¶ Nau man Timan Elifas i bekim na tok, | Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
Ating wanpela man i ken helpim God, olsem man husat i saveman i ken helpim em yet? | Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?
Ating em i wanpela samting bilong amamasim Man i Gat Olgeta Strong long yu stap stretpela? O ating em i mobeta long Em long yu mekim ol rot bilong yu i stap inap tru? | Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?
Ating Em bai krosim yu bikos Em i pret long yu? Ating Em bai go wantaim yu insait long kot? | Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?
¶ Ating i yes long sin nogut bilong yu i bikpela? Na ating i yes long ol sin nogut bilong yu i no gat namba bilong en? | Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?
Long wanem, yu bin kisim wanpela mak bilong promis long brata bilong yu nating, na rausim bilong ol man i skin nating ol klos bilong ol. | For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
Yu no bin givim wara long dring long ol lain i les tru, na yu bin holim bek kaikai long ol lain i hangre. | Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
Tasol long sait bilong strongpela man, em i bin holim dispela graun. Na man i gat ona i bin stap long en. | But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
Yu bin salim ol meri man bilong ol i dai pinis i go emti, na ol han bilong ol pikinini i no gat papa yu bin brukim. | Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
Olsem na ol trap i stap raun nabaut long yu, na pret wantu i givim wari long bel bilong yu, | Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
O tudak, inap long yu no inap long lukim. Na planti moa yet bilong ol wara i karamapim yu. | Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
Ating i yes long God i stap long dispela antap bilong heven? Na lukim dispela antap bilong ol sta, ol i antap inap long hamas! | Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
Na yu tok, God i save olsem wanem? Ating Em i ken jasim namel long klaut i tudak? | And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
Ol patpela klaut i stap wanpela karamap long Em, inap long Em i no inap lukim. Na Em i wokabaut long raun bilong heven. | Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
¶ Ating yu bin makim dispela rot bilong bipo ol man nogut i bin wokabaut long en? | Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
Husat God i katim i go daun ausait long taim, husat wanpela tait i karamapim olgeta ol as ston bilong ol, | Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
Husat i tokim God, Lusim mipela. Na Man i Gat Olgeta Strong i ken mekim wanem bilong helpim ol? | Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
Yet Em i pulimapim ol haus bilong ol wantaim ol gutpela samting. Tasol tok helpim ol man nogut i givim i longwe long mi. | Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
Ol stretpela man i lukim dispela, na ol i amamas. Na ol man i no bin mekim rong i lap long ol inap long sem bilong tok bilas. | The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
We i olsem kago bilong mipela i no bagarap olgeta, tasol hap lain i stap yet bilong ol, paia i kaikai olgeta. | Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
¶ Yu yet mas kisim save nau long Em, na stap long bel isi. Long dispela, gutpela samting bai kam antap long yu. | Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
Kisim, mi askim yu plis, lo long maus bilong Em, na bungim i stap ol toktok bilong Em insait long bel bilong yu. | Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
Sapos yu go bek long Man i Gat Olgeta Strong, Em bai wokim yu i go antap, na yu bai rausim i go ol sin nogut longwe long ol haus holi bilong yu. | If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
Nau bai yu bungim i stap gol olsem das, na gol bilong Ofir olsem ol ston bilong ol liklik wara. | Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
Yes, Man i Gat Olgeta Strong bai stap helpim bilong yu long pait, na yu bai gat planti silva. | Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
Long wanem, nau bai yu gat amamas bilong yu insait long Man i Gat Olgeta Strong, na yu bai litimapim pes bilong yu i go long God. | For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
Yu bai mekim prea bilong yu i go long Em, na Em bai harim yu, na yu bai baim ol strongpela promis bilong yu. | Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
Yu bai tokaut strong tu long wanpela samting, na Em bai strongim dispela i go long yu. Na lait bai lait antap long ol rot bilong yu. | Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
Taim God i tromoi ol man i go daun, nau bai yu tok, I gat rot bilong litimapim. Na Em bai kisim bek man bilong daunim em yet. | When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
Em bai kisim bek ailan bilong man i no bin mekim rong. Na God bai kisim bek dispela wantaim ol han bilong yu i klin. | He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
