| 1 | ¶ Na ol nambawan papa bilong ol famili bilong ol pikinini bilong Gileat, pikinini man bilong Makir, pikinini man bilong Manasa, bilong ol famili bilong ol pikinini man bilong Josep, i kam klostu, na toktok long ai bilong Moses, na long ai bilong ol hetman, ol nambawan papa bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel. | And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel: |

Na BIKPELA i tok strong long bikman bilong mi long givim samting papa i givim pikinini bilong Selofehat, brata bilong mipela, i go long ol pikinini meri bilong em. | And they said, The Lord commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the Lord to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters. |

Olsem tasol bai dispela i lusim hap satu bilong samting papa i givim pikinini bilong mipela. | And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance. |

| 6 | Dispela em i samting BIKPELA i tok strong long en long sait bilong ol pikinini meri bilong Selofehat, i spik, Larim ol i marit long husat ol i ting em i gutpela, tasol long famili bilong lain bilong ol tumbuna papa bilong ol bai ol i marit. | This is the thing which the Lord doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry. |

Long wanem, olgeta wan wan bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel bai holimpas em yet long samting papa i givim pikinini bilong lain bilong ol tumbuna papa bilong em. | So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers. |

| 10 | Yes, olsem BIKPELA i tok strong long Moses, olsem tasol ol pikinini meri bilong Selofehat i mekim. | Even as the Lord commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad: |
| 11 | Long wanem, Mala, Tirsa, na Hokla, na Milka, na Noa, ol pikinini meri bilong Selofehat, i marit i go long ol pikinini man bilong ol brata bilong ol tumbuna papa bilong ol. | For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their father’s brothers’ sons: |
| 12 | Na ol i marit i go long famili bilong ol pikinini man bilong Manasa, pikinini man bilong Josep. na samting papa i givim pikinini bilong ol i stap yet long lain bilong famili bilong papa bilong ol. | And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father. |
| 13 | Ol dispela em i ol tok strong na ol kot, dispela BIKPELA i tok strong long han bilong Moses i go long ol pikinini bilong Isrel long ol ples stret bilong Moap klostu long Jordan klostu long Jeriko. | These are the commandments and the judgments, which the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho. |
