¶ Singaut nau, sapos i gat wanpela husat bai bekim yu. Na bilong husat bilong ol seint bai yu tanim i go long em? | Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
Long wanem, belhat tru i kilim i dai krankiman, na pasin mangal i kilim i dai man husat i no yusim save. | For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
Mi bin lukim ol krankiman i putim rop daunbilo. Tasol wantu mi toknogutim ples em i stap. | I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
Ol pikinini bilong em i stap longwe long stap orait, na ol i krungutim ol long dua bilong banis, na tu i no gat wanpela bilong kisim bek ol. | His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.
Husat ol kamautim bilong ol ol man i hangre i kaikai olgeta, na kisim dispela, yes, ausait long ol nil, na raskol stilman i daunim kago bilong ol olsem kaikai. | Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.
¶ Maski ol hevi i no kam ausait long das, o trabel i no sut i kam ausait long graun tu, | Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
Yet mama i karim man bilong go long trabel, olsem ol spak bilong paia i flai i go antap. | Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
Mi gat laik long painim God, na mi gat laik long putim wari bilong mi long han bilong God, | I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:
Husat i mekim ol bikpela samting na samting yumi i no inap painimaut tru, ol samting i mekim ol man tingting planti i no gat namba bilong ol, | Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:
Husat i givim ren antap long dispela graun, na salim ol wara antap long ol ples kunai, | Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
Bilong sanapim antap ol husat i stap daunbilo, inap long ol husat i soim sori, God i ken litimapim ol long stap orait. | To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.
Em i mekim ol plen bilong ol trikman i no kamap, inap long ol han bilong ol i no inap wokim ol wok bilong ol. | He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
Em i kisim ol saveman long ol trik bilong ol. Na tok helpim ol bikhet man i givim ol i oraitim taim ol i no tingting gut pastaim. | He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
Ol i bung wantaim tudak long taim bilong san, na painim painim rot long belo stret olsem ol i stap long nait. | They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.
Tasol Em i kisim bek rabisman long bainat, long maus bilong ol, na long han bilong strongpela man. | But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
Olsem na rabisman i gat hop, na sin nogut i pasim maus bilong em yet. | So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
¶ Lukim, amamas i stap long man husat God i stretim. Olsem na yu no ken tingim olsem stikim bilong Man i Gat Olgeta Strong em i samting nating. | Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
Long wanem, Em i mekim pen i kamap, na pasim dispela gut. Em i bagarapim, na ol han bilong Em i mekim i orait olgeta. | For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
Em bai kisim bek yu long sikispela trabel. Yes, long sevenpela bai i no gat samting nogut i ken tasim yu. | He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
Long taim hangre Em bai baim bek yu long dai, na long bikpela pait, long pawa bilong bainat. | In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
Yu bai stap hait long wip bilong tang. Na tu yu no inap pretim bagarap olgeta taim dispela i kam. | Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
Long taim bilong bagarap olgeta na taim hangre yu bai lap. Na tu bai yu no inap pret long ol animal bilong dispela graun. | At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
Long wanem, yu bai gat kontrak bilong bel isi wantaim ol ston bilong ples kunai. Na ol animal bilong ples kunai bai stap bel isi wantaim yu. | For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
Na yu bai save long haus holi bilong yu bai stap long bel isi. Na yu bai go lukim ples bilong stap bilong yu, na yu no bai sin. | And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
Yu bai save tu long tumbuna pikinini bilong yu bai stap bikpela, na ol pikinini i kamaut long yu bai stap olsem gras bilong dispela graun. | Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.
Yu bai kam long matmat bilong yu wantaim ol krismas i pulap, olsem wanpela han bilong wit samting i kam insait long taim bilong en. | Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.
Harim dispela, mipela i bin painimaut tru dispela, olsem tasol em i stap. Harim dispela, na yu save long en bilong helpim yu. | Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
