¶ Nau Jop i bekim na tok, | Then Job answered and said,
Inap long wanem taim bai yupela givim hevi long tewel bilong mi, na brukim mi long planti hap hap wantaim ol toktok? | How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
Dispela tenpela taim yupela bin givim sem long mi. Yupela i no sem long yupela mekim yupela yet i kamap narakain long mi. | These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.
Na sapos em i tru long mi bin lusim rot, rong bilong mi i stap yet wantaim mi yet. | And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
Sapos em i tru yupela laik litimapim yupela yet i birua long mi, na wantaim sem bilong mi yupela i toktok wantaim strongpela askim i birua long mi, | If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
Save nau long God i bin tromoi mi i go daun, na Em i bin raunim mi wantaim umben bilong Em. | Know now that God hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.
Lukim, mi singaut long rong, tasol i no gat wanpela i harim mi. Mi krai strong, tasol i no gat kot. | Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.
¶ Em i bin banisim rot bilong mi inap long mi no ken go, na Em i bin putim tudak long ol liklik rot bilong mi. | He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.
Em i bin rausim ol glori bilong mi long mi, na rausim hat king i lusim het bilong mi. | He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
Em i bin bagarapim mi olgeta long olgeta wan wan sait, na mi go pinis. Na hop bilong mi Em i bin rausim olsem wanpela diwai. | He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.
Em i bin kirapim tu paia bilong belhat tru bilong Em i birua long mi, na Em i kaunim mi long Em olsem wanpela bilong ol birua bilong Em. | He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.
Ol liklik ami bilong Em i kam wantaim, na kirapim rot bilong ol i birua long mi, na wokim kem raun nabaut long haus holi bilong mi. | His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.
Em i bin putim ol brata bilong mi longwe long mi, na ol man mi save, tru tumas, ol i go longwe long mi. | He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.
Ol kandre bilong mi i bin fel, na ol pren klostu bilong mi i bin lusim tingting long mi. | My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
Ol husat i stap long haus bilong mi, na ol wokmeri bilong mi, i kaunim mi olsem wanpela ausait man. Mi stap wanpela man bilong longwe ples long ai bilong ol. | They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
Mi singaut long wokboi bilong mi, na em i no bekim tok long mi. Mi mekim strongpela askim wantaim maus bilong mi. | I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.
Win bilong maus bilong mi i narakain samting long meri bilong mi, maski mi bin mekim strongpela askim bilong helpim ol pikinini bilong bodi bilong mi yet. | My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children’s sake of mine own body.
Yes, ol yangpela pikinini i tingim olsem mi samting nating. Mi kirap, na ol i toktok birua long mi. | Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.
Olgeta pren i stap klostu tru bilong mi i ting olsem mi sting olgeta. Na ol husat mi bin laikim tru i tanim na birua long mi. | All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
Ol bun bilong mi i pas strong long skin bilong mi na long mit bilong mi, na mi ranawe wantaim skin bilong ol tit bilong mi tasol. | My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
Soim sori long mi, soim sori long mi, O yupela ol pren bilong mi. Long wanem, han bilong God i bin tasim mi. | Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
Bilong wanem yupela i givim hevi long mi olsem God, na yupela i no ting em inap tru long bodi bilong mi i tasol? | Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
¶ O sapos ol toktok bilong mi ol i raitim nau! O sapos ol i raitim ol long wanpela buk! | Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
O sapos ol i raitim wantaim wanpela ingpen ain na led long ston oltaim oltaim! | That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!
Long wanem, mi save long Man bilong baim mi i stap laip, na long Em bai sanap antap long dispela graun long de bihain. | For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
Na maski bihain long skin bilong mi ol liklik snek i bagarapim dispela bodi olgeta, yet long bodi bilong mi bai mi lukim God. | And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:
Husat mi bai lukim bilong mi yet, na tupela ai bilong mi bai lukim, na i no narapela, maski ol i kaikai ol stia bilong bel bilong mi olgeta insait long mi. | Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.
Tasol yupela mas tok, Bilong wanem mipela givim hevi long em, taim mipela i luksave olsem as bilong samting i stap insait long mi? | But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?
Yupela mas pret long bainat. Long wanem, belhat tru i bringim ol mekim save bilong bainat, inap long yupela ken save long i gat wanpela kot i stap. | Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
