Na taim ol i lukim hap bilong Jaser, na hap bilong Gileat, long, lukim, dispela ples em i wanpela ples bilong ol bulmakau samting, | Now the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle; |

| 4 | Yes, dispela hap BIKPELA i paitim long ai bilong bung bilong ol manmeri bilong Isrel, em i wanpela hap bilong ol bulmakau samting, na ol wokboi bilong yu i gat ol bulmakau samting. | Even the country which the Lord smote before the congregation of Israel, is a land for cattle, and thy servants have cattle: |
| 5 | Olsem na, ol i tok, sapos mipela i bin painim pinis marimari long ai bilong yu, larim dispela hap yu ken givim i go long ol wokboi bilong yu bilong wanpela holimpas, na yu no ken bringim mipela hapsait long Jordan. | Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan. |
| 6 | Na Moses i tokim ol pikinini bilong Gat, na ol pikinini bilong Ruben, Ating ol brata bilong yupela bai go long bikpela pait, na bai yupela i sindaun hia? | And Moses said unto the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben, Shall your brethren go to war, and shall ye sit here? |

| 9 | Long wanem, taim ol i go antap i go long ples daun bilong Eskol, na lukim dispela hap, ol i bagarapim strong bilong bel bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel long pait, inap long ol i no laik go insait long dispela hap BIKPELA i bin givim ol. | For when they went up unto the valley of Eshcol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the Lord had given them. |

Bilong wanem, ol i no bin bihainim Mi olgeta. | Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed me: |

| 14 | Na, lukim, yupela i kirap long kisim ples bilong ol papa bilong yupela, wanpela lain bilong ol man i pulap long sin i kamap planti moa, bilong mekim i go bikpela yet strongpela belhat bilong BIKPELA i go long Isrel. | And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’ stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the Lord toward Israel. |

Na yupela bai bagarapim olgeta olgeta dispela lain manmeri. | For if ye turn away from after him, he will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and ye shall destroy all this people. |
| 16 | ¶ Na ol i kam klostu long em, na tok, Mipela bai wokim ol haus sipsip hia bilong ol bulmakau samting bilong mipela, na ol biktaun bilong ol liklik pikinini bilong mipela. | And they came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones: |

Na ol liklik pikinini bilong mipela bai stap long ol biktaun i gat banis, bilong tingim ol husat i stap long dispela hap. | But we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them unto their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities because of the inhabitants of the land. |
| 18 | Mipela bai i no inap go bek long ol haus bilong mipela, inap long olgeta wan wan man bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel i bin kisim samting papa i givim pikinini bilong em. | We will not return unto our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance. |
| 19 | Long wanem, mipela i no inap kisim samting papa i givim pikinini wantaim ol long hapsait long Jordan, o antap. Bilong wanem, samting papa i givim pikinini bilong mipela i pundaun long mipela long dispela sait long Jordan i go long hap is. | For we will not inherit with them on yonder side Jordan, or forward; because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side Jordan eastward. |
| 20 | Na Moses i tokim ol, Sapos yupela bai mekim dispela samting, sapos yupela bai go wantaim ol samting bilong pait long ai bilong BIKPELA long bikpela pait, | And Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed before the Lord to war, |
| 21 | Na olgeta bilong yupela bai go wantaim ol samting bilong pait hapsait long Jordan long ai bilong BIKPELA, inap long Em i bin ranim i go ausait ol birua bilong Em long ai bilong Em, | And will go all of you armed over Jordan before the Lord, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him, |
| 22 | Na dispela hap i stap aninit long ai bilong BIKPELA, orait bihain long en yupela bai go bek, na i no gat asua long ai bilong BIKPELA, na long ai bilong Isrel. Na dispela hap bai stap holimpas bilong yupela long ai bilong BIKPELA. | And the land be subdued before the Lord: then afterward ye shall return, and be guiltless before the Lord, and before Israel; and this land shall be your possession before the Lord. |
| 23 | Tasol sapos yupela i no laik mekim olsem, lukim, yupela i bin mekim sin i birua long BIKPELA. Na save tru long sin bilong yupela bai painimaut yupela. | But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out. |

Na mekim dispela samting i bin kam ausait long maus bilong yupela. | Build you cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth. |
| 25 | Na ol pikinini bilong Gat na ol pikinini bilong Ruben i tokim Moses, i spik, Ol wokboi bilong yu bai mekim olsem bikman bilong mi i tok strong. | And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spake unto Moses, saying, Thy servants will do as my lord commandeth. |
| 26 | Ol liklik pikinini bilong mipela, ol meri bilong mipela, ol lain sipsip bilong mipela, na olgeta bulmakau samting bilong mipela, bai stap long dispela hap, long ol biktaun bilong Gileat | Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead: |
| 27 | Tasol ol wokboi bilong yu bai go hapsait, olgeta wan wan man wantaim ol samting bilong pait bilong bikpela pait, long ai bilong BIKPELA long pait, olsem bikman bilong mi i tok. | But thy servants will pass over, every man armed for war, before the Lord to battle, as my lord saith. |
| 28 | ¶ Olsem na long sait bilong ol Moses i tok strong long pris Eleasar, na Josua, pikinini man bilong Nun, na ol nambawan papa bilong ol lain bilong ol pikinini bilong Isrel. | So concerning them Moses commanded Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel: |
| 29 | Na Moses i tokim ol, Sapos ol pikinini bilong Gat na ol pikinini bilong Ruben bai go wantaim yupela hapsait long Jordan, olgeta wan wan man wantaim ol samting bilong pait long pait, long ai bilong BIKPELA, na dispela hap bai stap aninit long ai bilong yupela, orait yupela bai givim ol dispela hap bilong Gileat bilong wanpela holimpas. | And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before the Lord, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession: |
| 30 | Tasol sapos ol i no laik go hapsait wantaim yupela wantaim ol samting bilong pait, ol bai gat ol holimpas namel long yupela long hap bilong Kenan. | But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan. |
| 31 | Na ol pikinini bilong Gat na ol pikinini bilong Ruben i bekim tok, i spik, Olsem BIKPELA i bin tokim ol wokboi bilong yu, olsem tasol bai mipela i mekim. | And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the Lord hath said unto thy servants, so will we do. |
| 32 | Mipela bai go hapsait wantaim ol samting bilong pait long ai bilong BIKPELA i go long hap bilong Kenan, inap long holimpas bilong ol samting papa i givim pikinini bilong mipela long dispela sait long Jordan i ken stap bilong mipela. | We will pass over armed before the Lord into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan may be ours. |
| 33 | Na Moses i givim i go long ol, yes, long ol pikinini bilong Gat, na long ol pikinini bilong Ruben, na i go long hap lain bilong Manasa, pikinini man bilong Josep, kingdom bilong Saihon, king bilong ol lain Amor, na kingdom bilong Ok, king bilong Basan, dispela hap, wantaim ol biktaun bilong en insait long ol arere, yes, ol biktaun bilong hap raun nabaut. | And Moses gave unto them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts, even the cities of the country round about. |

| 36 | Na Bet-nimra, na Bet-haran, ol biktaun i gat banis, na ol haus sipsip bilong ol sipsip. | And Beth–nimrah, and Beth–haran, fenced cities: and folds for sheep. |
| 37 | Na ol pikinini bilong Ruben i wokim Hesbon, na Eleale, na Kiriatim, | And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim, |
| 38 | Na Nibo, na Bal-meon, (bikos ol i senisim ol nem bilong ol,) na Sibma. Na ol i givim ol arapela nem i go long ol dispela biktaun ol i wokim. | And Nebo, and Baal–meon, (their names being changed,) and Shibmah: and gave other names unto the cities which they builded. |
| 39 | Na ol pikinini bilong Makir, pikinini man bilong Manasa, i go long Gileat, na kisim dispela, na kisim ol holimpas bilong ol lain Amor husat i stap long en. | And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorite which was in it. |
| 40 | Na Moses i givim Gileat i go long Makir, pikinini man bilong Manasa. Na em i stap long en. | And Moses gave Gilead unto Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein. |
| 41 | Na Jair, pikinini man bilong Manasa, i go na kisim ol liklik taun bilong en, na kolim ol Havot-jair. | And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Havoth–jair. |
| 42 | Na Noba i go na kisim Kenat, na ol vilis bilong en, na kolim dispela Noba, i bihainim nem bilong em yet. | And Nobah went and took Kenath, and the villages thereof, and called it Nobah, after his own name. |
