¶ Nau Agripa i tokim Pol, Yu ken toktok bilong helpim yu yet. Nau Pol i stretim han bilong em i go ausait, na bekim tok bilong helpim em yet. | Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:
Mi ting mi yet i amamas, king Agripa, bilong wanem, mi bai bekim tok bilong helpim mi yet tude long ai bilong yu long sait bilong olgeta samting we ol Ju i sutim tok long mi long en. | I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:
Na moa yet bikos mi save yu stap saveman tru long olgeta dispela kastam na ol askim i stap namel long ol Ju. Olsem na mi askim yu plis strong long yu ken stap isi na harim mi. | Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.
Pasin bilong laip bilong mi i stat taim mi yangpela, dispela i stap pastaim namel long kantri bilong mi yet long Jerusalem, olgeta Ju i save, | My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;
Husat i save long mi long stat, sapos ol i laik tokaut klia, long i bihainim lotu lain i hatpela moa bilong lotu pasin bilong mipela mi bin stap wanpela Farisi. | Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
Na nau mi sanap na kot i jasim mi long hop bilong promis God i wokim long ol tumbuna papa bilong mipela. | And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:
Twelpela lain bilong mipela, taim ol i strongpela long bihainim God san na nait, i gat hop long kam long dispela promis. Long tingim dispela hop, king Agripa, ol Ju i sutim tok long mi. | Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope’s sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
Bilong wanem yu ken tingim dispela samting olsem em i bikpela tumas long bilipim, long God i ken kirapim daiman? | Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?
Tru tumas, mi bin tingting wantaim mi yet, long mi mas wokim planti samting i birua long nem bilong Jisas bilong Nasaret. | I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
Dispela samting tu mi mekim long Jerusalem. Na planti bilong ol seint mi bin pasim long kalabus, taim mi kisim namba long ol bikpris. Na taim ol i mekim ol i dai, mi givim nek bilong mi i birua long ol. | Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.
Na mi wokim mekim save long ol planti taim insait long olgeta wan wan sinagog, na pulim ol strong long tok bilas. Na taim mi go longlong planti moa yet i birua long ol, mi givim hevi long ol, yes, inap long ol narakain biktaun. | And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.
¶ We long en taim mi go long Damaskas wantaim namba na oda long ol bikpris, | Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
Long belo, O king, mi lukim long rot wanpela lait i kam long heven, antap moa long lait bilong san, i lait raun nabaut long mi na ol husat i wokabaut wantaim mi. | At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
Na taim mipela olgeta i pundaun long graun, mi harim wanpela nek i toktok wantaim mi, na tok long tok ples Hibru, Sol, Sol, bilong wanem yu givim hevi long mi? Em i hat long yu long kik i birua long ol samting i gat sap. | And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Na mi tok, Yu husat, Bikpela? Na em i tok, Mi Jisas husat yu givim hevi. | And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
Tasol kirap, na sanap long tupela lek bilong yu. Long wanem, mi bin kamap ples klia long yu long dispela as, long mekim yu wanpela wokman na wanpela witnes long ol dispela samting yu bin lukim, na bilong ol dispela samting mi bai kamap ples klia long yu long en wantaim, | But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
Taim mi kisim bek yu long ol manmeri, na long ol man i no Ju, long husat nau mi salim yu, | Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
Long opim ol ai bilong ol, na long tanim ol long tudak i go long lait, na long pawa bilong Seten i go long God, inap long God i ken lusim ol sin bilong ol, na ol i ken kisim samting papa i givim pikinini namel long ol husat i kamap holi long dispela bilip tru i stap insait long mi. | To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
We long en, O king Agripa, mi no sakim tok bilong dispela driman samting i kam long heven. | Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
Tasol mi soim pastaim long ol bilong Damaskas, na long Jerusalem, na namel long olgeta hap arere bilong Judia, na nau long ol man i no Ju, long ol i mas tanim bel na tanim i go long God, na wokim ol wok i fit stret long pasin bilong tanim bel. | But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
Long ol dispela as ol Ju i holimpas mi long tempel, na ol i go nabaut bilong kilim mi. | For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
Olsem na taim mi kisim pinis helpim i kam long God, mi stap yet inap long tude, na givim witnes long man nating na bikman wantaim, taim mi no toktok long wanpela arapela samting moa long ol dispela samting ol profet na Moses i bin tok i mas kamap. | Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
Long Kraist i mas karim pen, na long em i mas stap namba wan man husat i mas kirap bek long dai, na em i mas soim lait i go long ol manmeri, na long ol man i no Ju. | That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
¶ Na taim em i tok olsem bilong helpim em yet, Festas i toktok wantaim bikpela nek, Pol, yu longlong olgeta. Planti lainim i bin mekim yu longlong. | And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
Tasol em i tok, Mi no longlong, bikman moa Festas. Tasol mi toktok klia wantaim ol toktok bilong tok tru na pasin bilong yusim gutpela tingting. | But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
Long wanem, king i save long ol dispela samting, long ai bilong husat tu mi toktok na i no gat samting i pasim. Long wanem, mi gat strongpela tingting pinis long i no gat wanpela bilong ol dispela samting i stap hait long em. Long wanem, dispela samting i no kamap long wanpela kona. | For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.
King Agripa, yu bilipim ol profet? Mi save long yu bilip. | King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
Nau Agripa i tokim Pol, Klostu yu pulim tingting bilong mi long kamap wanpela Kristen. | Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
Na Pol i tok, Mi gat laik i go long God, long i no yu tasol, tasol tu olgeta husat i harim mi tude, i ken stap klostu, na olgeta wantaim, kain man olsem mi stap, i no kaunim ol dispela hankap samting. | And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
Na taim em i bin toktok olsem, king i kirap, na nambawan gavman, na Bernisi, na ol husat i sindaun wantaim ol. | And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:
Na taim ol go long sait, ol i toktok namel long ol yet, i spik, Dispela man i no wokim wanpela samting i gat namba inap long dai o long kalabus. | And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
Nau Agripa i tokim Festas, Sapos em i no bin putim samting long han bilong Sisa bilong jasim, yu bin inap long larim dispela man i go fri. | Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Cesar.
