¶ Yu save long taim ol wail meme bilong ston i karim? O ating yu inap long luksave long taim ol haind i karim pikinini? | Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?
Ating yu inap long kaunim ol mun ol i inapim? O yu save long taim ol i karim? | Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
Ol i lindaunim ol yet, ol i karim ol yangpela bilong ol, ol i tromoi i go ol bel hevi bilong ol. | They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.
Ol yangpela bilong ol i luk naispela, ol i go bikpela wantaim wit samting. Ol i go ausait, na ol i no kam bek long ol. | Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn; they go forth, and return not unto them.
Husat i bin salim wail donki i go fri ausait? O husat i bin lusim ol baklain bilong holim bilong wail donki, | Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?
Husat haus bilong em Mi bin mekim ples i no gat man, na ol hap bilong em long stap graun i no gat samting? | Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.
Em i tok bilas bilong semim planti manmeri tru bilong biktaun, na tu em i no tingim gut krai bilong man bilong ran antap long donki. | He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.
Hap bilong ol maunten em i ples gras bilong em, na em i painim tru i bihainim olgeta wan wan samting i grinpela. | The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.
Ating wail abus i gat wanpela kom bai i gat laik long wokim wok wokboi bilong yu, o stap klostu long haus animal bilong yu? | Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
Ating yu ken pasim wail abus i gat wanpela kom wantaim baklain bilong holim bilong em long ples bilong digim gaden? O ating em bai brukbrukim ol hap graun bilong gaden long ol ples daun bihain long yu? | Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
Ating yu bai putim bilip long em, bikos strong bilong em i bikpela? O ating yu bai lusim olgeta hatwok bilong yu long han bilong em? | Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?
Ating yu bai bilipim em, long em bai bringim pikinini kaikai bilong yu long haus, na bungim dispela i go insait long bakstua bilong yu? | Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?
¶ Yu bin givim ol nambawan wing i go long ol pikok, o ol wing na gras i go long ostaris? | Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
Husat i lusim ol kiau bilong em long graun, na hatim ol liklik long das, | Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,
Na lusim tingting long fut i ken krungutim ol, o long wail animal i ken brukim ol. | And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.
Bel bilong em i olsem ston i birua long ol yangpela bilong em, olsem ol i no bilong em. Hatwok bilong em i samting nating na i no gat pret. | She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;
Bilong wanem, God i bin tekewe save tru long em, na tu Em i no bin givim gutpela save i go long em. | Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
Wanem taim em i litimapim em yet antap, em i tok bilas bilong semim hos na man bilong ran long em. | What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.
¶ Ating yu bin givim strong long hos? Ating yu bin putim klos long nek bilong em wantaim klaut i pairap? | Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?
Yu inap long mekim em pret olsem wanpela grasop? Glori bilong tupela hul bilong nus bilong em em samting bilong mekim man i pret nogut tru. | Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.
Em i paitim graun long ples daun, na em i wokim amamas tru long strong bilong em. Em i go bilong bungim ol man i gat ol samting bilong pait. | He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.
Em i wokim pani long daunim pasin pret, na em i no pret. Na tu em i no tanim bek na lusim bainat. | He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.
Paus bilong spia i wokim nois pas klostu long em, spia bilong tromoi i lait lait nabaut na plang. | The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.
Em i daunim graun olgeta wantaim strongpela pasin na belhat nogut tru. Na tu em i no bilip long dispela em i nois bilong biugel. | He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.
Em i tok namel long ol biugel, Ha, ha. Na em i smelim pait longwe tru, dispela bikpela pairap bilong ol kepten, na dispela singaut. | He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
¶ Ating hawk i flai long save tru bilong yu, na stretim tupela wing bilong em i go ausait long hap saut? | Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
Ating igal i go antap long tok strong bilong yu, na wokim haus pisin bilong em antap? | Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
Em i stap na stap yet antap long ston, antap long dispela ston antap i bruk, na dispela strongpela ples. | She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.
Long dispela ples em i painim abus, na tupela ai bilong em i lukim longwe tru. | From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.
Ol yangpela bilong em tu i pulim blut wantaim maus. Na we ol lain ol i kilim i dai i stap, long dispela hap em i stap. | Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.
