¶ Na em i kamap olsem bihain long dispela, long Apsalam, pikinini man bilong Devit, i gat wanpela naispela susa, husat nem bilong en em Temar. Na Amnon, pikinini man bilong Devit, i laikim em tru. And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.
Na bel bilong Amnon i kisim hevi tru olsem, inap long em i sik taim em i tingim susa bilong em Temar. Long wanem, em i wanpela meri i no bin slip wantaim man. Na Amnon em i ting em hat tumas long em i ken mekim wanpela samting long em. And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.
Tasol Amnon i gat wanpela pren, husat nem bilong en em Jonadap, pikinini man bilong Simea, brata bilong Devit. Na Jonadap em i wanpela man tingting bilong em i antap tumas tru. But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.
Na em i tokim em, Bilong wanem, taim yu stap pikinini man bilong king, yu wok long go bun nating olgeta wan wan de? Yu no laik tokim mi? Na Amnon i tokim em, Mi laikim tru Temar, susa bilong brata bilong mi Absalom. And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king’s son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.
Na Jonadap i tokim em, Yu slipim bodi long bet bilong yu, na mekim yu yet i kamap sik. Na taim papa bilong yu i kam long lukim yu, tokim em, Mi askim yu plis, larim susa bilong mi Temar i kam, na givim kaikai long mi, na redim kaikai long ai bilong mi, inap long mi ken lukim dispela, na kaikai dispela long han bilong em. And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.
Olsem tasol Amnon i slipim bodi, na mekim em yet i kamap sik. Na taim king i kam long lukim em, Amnon i tokim king, Mi askim yu plis, larim susa bilong mi Temar i kam, na wokim long mi tupela kek long ai bilong mi, inap long mi ken kaikai long han bilong em. So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.
Nau Devit i salim tok long ples long Temar, i spik, Go nau long haus bilong brata bilong yu Amnon, na redim kaikai long em. Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Amnon’s house, and dress him meat.
Olsem tasol Temar i go long haus bilong brata bilong em Amnon, Na man i bin slipim bodi. Na meri i kisim plaua, na wokwokim dispela, na wokim ol kek long ai bilong em, na em i bin kukim ol kek. So Tamar went to her brother Amnon’s house; and he was laid down. And she took flour, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and did bake the cakes.
Na em i kisim wanpela sospen, na kapsaitim ol i kam ausait long ai bilong em. Tasol em i tok nogat long kaikai. Na Amnon i tok, Rausim olgeta man i lusim mi i go ausait. Na olgeta wan wan man i lusim em i go ausait. And she took a pan, and poured them out before him; but he refused to eat. And Amnon said, Have out all men from me. And they went out every man from him.
Na Amnon i tokim Temar, Bringim kaikai i kam insait long rum, inap long mi ken kaikai long han bilong yu. Na Temar i kisim ol dispela kek em i bin wokim, na bringim ol i kam insait long rum long Amnon, brata bilong em. And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother.
Na taim meri i bin bringim ol long em long kaikai, em i holimpas meri, na tokim em, Kam slip wantaim mi, susa bilong mi. And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.
Na em i bekim tok long em, Nogat, brata bilong mi, yu no ken bagarapim mi. Long wanem, i nogat kain samting i sapos long kamap insait long Isrel. Yu no ken mekim dispela longlong pasin. And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me; for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.
Na mi, mi bai mekim sem bilong mi long go we? Na long sait bilong yu, yu bai stap olsem wanpela bilong ol krankiman insait long Isrel. Olsem na nau, mi askim yu plis, toktok long king. Long wanem, em bai i no inap holim bek mi long yu. And I, whither shall I cause my shame to go? and as for thee, thou shalt be as one of the fools in Israel. Now therefore, I pray thee, speak unto the king; for he will not withhold me from thee.
Tasol em no gat laik long harim long nek bilong em. Tasol, taim em i strongpela moa long em, em i bagarapim em, na slip wantaim em. Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her.
Nau Amnon i hetim em planti moa yet, inap long dispela pasin bilong hetim em, we em i hetim em long en, i bikpela moa long dispela pasim bilong laikim em tru we em i bin laikim em tru long en. Na Amnon i tokim em, Kirap, go olgeta. Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone.
Na meri i tokim em, I no gat as bilong dispela. Dispela pasin nogut bilong salim mi i go i bikpela moa long dispela arapela samting yu mekim long mi. Tasol em i no laik harim long em. And she said unto him, There is no cause: this evil in sending me away is greater than the other that thou didst unto me. But he would not hearken unto her.
Nau em i singautim wokboi bilong em husat i wokim wok long em, na tok, Putim nau dispela meri ausait i lusim mi, na lokim dua bihain long em. Then he called his servant that ministered unto him, and said, Put now this woman out from me, and bolt the door after her.
Na meri i gat wanpela klos i gat planti kain kain kala antap long em. Long wanem, long kain naispela longpela saket ol pikinini meri bilong king, husat i ol meri i no bin slip wantaim man, i save werim. Nau wokboi bilong Amnon i bringim meri ausait, na lokim dua bihain long em. And she had a garment of divers colours upon her: for with such robes were the king’s daughters that were virgins apparelled. Then his servant brought her out, and bolted the door after her.
Na Temar i putim ol sit bilong paia antap long het bilong em, na brukim dispela klos bilong em i gat ol kain kain kala i stap antap long em, na slipim han bilong em antap long het bilong em, na go taim em i krai. And Tamar put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of divers colours that was on her, and laid her hand on her head, and went on crying.
Na brata bilong em Absalom i tokim em, Ating brata bilong yu Amnon i bin stap wantaim yu? Tasol nau pasim maus bilong yu, susa bilong mi. Em i brata bilong yu. Yu no ken tingting planti long dispela samting. Olsem tasol Temar i stap nating yet long haus bilong brata bilong em Absalom. And Absalom her brother said unto her, Hath Amnon thy brother been with thee? but hold now thy peace, my sister: he is thy brother; regard not this thing. So Tamar remained desolate in her brother Absalom’s house.
¶ Tasol taim king Devit i harim long olgeta dispela samting, em i gat bikpela belhat nogut tru. But when king David heard of all these things, he was very wroth.
Na Absalom i no toktok wantaim brata bilong em Amnon, gutpela o nogut tu. Long wanem, Absalom i hetim Amnon, bilong wanem, em i bin bagarapim susa bilong em Temar. And Absalom spake unto his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.
Na em i kamap olsem bihain long tupela yia olgeta, long Absalom i gat ol man bilong katim gras bilong sipsip long Beal-hesor, dispela i klostu long Ifraim. Larim king, mi askim yu long daun pasin, na ol wokboi bilong em, go wantaim wokboi bilong yu. And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheepshearers; let the king, I beseech thee, and his servants go with thy servant.
Na king i tokim Absalom, Nogat, pikinini man bilong mi, yumi olgeta i no ken go nau, nogut mipela i gat dinau long yu. Na em i strong long em. Tasol em i no laik go, tasol em i blesim em. And the king said to Absalom, Nay, my son, let us not all now go, lest we be chargeable unto thee. And he pressed him: howbeit he would not go, but blessed him.
Nau Absalom i tok, Sapos nogat, mi askim yu plis, larim brata bilong mi Amnon go wantaim mipela. Na king i tokim em, Bilong wanem em i mas go wantaim yu? Then said Absalom, If not, I pray thee, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said unto him, Why should he go with thee?
Tasol Absalom i strong long em, inap long em i larim Amnon na olgeta pikinini man bilong king go wantaim em. But Absalom pressed him, that he let Amnon and all the king’s sons go with him.

Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.
Na ol wokboi bilong Absalom i mekim olsem long Amnon olsem Absalom i bin tok strong. Nau olgeta pikinini man bilong king i kirap, na olgeta wan wan man i kalap long miul bilong em, na ranawe. 31 Nau king i kirap, na brukim ol klos bilong em, na slip long graun. Na olgeta wokboi bilong em i sanap klostu taim ol klos bilong ol i bruk. Then the king arose, and tare his garments, and lay on the earth; and all his servants stood by with their clothes rent.

And Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother, answered and said, Let not my lord suppose that they have slain all the young men the king’s sons; for Amnon only is dead: for by the appointment of Absalom this hath been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar.
Olsem na nau no ken larim king, bikman bilong mi, kisim dispela tingting insait long bel bilong em, long tingting long olgeta pikinini man bilong king i dai pinis. Long wanem, Amnon wanpela tasol i dai pinis. Now therefore let not my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king’s sons are dead: for Amnon only is dead.
Tasol Absalom i ranawe. Na dispela yangpela man husat i was i stap i apim tupela ai bilong em, na lukluk, na, lukim, i gat planti manmeri i kam long rot bilong liklik maunten baksait long em. 37 Tasol Absalom i ranawe, na go long Talmai, pikinini man bilong Amihut, king bilong Gesur. Na Devit i soim sori long pikinini man bilong em olgeta wan wan de. But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.
