¶ Na moa tu yu kisim i go antap wanpela krai sori bilong ol hetman bilong Isrel. | Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
Na tok, Mama bilong yu em i wanem samting? Em i wanpela laion meri. Em i slip namel long ol laion, em i givim kaikai long ol pikinini bilong em namel long ol yangpela laion. | And say, What is thy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.
Na em i lukautim wanpela pikinini bilong em inap em i bikpela. Em i kamap wanpela yangpela laion, na em i kisim skul long kisim abus. Em i kaikai olgeta ol man. | And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.
Ol kantri tu i harim stori bilong em. Ol i kisim em long bikpela hul bilong ol, na ol i bringim em wantaim ol sen i go long hap bilong Isip. | The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.
Nau taim meri i luksave long em i bin wet, na hop bilong em i lus, nau em i kisim narapela pikinini bilong em, na mekim em i kamap wanpela yangpela laion. | Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.
Na em i go antap na go daun namel long ol laion. Em i kamap wanpela yangpela laion, na kisim skul long kisim abus, na em i kaikai olgeta ol man. | And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.
Na em i save long ol haus king bilong ol i stap nating olgeta, na em i mekim i stap pipia ol biktaun bilong ol. Na dispela hap i stap nating olgeta, na olgeta samting i pulap long en, long nois bilong bikpela krai bilong em. | And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fulness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.
Nau ol kantri i strongim ol yet i birua long em long olgeta wan wan sait long ol provins, na opim umben bilong ol antap long em. Ol i kisim em long bikpela hul bilong ol. | Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.
Na ol i putim em long ples wasman long ol sen, na bringim em long king bilong Babilon. Ol i bringim em long ol kalabus, inap long ol man i no ken harim nek bilong em moa antap long ol maunten bilong Isrel. | And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
¶ Mama bilong yu i olsem wanpela rop wain insait long blut bilong yu, ol i planim klostu long ol wara. Em i karim planti kaikai na em i pulap long ol han bikos planti wara i stap. | Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
Na em i gat ol strongpela stik bilong stap ol stik bilong king bilong ol husat i bosim ol man, na antap bilong em i go antap namel long ol patpela han bilong diwai, na em i kamap ples klia long longpela bilong em i go antap wantaim ol planti han tru bilong em. | And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
Tasol ol i kamautim em wantaim belhat nogut tru, ol i tromoi em i go daun long graun, na is win i mekim kaikai bilong em i drai. Ol strongpela stik bilong em i bruk na i go drai olgeta. Paia i kaikai ol olgeta. | But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
Na nau ol i planim em pinis long ples i no gat man, long wanpela graun i drai na i sot long wara. | And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.
Na paia i kamaut long stik bilong ol han bilong em, dispela i bin kaikai olgeta ol kaikai bilong em, inap long em i no gat wanpela strongpela stik bilong stap wanpela stik diwai bilong king bilong bosim ol man. Dispela em i wanpela krai sori, na bai stap bilong wanpela krai sori. | And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.
