¶ Bilong wanem, taim yumi luksave olsem ol taim i no stap hait long Man i Gat Olgeta Strong, ol husat i save long Em i no lukim ol de bilong Em? | Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?
Sampela i rausim ol mak bilong graun. Ol i tekewe ol lain sipsip, na ol kaikai bilong ol, wantaim pasin pait. | Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.
Ol i ranim i go donki bilong ol pikinini i no gat papa. Ol i kisim bulmakau man bilong meri man bilong em i dai pinis long mak bilong promis. | They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow’s ox for a pledge.
Ol i tanim ol man i gat nid i go ausait long rot. Ol rabisman bilong dispela graun i haitim ol yet wantaim. | They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.
Lukim, olsem ol wail donki bilong ples i no gat man, ol i go ausait long wok bilong ol. Ol i kirap hariap bilong wanpela prais bilong pait. Ples i no gat man i givim kaikai long ol na long ol pikinini bilong ol. | Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.
Ol i kamautim, olgeta wan wan, wit samting bilong em long bikpela gaden. Na ol i bungim ol nambawan hap pikinini wain bilong ol man nogut. | They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.
Ol i mekim ol man i skin nating long slip olsem taim ol i no gat klos, inap long ol i no gat samting bilong karamapim ol long taim kol. | They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold.
Ol i kamap wet wantaim ol ren bilong ol maunten, na ol i holimpas ston bikos ol i sot tru long wanpela ples bilong hait. | They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.
Ol i pulim ol pikinini i no gat papa i lusim bros, na kisim mak bilong promis bilong ol rabisman. | They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor.
Ol i mekim em long go skin nating na i no gat klos, na ol i tekewe mekpas long man i hangre, | They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;
Husat i wokim wel insait long ol banis bilong ol, na krungutim ol ples bilong krungutim wain bilong ol, na karim pen long nekdrai. | Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.
Ol man i wokim krai bilong pen i kam ausait long biktaun, na tewel bilong ol man i kisim bagarap i krai antap. Tasol God i no makim longlong pasin long ol. | Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.
¶ Ol i bilong ol husat i bikhet i birua long lait. Ol i no save long ol rot bilong en, o stap long ol liklik rot bilong en. | They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.
Man bilong kilim man i dai i kirap wantaim lait bilong kilim i dai rabisman na man i gat nid, na long nait em i olsem wanpela stilman. | The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.
Ai tu bilong man bilong bagarapim marit long pamuk pasin i wetim taim tudak i kamap, i spik, I no gat ai bai lukim mi. Na em i senisim pes bilong em. | The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.
Long tudak ol i digim i go namel long ol haus, dispela ol i bin makim bilong ol yet long san. Ol i no save long lait. | In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.
Long wanem, moning i stap long ol, yes, olsem tewel bilong dai. Sapos wanpela i save long ol, ol i stap long ol pret nogut tru bilong tewel bilong dai. | For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.
¶ Em i hariap olsem ol wara. Hap skel bilong ol i stap aninit long kot long dispela graun. Em i no lukim rot bilong ol gaden wain. | He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.
Taim drai na hat i kaikai olgeta ol wara bilong ais. Olsem tasol matmat i mekim long ol husat i bin mekim sin. | Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.
Bel bilong mama bai lusim tingting long em. Liklik snek bai kaikai switpela long em. Ol man i no inap holim tingting moa long em. Na pasin nogut bai bruk olsem wanpela diwai. | The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.
Em i askim nogut long meri husat i no inap karim pikinini. Na em i no mekim gut long meri man bilong em i dai pinis. | He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.
Em i pulim tu strongpela man wantaim pawa bilong em. Em i kirap, na i no gat man i save tru long laip bai i stap. | He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
Maski God i makim long em i ken stap orait, we em i malolo long en, yet ol ai bilong Em i stap long ol rot bilong ol. | Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.
Ol man i givim biknem long ol liklik taim tasol, tasol ol i go na God i bringim ol i go daunbilo. God bai rausim ol ausait long rot olsem olgeta arapela, na katim ol i go olsem ol antap bilong ol ia bilong wit samting. | They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.
Na sapos em i no stap olsem nau, husat bai mekim mi wanpela man bilong giaman, na mekim toktok bilong mi samting nating? | And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
