¶ Na taim ol i pasim tok long ol yet long mipela i mas ran long sip i go long Itali, ol i givim Pol na sampela arapela kalabus i go long wanpela husat nem bilong em em Julias, wanpela kepten bilong 100 soldia bilong lain soldia bilong Ogastas. And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.
Na taim mipela i go insait long wanpela sip bilong Adramitiam, mipela i lusim dispela hap, taim mipela i gat tingting long ran long sip klostu long ol hap arere bilong Esia, taim wanpela Aristakas, man Masedonia bilong Tesalonaika, i stap wantaim mipela. And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
Na long de bihain mipela i tasim Saidon. Na Julias i mekim gutpela pasin long Pol, na larim em stap fri long go long ol pren bilong em long kisim strong gen long em yet. And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously entreated Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.
Na taim mipela i bin lusim dispela ples, mipela i ran long sip aninit long Saipras, bilong wanem, ol win i birua long mipela. And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
Na taim mipela i bin ran long sip hapsait long biksi bilong Silisia na Pamfilia, mipela i kam long Maira, wanpela biktaun bilong Lisia. And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
Na long dispela hap kepten bilong 100 soldia i painim pinis wanpela sip bilong Aleksandria i laik ran i go long Itali. Na em i putim mipela insait long en. And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
Na taim mipela i bin ran long sip isi isi planti de, na klostu mipela i no kam pas klostu long Naidas, taim win i no larim mipela, mipela i ran long sip aninit long Krit, pas klostu long Salmoni. And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;
Na, klostu mipela i no inap abrusim dispela, na mipela i kam long dispela ples ol i kolim Ol naispela pasis, we klostu long en biktaun Lasia i stap. And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
Nau taim planti taim i lus pinis, na taim em i isi long kisim bagarap long ran long sip nau, bilong wanem, nau taim bilong tambuim kaikai i go pinis, Pol i givim strongpela skul long ol, Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
Na tokim ol, Ol bikman, mi kisim save long dispela wokabaut long sip bai stap wantaim pen na planti bagarap, i no long ol kago na sip tasol, tasol tu long ol laip bilong yumi. And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
Tasol kepten bilong 100 soldia i bilipim bosman na papa bilong sip, moa long ol dispela samting Pol i toktok long en. Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
¶ Na bikos dispela pasis i no gutpela ples bilong stap long en long taim bilong bikpela kol, bikpela hap moa bilong ol i givim tingting long lusim dispela ples tu, sapos long wanpela rot ol i ken kamap long Fenis, na stap long dispela hap long taim bilong bikpela kol, dispela em i wanpela pasis bilong Krit, na i slip i go long hap saut na wes, na hap not na wes. And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
Na taim win bilong hap saut i ran isi isi, na ol i ting olsem ol i bin kisim laik bilong ol, taim ol i lusim dispela ples, ol i ran long sip klostu long Krit. And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
Tasol i no longpela taim bihain long wanpela bikwin nogut i kirap i birua long en, dispela ol i kolim Yuroklidon. But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
Na taim win i kisim sip, na mipela i no inap stia klostu long win, mipela i larim win i ranim em i go. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
Na taim mipela i ran aninit long wanpela ailan, dispela ol i kolim Klauda, mipela i gat planti wok long kam klostu long bot. And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
Dispela, taim ol i bin kisim i kam antap, ol i yusim ol helpim, taim ol strongim aninit bilong sip, na, taim ol i pret long nogut ol i ken pundaun insait long ol wesan i lus tru, ol i daunim ol sel, na olsem tasol win i ranim sip i go. Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
Na taim mipela i kalap kalap planti moa yet wantaim bikwin nogut, long de bihain ol i rausim sampela hevi long sip. And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
Na namba tri de mipela tromoi i go ausait, wantaim ol han bilong mipela yet, ol baklain na sel samting bilong sip. And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
Na taim san o ol sta i no kamap ples klia long planti de, na bikwin nogut i stap antap long mipela i no liklik, olgeta hop long mipela ken kamap orait nau em i go pinis. And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
¶ Tasol bihain long longpela taim bilong pasim maus Pol i sanap ples klia long namel bilong ol, na tok, Ol bikman, i gutpela moa long yupela i bin harim maus bilong mi, na yumi no bin lusim Krit, na kisim dispela bagarap na samting i lus. But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
Na nau mi strongim bel bilong yupela long stap wantaim gutpela amamas. Long wanem, bai i no gat laip bilong wanpela man i lus namel long yupela, sip tasol bai lus. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.
Long wanem, i gat i sanap klostu long mi long dispela nait wanpela ensel bilong God, husat mi bilong em, na husat mi bihainim, For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
I spik, No ken pret, Pol. Ol i mas bringim yu long ai bilong Sisa. Na, harim, God i bin givim yu ol olgeta husat i ran long sip wantaim yu. Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Cesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
Olsem na, ol bikman, stap wantaim gutpela amamas. Long wanem, mi bilipim God, long em bai kamap olsem, yes, olsem ensel i tokim mi. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
Tasol win i mas tromoi yumi long wanpela ailan. Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
Tasol taim namba 14 nait i kam pinis, taim win i ranim mipela i go nabaut nabaut long Edria, klostu long belo biknait ol boskru i ting olsem ol i wok long kam klostu long sampela hap graun. But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
Na ol i painimaut long dip, na painimaut pinis long em i 20 param dip. Na taim ol i bin go liklik moa, ol i painimaut long dip gen, na painimaut pinis em i 15 param dip. And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
Nau taim ol i pret long nogut mipela i ken pundaun antap long ol ston, ol i tromoi fopela anka ausait long baksait bilong sip, na ol i gat laik tru long san i ken kamap. Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
Na taim ol boskru i redi long ranawe ausait long sip, taim ol i bin lusim bot i go daun long biksi, bilong giaman olsem ol i gat laik long tromoi sampela anka long fran bilong sip, And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,
Pol i tokim kepten bilong 100 soldia na ol soldia, Sapos ol dispela boskru i no stap long sip, i no gat rot long kisim bek yupela. Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
Nau ol soldia i katim i go ol baklain bilong bot, na larim em i pundaun i go. Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
Na taim san i laik kam antap, Pol i askim ol olgeta plis strong long kisim kaikai, i spik, Tude em i namba 14 de long yupela i bin stap yet na tambuim kaikai i go yet, taim yupela i no kisim wanpela samting. And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
Olsem na mi askim yupela plis long kisim sampela kaikai. Long wanem, dispela em i samting bilong mekim yupela stap orait. Long wanem, bai i no gat wanpela hap gras bai i pundaun long het bilong wanpela bilong yupela. Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
Na taim em i bin toktok olsem, em i kisim bret, na givim tok tenkyu i go long God long pes bilong ol olgeta. Na taim em i bin brukim dispela, em i stat long kaikai. And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
Nau ol olgeta i gat gutpela amamas, na ol tu i kisim sampela kaikai. Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
Na mipela olgeta insait long sip em 276 tewel. And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
Na taim ol i bin kaikai inap, ol i rausim sampela hevi bilong sip, na tromoi wit i go long biksi. And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
Na taim em i san pinis, ol i no save long dispela hap graun. Tasol ol i lukim wanpela pasis i gat nambis, insait long dispela ol i gat tingting, sapos i gat rot, long sutim sip i go insait. And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
Na taim ol i bin kisim ol anka i kam antap, ol i putim ol yet long han bilong biksi, na lusim ol baklain i holim stia, na haisapim nambawan sel i go long win, na wok long go long nambis. And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
Na taim ol i pundaun i go long ples we tupela biksi i bung, ol i ranim sip antap long graun, na fran hap bilong sip i go pas strong, na stap strong yet inap long em i no inap muv, tasol baksait hap bilong sip i bruk wantaim pasin pait bilong ol sibruk. And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
Na ol soldia i givim tok helpim bilong kilim ol kalabusman, nogut wanpela bilong ol i ken swim ausait, na ranawe. And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
Tasol kepten bilong 100 soldia, taim em i gat laik long kisim bek Pol, i pasim ol long tingting bilong ol. Na em i tok strong long ol husat i ken swim i mas tromoi ol yet pastaim long biksi, na go long graun. But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
Na ol arapela, sampela long ol plang, na sampela long ol hap bilong sip i bruk. Na em i kamap olsem, long ol olgeta i ranawe i kamap orait long graun. And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
