|---|---|---|
¶ Bel bilong king i stap long han bilong BIKPELA, olsem ol riva bilong wara. Em i tanim dispela i go long wanem hap Em i laikim. | The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
¶ Olgeta wan wan rot bilong man em i stretpela long ai bilong em yet. Tasol BIKPELA i tingim na skelim ol bel. | Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
¶ Pasin bilong mekim stretpela kot na kot i orait moa long ai bilong BIKPELA long sakrifais. | To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
¶ Pes i litimapim man yet, na bel i hambak, na wok bilong man nogut long brukim graun, em i sin. | An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
¶ Ol tingting bilong ol man i wok strong i wok long kamapim planti samting tasol. Tasol ol tingting bilong olgeta wan wan husat i hariap tumas, ol i mekim em i sot long samting tasol. | The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
¶ Pasin bilong kisim ol samting i dia tru long tang bilong giaman em i wanpela samting nating i kam i go nabaut bilong ol husat i painim dai. | The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
¶ Pasin stil bilong ol man nogut bai bagarapim ol olgeta. Bilong wanem, ol i tok nogat long mekim pasin bilong jasim. | The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.
¶ Rot bilong man em bikhet na narakain. Tasol long sait bilong man i klin, wok bilong em i stretpela. | The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.
¶ Em i mobeta long stap long wanpela kona antap long haus, long stap wantaim meri bilong pait insait long haus i gat bikpela brait. | It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
¶ Tewel bilong man nogut i laikim pasin nogut. Man i stap klostu long em i no painim pinis gutpela amamas long ai bilong em. | The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
¶ Taim man bilong tok bilas i kisim mekim save, man i no gat save i kamap saveman. Na taim saveman i kisim tok skul, em i kisim save. | When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
¶ Wantaim save tru, stretpela man i tingim na skelim haus bilong man nogut. Tasol God i bagarapim ol man nogut long pasin nogut bilong ol. | The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
¶ Husat man i pasim tupela ia bilong em long krai bilong rabisman, em yet tu bai krai, tasol ol bai i no inap harim em. | Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
¶ Presen man i givim hait i mekim belhat i go kol. Na pe i kam long bros bilong man i daunim bikpela belhat tru. | A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.
¶ Em i amamas tru bilong ol stretpela man long mekim pasin bilong jasim. Tasol bagarap olgeta bai stap long ol wokman bilong sin nogut. | It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
¶ Man husat i raun nating na lusim rot bilong gutpela save bai stap yet namel long bung bilong ol manmeri i dai pinis. | The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
¶ Em husat i laikim tru pasin bilong amamasim bel bai stap rabisman. Em husat i laikim tru wain na wel bai i no inap stap maniman. | He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
¶ Man nogut bai stap pe bilong baim bek ol stretpela man, na man bilong kalapim lo bilong stretpela pasin. | The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
¶ Em i mobeta long stap long ples i no gat man, long stap wantaim wanpela meri bilong pait na belhat. | It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
¶ I gat samting i dia tru man i ken laikim, na wel, long ples bilong stap bilong saveman. Tasol krankiman i tromoim dispela i go. | There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
¶ Em husat i bihainim stretpela pasin na sori i painim pinis laip, na stretpela pasin, na ona. | He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
¶ Saveman i kalapim banis bilong biktaun bilong ol strongpela man, na tromoi i go daun strongpela bilip long en. | A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
¶ Husat man i holimpas maus bilong em na tang bilong em i holimpas tewel bilong em long ol hevi. | Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
¶ Hambak man na man bilong tok bilas na tingim em yet i nambawan em i nem bilong em, husat i mekim wok long hambak belhat pasin tru. | Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.
¶ Laik bilong lesman i kilim em. Long wanem, tupela han bilong em i tok nogat long hatwok. | The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
Em i mangal wantaim gridi pasin long olgeta hap bilong de. Tasol stretpela man i givim na em i no holim bek. | He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
¶ Sakrifais bilong man nogut i sting samting. Hamas moa, taim em i bringim dispela wantaim tingting i nogut? | The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
¶ Giaman witnes bai dai. Tasol man husat i harim i toktok olgeta taim. | A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
¶ Man nogut i mekim pes bilong em strong. Tasol long sait bilong stretpela man, em i stiaim rot bilong em. | A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
¶ I no gat save tru o gutpela save o tok helpim i birua long BIKPELA. | There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.
Ol i redim hos long de bilong pait, tasol pasin bilong stap gut i kam long BIKPELA. | The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.
