Long wanem, ol i toktok, na ol i no mekim. | All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. |

Tasol ol ol yet bai i no inap muvim ol wantaim wanpela bilong ol pinga bilong ol. | For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. |

| 8 | Tasol ol i no ken kolim yupela Rabai. Long wanem, wanpela em i Tisa bilong yupela, yes, Kraist. Na yupela olgeta i brata. | But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. |
| 9 | Na no ken kolim wanpela man papa bilong yupela long dispela graun. Long wanem, wanpela em i Papa bilong yupela, husat i stap long heven. | And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. |

| 12 | Na husat man bai litimapim em yet bai God i daunim. Na em husat bai daunim em yet bai God i litimapim. | And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. |
| 13 | ¶ Tasol tok lukaut i go long yupela, ol man bilong rait na ol Farisi, ol man bilong tupela maus! Long wanem, yupela i pasim kingdom bilong heven i birua long ol man. Long wanem, yupela i no go insait yupela yet, na tu yupela i no larim ol husat i wok long go insait long go insait. | But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. |

Olsem na yupela bai kisim pe nogut bilong kot i bikpela moa. | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. |

Tasol husat man bai wokim strongpela promis long nem bilong gol bilong tempel, em i gat dinau! | Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor! |
| 17 | Yupela ol krankiman na aipas. Long wanem, wanem em i bikpela moa, gol, o dispela tempel i mekim gol i kamap holi? | Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold? |
| 18 | Na, Husat man bai wokim strongpela promis long nem bilong alta, em i samting nating. Tasol husat man bai wokim strongpela promis long nem bilong dispela presen i stap antap long en, em i gat asua. | And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. |
| 19 | Yupela ol krankiman na aipas. Long wanem, wanem em i bikpela moa, dispela presen, o dispela alta i mekim dispela presen i kamap holi? | Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? |
| 20 | Olsem na husat man bai wokim strongpela promis long nem bilong alta, i wokim strongpela promis long nem bilong en, na long nem bilong olgeta samting i stap antap long en. | Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. |
| 21 | Na husat man bai wokim strongpela promis long nem bilong tempel, i wokim strongpela promis long nem bilong en, na long nem bilong em husat i stap insait long en. | And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. |
| 22 | Na em husat bai wokim strongpela promis long nem bilong heven, i wokim strongpela promis long nem bilong sia king bilong God, na long nem bilong em husat i sindaun antap long en. | And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon. |
| 23 | Tok lukaut i go long yupela, ol man bilong rait na ol Farisi, ol man bilong tupela maus! Long wanem, yupela i baim namba ten hap long mint na spais anis na kumin, na yupela i bin lusim ol samting i hevi moa bilong lo, save bilong skelim, sori, na bilip tru. Ol dispela yupela i mas mekim, na no ken lusim arapela we yupela i no mekim. | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. |

Long wanem, yupela mekim ausait bilong kap na bikpela plet i kamap klin, tasol insait long ol ol i pulap long pasin bilong pulim samting wantaim pasin nogut na sin tumas. | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. |
| 26 | Yu aipas Farisi, klinim pastaim dispela samting i stap insait long kap na bikpela plet, inap long ausait bilong ol i ken stap klin tu. | Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. |

Long wanem, yupela i stap olsem ol matmat ol i penim waitpela, dispela em i tru i luk naispela tru ausait, tasol insait long ol i pulap long ol bun bilong ol daiman, na bilong olgeta pasin i no klin. | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. |

Bilong wanem, yupela i wokim ol matmat bilong ol profet, na bilasim ol matmat bilong ol stretpela man, | Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, |
| 30 | Na tok, Sapos mipela i bin stap long ol de bilong ol tumbuna papa bilong mipela, mipela i no bin wokim wok wantaim ol long blut bilong ol profet. | And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. |

| 34 | ¶ Olsem na, lukim, mi salim ol profet long yupela, na ol saveman, na ol man bilong rait. Na sampela bilong ol yupela bai kilim na nilim long diwai kros. Na sampela bilong ol yupela bai wipim insait long ol sinagog bilong yupela, na givim hevi long ol long biktaun i go long biktaun. | Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: |
