¶ Yupela i mas litimapim BIKPELA. O, givim tenkyu long BIKPELA. Long wanem Em i gutpela. Long wanem, sori bilong Em i stap strong yet oltaim oltaim. | Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Husat i ken tokaut long ol strongpela wok bilong BIKPELA? Husat inap tokaut long olgeta biknem bilong Em? | Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise?
Blesing i stap long ol man i holimpas long stretpela kot na long man i mekim stretpela pasin olgeta taim. | Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.
O BIKPELA, Yu mas tingim gen mi long pilim bilong laikim Yu bin karim i go long ol manmeri bilong Yu. Yu mas lukautim mi long kisim bek bilong Yu. | Remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;
Olsem na mi ken lukim lain Yu bin makim em i stap gut. Na bai mi ken amamas long pasin belgut bilong kantri bilong Yu. Na bai mi ken glori wantaim lain manmeri Papa i bin givim Yu. | That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.
¶ Mipela i bin mekim sin wantaim ol papa bilong mipela. Mipela i bin mekim sin nogut. Mipela i bin mekim pasin i nogut tru. | We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
Ol tumbuna papa bilong mipela i no bin save gut long ol wok i save winim tingting Yu bin mekim long Isip. Ol i no bin tingim gen ol sori bilong Yu i planti tru. Tasol ol i bin kirapim belhat bilong Em long solwara, yes, long Retsi. | Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.
Tasol Em i bin kisim bek ol bilong litimapim nem bilong En, bai Em i ken mekim ol manmeri i save long strongpela pawa bilong En. | Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
Em i bin hatim Retsi tu, na em i kamap drai. Olsem na Em i go pas long ol long ol ples daunbilo olsem long ples i no gat man. | He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
Na Em i bin kisim bek ol long han bilong man i no laikim tru ol na baim bek ol long han bilong birua. | And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
Na ol wara i karamapim ol birua bilong ol. I no gat wanpela bilong ol i stap moa. | And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
Nau ol i bilipim ol tok bilong Em. Ol i bin singim song long biknem bilong Em. | Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.
¶ Kwiktaim ol i lusim tingting long ol wok bilong Em. Ol i no bin wet bilong kisim tok helpim bilong Em, nogat. | They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:
Tasol long ples i no gat man, bel bilong ol i kirap planti tumas, na long ples wesan ol i bin traim God. | But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
Na samting ol i bin askim, Em i bin givim ol. Tasol Em i salim pasin bilong i stap bun nating i go long tewel bilong ol. | And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
Long kem ol i bin mangal tu long Moses wantaim Aron, dispela seint bilong BIKPELA. | They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the Lord.
Graun i bin op na daunim Detan na i bin karamapim lain manmeri bilong Abiram. | The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
Na paia i lait namel long lain manmeri bilong ol. Paia i bin kukim ol man i nogut tru. | And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
Long Horep ol i bin wokim pikinini bulmakau na lotuim dispela piksa ol i wokim long paia i kukim gol. | They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
Long dispela ol i bin senisim glori bilong ol na mekim i kamap olsem bulmakau i save kaikai gras. | Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
Ol i bin lusim tingting long God, Peman bilong kisim bek ol, Em i bin mekim ol bikpela samting long Isip, | They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;
Na ol wok i antap tumas long hap graun bilong Ham, na ol samting bilong pretim man klostu long Retsi. | Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.
Olsem na Em i bin tok, Em i laik bagarapim ol. Tasol Moses, man Em i bin makim, em i sanap long pes bilong Em namel long Em na ol manmeri, bilong tanim belhat tru bilong Em i go. Nogut Em i bagarapim ol. | Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.
Yes, ol i bin tingim dispela naispela hap graun em i samting nating. Ol i no bin bilipim tok bilong Em, nogat. | Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:
Tasol long ol haus sel bilong ol, ol i bin tok baksait. Na ol i no bin harim gut nek bilong BIKPELA. | But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord.
Olsem na Em i litimapim han bilong En na birua long ol bilong bagarapim ol long ples i no gat man, | Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
Na bilong bagarapim ol tumbuna pikinini bilong ol tu namel long ol kantri, na bilong rausim ol i go nabaut long ol hap graun. | To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
Ol i bin pasim ol yet wantaim Beal-pior. Na ol i bin kaikai ol ofa bilong ol daiman. | They joined themselves also unto Baal–peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
Olsem na ol i bin kirapim belhat bilong Em long ol samting ol i kamapim. Na bikpela sik i bin i kamap namel long ol. | Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.
Orait Finias i sanap na i wokim stretpela kot. Olsem na dispela bikpela sik i pinis. | Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.
Na God i makim dispela olsem stretpela pasin long nem bilong em i go long olgeta lain manmeri bilong em i kamap bihain inap long oltaim oltaim. | And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.
Long ol wara bilong tok pait tu ol i bin mekim Em i belhat. Olsem na nogut i kamap long Moses long pasin bilong ol. | They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:
Long wanem ol i bin kirapim spirit bilong em, olsem long maus bilong en, em i bin mekim toktok i kam long belhat. | Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.
¶ Ol i no bin bagarapim olgeta ol kantri, em ol lain God i bin tok strong long ol long bagarapim. | They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the Lord commanded them:
Tasol ol i bin abusim ol yet wantaim ol haiden na kisim save long ol wok bilong ol. | But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
Na ol i bin mekim wok long ol god giaman bilong ol. Na ol dispela god giaman i bin stap wanpela umben bilong pasim ol. | And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.
Yes, ol i bin sakrifaisim ol pikinini man bilong ol na ol pikinini meri bilong ol long ol spirit nogut. | Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,
Na ol i kapsaitim blut i no bin mekim rong, yes blut bilong ol pikinini man bilong ol na ol pikinini meri bilong ol, ol i bin sakrifaisim ol long ol god giaman bilong Kenan. Na long dispela blut, ol i mekim dispela graun i kamap doti. | And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
Long dispela ol i bin kamap doti long ol wok bilong ol yet. Na ol i bin pamuk wantaim ol samting ol yet i kamapim. | Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.
Olsem na belhat tru bilong BIKPELA i bin paia long ol manmeri bilong Em, inap long Em i tingim lain manmeri Papa i bin givim Em yet ol i sting tru. | Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
Na Em i bin givim ol long han bilong ol haiden. Na ol man i no laikim tru ol, ol i bosim ol. | And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
Ol birua bilong ol i bin givim hevi long ol tu. Na ol i daunim ol aninit long han bilong ol. | Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
Planti taim Em i bin kisim bek ol. Tasol ol i bin kirapim Em long tok helpim bilong ol. Na Em i bin daunim ol, long wanem ol i mekim sin nogut. | Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.
Tasol Em i bin lukim hevi bilong ol, taim Em i harim krai bilong ol. | Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
Na Em i tingim gen kontrak bilong En bilong helpim ol, na Em i tanim bel bilong bihainim ol sori bilong Em i planti tru. | And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
Na tu ol man i bin karim ol i go kalabus, Em i bin mekim ol i sori long ol. | He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.
O BIKPELA na God bilong mipela, Yu mas kisim bek mipela, na bungim mipela long lusim hap i namel long ol haiden, long mipela i ken givim tok tenkyu long nem holi bilong Yu na amamas bikmaus long biknem bilong Yu. | Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
Blesing i stap long BIKPELA, em God bilong Israel, i stat long oltaim oltaim na i go long oltaim oltaim. Na olgeta manmeri i tok, Amen. Yupela litimapim nem bilong BIKPELA. | Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.
