¶ O givim tenkyu long BIKPELA, long wanem, Em i gutpela. Long wanem, sori bilong Em i stap strong yet oltaim oltaim. | O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Ol man BIKPELA i bin baim bek, ol i mas tokaut long dispela. Em ol man Em i bin baim bek long han bilong birua. | Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
Na Em i bin bungim ol i kam long ol hap graun, long hap sankamap, na long hap san i go daun, na long not, na long saut. | And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
Ol i bin wokabaut raun long ples i no gat man, olsem ol man i stap wanpis. Ol i no bin lukim wanpela biktaun bilong sindaun i stap long en. | They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
Ol i hangre na i hangre long wara. Tewel bilong ol i bin hap i dai insait long ol. | Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
Orait, ol i singaut long BIKPELA long hevi bilong ol. Na Em i tekewe ol long ol hevi bilong ol. | Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
Na Em i go pas long ol long stretpela rot, bai ol i ken go long wanpela biktaun bilong sindaun i stap long en. | And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
O, i gutpela long ol man i litimapim BIKPELA bilong ol gutpela pasin bilong Em na bilong ol wok i save winim tingting Em i mekim long ol pikinini bilong ol man! | Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Long wanem Em inapim tewel i hangre long kisim. Na Em i save pulapim tewel i hangre long gutpela pasin. | For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
¶ Em i mekim olsem long kain man i sindaun long tudak na long tewel bilong i dai pinis, ol dispela man i stap kalabus long pen na ain. | Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;
Long wanem ol i bin sakim ol tok bilong God na tok bilas long tok helpim bilong dispela wanpela i Antap olgeta. | Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
Olsem na Em i bin daunim bel bilong ol long hatwok. Ol i bin pundaun, na i no gat wanpela man bilong helpim ol. | Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.
Orait, taim ol i gat hevi, ol i singaut long BIKPELA. Na Em i kisim bek ol long ol hevi bilong ol. | Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
Em i bringim ol i lusim tudak na tewel bilong i dai pinis. Na Em i brukim long liklik hap ol sen bilong ol. | He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.
O, i gutpela long ol man i litimapim BIKPELA bilong ol gutpela pasin bilong Em na bilong ol bikpela wok i save winim tingting Em i mekim long ol pikinini bilong ol man! | Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Long wanem Em i bin brukim ol dua bras bilong banis na katim ol ba ain long liklik hap. | For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
¶ Ol krankiman i karim hevi, long wanem ol i kalapim lo na bikos ol i bihainim ol sin nogut. | Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
Tewel bilong ol i no laikim tru olgeta kain kaikai. Na ol i kam klostu long ol dua bilong banis bilong i dai pinis. | Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.
Orait, taim ol i gat hevi, ol i singaut long BIKPELA. Na Em i kisim bek ol long ol hevi bilong ol. | Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.
Em i salim tok bilong Em i kam na oraitim ol. Na Em i tekewe ol long ol bagarap bilong ol. | He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
O, i gutpela long ol man i litimapim nem bilong BIKPELA bilong ol gutpela pasin bilong Em na bilong ol bikpela wok i save winim tingting Em i mekim long ol pikinini bilong ol man! | Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Na ol i ken sakrifaisim ol sakrifais bilong givim tenkyu. Na ol i ken amamas tru na tokaut long ol wok bilong Em. | And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
¶ Ol man i go daun long solwara long ol sip na ol i wok bisnis long ol bikpela wara, | They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
Ol dispela man i save lukim ol wok bilong BIKPELA na ol bikpela wok bilong Em i winim tingting na i stap long ples solwara i daunbilo tru. | These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.
Long wanem Em i save tok strong na kirapim traipela win na win i litimapim ol si bilong solwara. | For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
Ol i go antap inap long heven. Ol i go daun gen long ol ples i daunbilo. Tewel bilong ol i kamap olsem wara, long wanem, hevi i stap. | They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
Ol i go i kam, na wokabaut longlong olsem spakman. Na ol i no inap mekim narapela samting. | They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.
Bihain, taim ol i gat hevi, ol i singaut long BIKPELA. Na Em i bringim ol i lusim ol hevi bilong ol. | Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
Em i mekim strongpela win i kamap isi, olsem na ol biksi bilong en i stap isi. | He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Nau ol i belgut, long wanem ol i stap isi. Na Em i bringim ol i kam long pasis ol i laik i go long en. | Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Ol i ken litimapim Em tu long bung bilong ol manmeri. Na ol i ken litimapim Em long bung bilong ol lapun hetman. | Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
¶ Em i save tanim ol riva i kamap ples i no gat man, na ol as wara i kamap graun i drai. | He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;
Na Em i tanim hap graun i save karim planti kaikai i kamap hap i no karim kaikai. Long wanem ol man i sindaun i stap long en ol i save bihainim pasin i nogut tru. | A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
Em i save tanim ples i no gat man i kamap raunwara, na graun i drai i kamap ol as wara. | He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.
Na Em i mekim ol man i hangre i sindaun i stap long dispela hap, bai ol i ken redim wanpela biktaun bilong sindaun i stap long en. | And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;
Na ol i ken planim ol gaden na planim ol gaden wain. Na ol dispela i ken karim planti kaikai. | And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
Em i save blesim ol tu, olsem na ol i kamap planti moa yet. Na Em i no larim ol bulmakau samting bilong ol i kamap liklik lain. | He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
Gen, ol man i mekim ol i kamap liklik lain na ol i daunim ol long hevi na pen na bel sori. | Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.
Em i save kapsaitim sem antap long ol hetman, na i mekim ol i wokabaut raun long ples i no gat man, long ples i no gat rot. | He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
Tasol Em i putim ol rabisman long ples antap i lusim hevi, na Em i mekim ol famili bilong em i olsem lain sipsip. | Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.
Ol stretpela man bai i lukim dispela na amamas tru. Na olgeta sin nogut bai pasim maus bilong en. | The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
Wanem man i gat save tru, na i laik lukautim bilong bihainim ol dispela samting, yes ol dispela man bai save gut long pasin bilong BIKPELA long laikim tru man na mekim gut long em. | Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.
