¶ Na Jop i bekim na tok, | And Job answered and said,
I mas tru olgeta, yupela em dispela lain stret tasol, na save tru bai dai wantaim yupela. | No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
Tasol mi gat gutpela save wankain olsem yupela, mi no aninit long yupela. Yes, husat i no save long ol kain samting olsem ol dispela? | But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?
Mi stap olsem wanpela husat ol man i stap klostu long em i wokim pani bilong daunim em, husat i singaut long God, tasol Em i no bekim em. Ol i lap long stretpela gutpela man inap long sem bilong tok bilas. | I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.
Man husat ol lek bilong em i redi long wel na pundaun em i olsem wanpela lam man husat i stap isi i tingim olsem i samting nating. | He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.
¶ Ol haus holi bilong ol raskol stilman i kamap gutpela, na ol husat i skrapim bel bilong God i stap gut tru, ol husat God i bringim planti moa yet i go long han bilong ol. | The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
Tasol askim nau ol animal, na ol bai skulim yu. Na askim ol pisin bilong skai, na ol bai tokim yu. | But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:
O toktok long dispela graun, na em bai skulim yu. Na ol pis bilong biksi bai tokaut long yu. | Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
Husat i no save long olgeta dispela samting, long han bilong BIKPELA i bin wokim dispela? | Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this?
Long han bilong husat tewel bilong olgeta wan wan samting i stap laip i stap, na win bilong olgeta manmeri. | In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
Ating i yes long ia i traim ol toktok, na maus i testim kaikai bilong en? | Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?
¶ Wantaim dispela Lapun Tru save tru i stap. Na gutpela save i stap long bikpela namba bilong ol de. | With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.
Wantaim Em save tru na strong i stap, Em i gat tok helpim bilong givim na gutpela save. | With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.
Lukim, Em i brukim i go daun, na ol i no inap wokim gen. Em i pasim i stap wanpela man, na i no gat rot bilong opim. | Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
Lukim, Em i pasim bek ol wara, na ol i go drai. Na tu Em i salim ol i go ausait, na ol i kapsaitim dispela graun. | Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
Wantaim Em strong na save tru i stap. Man ol i giamanim na man bilong giaman i bilong Em. | With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.
Em i stiaim i go ol man bilong givim tok helpim na kago bilong ol i lus, na Em i mekim ol jas i kamap ol krankiman. | He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.
Em i lusim hankap bilong ol king, na pasim ol namel bilong bel bilong ol wantaim wanpela bikpela let. | He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
Em i stiaim i go ol hetman na kago bilong ol i lus, na Em i tromoi i go daun ol strongpela man. | He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.
Em i rausim i go ol toktok bilong ol man yu ken putim bilip long ol, na tekewe dispela gutpela save bilong ol lapun tru. | He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.
Em i kapsaitim bikpela sem antap long ol hetman, na mekim ol strongpela man long lusim strong. | He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.
Em i soim ples klia ol samting i dip tru ausait long tudak, na bringim i kam ausait lait dispela tewel bilong dai. | He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
Em i mekim ol kantri i kamap planti moa, na bagarapim ol olgeta. Em i mekim ol kantri i go traipela, na mekim ol i pas klostu tumas gen. | He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.
Em i tekewe bel bilong ol nambawan hetman bilong ol manmeri bilong dispela graun, na mekim ol long raun nating long wanpela ples i no gat man, we i no gat rot. | He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
Ol i painim painim rot long tudak taim i no gat lait, na Em i mekim ol long wokabaut kranki olsem wanpela spakman. | They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
