlong pasin bilong em. | As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
¶ Yu lukim man i stap saveman long hambak tingting bilong em yet? I gat hop moa long krankiman long dispela man. | Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
¶ Lesman i tok, Laion i stap long rot. Laion i stap long ol rot. | The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.
¶ Olsem dua i tanim long hinsis bilong en, olsem tasol lesman i tanim long bet bilong en. | As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.
¶ Lesman i haitim han bilong en long bros bilong em. Em i bagarapim bel bilong em long bringim dispela gen long maus bilong em. | The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.
¶ Lesman i gat save tru moa long hambak tingting bilong em yet long sevenpela man husat i ken givim as tingting. | The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
¶ Em husat i wokabaut klostu, na i go insait long pait i no bilong em, em i olsem wanpela husat i holim dok long tupela ia bilong en. | He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
¶ Olsem longlong man husat i tromoi ol stik i gat paia, ol spia, na dai, | As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,
Olsem tasol em man husat i giamanim man i stap klostu long em, na tok, Ating mi no pilai tasol? | So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?
¶ Long ples i no gat paiawut, paia i dai. Olsem tasol long ples i no gat man bilong karim stori, pait i dai. | Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
Olsem sakol long ol sakol i kuk, na paiawut long paia, olsem tasol man bilong pait i kirapim pait. | As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.
Ol toktok bilong man bilong karim stori i olsem ol bagarap, na ol i go daun insait long ol insait hap bilong bel. | The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
¶ Maus i paia na bel i nogut ol i olsem wanpela hap sospen graun i bruk i gat pipia bilong silva i karamapim em. | Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.
¶ Em husat i no laikim tru narapela i save giaman long maus bilong em, na holim pasin giaman insait long em. | He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;
Taim em i mekim naispela tok, no ken bilipim em. Long wanem, i gat sevenpela sting samting i stap long bel bilong em. | When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.
Husat man pasin bilong i no laikim tru i karamapim long pasin giaman, ol bai soim pasin nogut bilong em long ai bilong bung bilong ol manmeri olgeta. | Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.
¶ Husat man i digim bikpela hul bai pundaun long en. Na em husat i tantanim ston i go, dispela bai kam bek antap long em. | Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
¶ Tang bilong giaman i no laikim tru ol man husat i kisim hevi long en. Na maus i tok gris i wok long bagarapim samting. | A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
