| 2 | Yupela i gat wanem mining, long yupela i yusim dispela provep long sait bilong hap bilong Isrel, i spik, Ol papa i bin kaikai ol pikinini wain i pait, na ol tit bilong ol pikinini i skirap? | What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge? |
| 3 | Olsem Mi stap laip, GOD Bikpela i tok, yupela bai i no inap gat taim bilong yusim dispela provep moa liklik insait long Isrel. | As I live, saith the Lord God, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. |
| 4 | Lukim, olgeta tewel i bilong Mi. Olsem tewel bilong papa, olsem tu tewel bilong pikinini man i bilong Mi. Tewel husat i mekim sin, em bai dai. | Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. |

| 7 | Na em i no bin mekim wanpela long kisim taim, tasol em i bin givim bek mak bilong promis bilong man i gat dinau, em i no bin kisim ol kago long wanpela long pasin pait, em i bin givim kaikai long man i hangre, na em i bin karamapim man i skin nating wantaim wanpela klos, | And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment; |
| 8 | Man husat i no bin givim dinau long kisim winmani, na tu em i no bin kisim wanpela winmani, husat i bin surikim han bilong em long ol sin nogut, em i bin mekim kot tru tru namel long man na man, | He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man, |

| 11 | Na husat i no mekim wanpela bilong ol dispela wok stret bilong em, tasol yes, em i bin kaikai antap long ol maunten, na mekim doti meri bilong man i stap klostu long em, | And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour’s wife, |
| 12 | Em i bin mekim ol rabisman na ol man i gat nid i kisim taim, em i bin kisim ol kago long pasin pait, em i no bin givim bek mak bilong promis, na em i bin litimapim tupela ai bilong em long ol piksa bilong god giaman, em i bin mekim sting pasin, | Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination, |
| 13 | Em i bin givim ol dinau long kisim winmani, na em i bin kisim winmani, em bai stap laip nau? Em bai i no inap i stap laip. Em i bin mekim olgeta dispela sting pasin. Tru tumas, em bai dai. Blut bilong em bai stap antap long em. | Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him. |

| 18 | Long sait bilong papa bilong em, bikos em i mekim man i kisim taim wantaim pasin nogut tru, kisim ol kago bilong brata bilong em long pasin pait, na mekim dispela samting i no gutpela namel long ol lain bilong em, harim, yes, em bai dai long ol sin nogut bilong em. | As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity. |

Taim pikinini man i bin mekim dispela samting i bihainim lo na i stretpela, na em i bin holimpas olgeta lo bilong Mi Mi raitim, na em i bin mekim ol, tru tumas, em bai stap laip. | Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. |

The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. |

| 24 | Tasol taim stretpela man i tanim na lusim ol stretpela pasin bilong em, na mekim sin nogut, na mekim bilong bihainim olgeta sting pasin dispela man nogut i mekim, bai em stap laip? Olgeta stretpela pasin bilong em, dispela em i bin mekim, ol man bai i no inap kolim liklik. Long pasin bilong em bilong sakim lo, dispela em i bin mekim, na long ol sin bilong em, dispela sin em i bin mekim, insait long ol em bai dai. | But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. |

Ating i yes long ol pasin bilong yupela i no wanmak stret? | Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? |
| 26 | Taim wanpela stretpela man i tanim na lusim ol stretpela pasin bilong em, na mekim sin nogut, na dai insait long ol, long ol sin nogut bilong em, dispela em i bin mekim, em bai dai. | When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. |
| 27 | Na gen, taim man nogut i tanim na lusim pasin nogut bilong em, dispela em i bin mekim, na em i mekim dispela samting i bihainim lo na i stretpela, em bai kisim bek tewel bilong em i stap laip. | Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. |
| 28 | Bilong wanem, em i tingim na skelim na tanim na lusim olgeta pasin bilong em bilong kalapim lo, dispela em i bin mekim, tru tumas, em bai stap laip, em bai i no inap dai. | Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. |
| 29 | Yet hauslain bilong Isrel i tok, Pasin bilong Bikpela i no wanmak stret. O hauslain bilong Isrel, ating i yes long ol pasin bilong Mi wanmak stret? Ating i yes long ol pasin bilong yupela i no wanmak stret? | Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? |
| 30 | ¶ Olsem na Mi bai jasim yupela, O hauslain bilong Isrel, olgeta wan wan bilong bihainim ol pasin bilong em, GOD Bikpela i tok. Tanim bel, na tanim yupela yet long olgeta pasin bilong yupela long kalapim lo, inap long ol sin nogut bilong yupela bai i no inap stap bagarap olgeta bilong yupela. | Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. |

Long wanem, bilong wanem yupela i laik dai, O hauslain bilong Isrel? | Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? |
| 32 | Long wanem, Mi no gat amamas long dai bilong man husat i dai, GOD Bikpela i tok. Olsem na tanim yupela yet, na yupela i ken stap laip. | For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. |
