|---|---|---|
¶ No ken hatim wanpela lapun hetman, tasol mekim strongpela askim long em olsem wanpela papa, na ol yangpela man olsem ol brata, | Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;
Ol lapun meri olsem ol mama, ol husat i yangpela moa olsem ol susa, wantaim olgeta klinpela pasin. | The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
¶ Givim ona long ol meri man bilong ol i dai pinis husat i ol meri man bilong ol i dai pinis tru tru. | Honour widows that are widows indeed.
Tasol sapos wanpela meri husat man bilong em i dai pinis i gat ol pikinini o ol pikinini bilong bratasusa, larim ol lainim pastaim long soim pasin bilong lotuim God tru long haus bilong em, na long bekim pe long ol papamama bilong ol. Long wanem, dispela em i gutpela na orait long ai bilong God. | But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
Nau em husat em i meri man bilong em i dai pinis tru tru, na i stap nating olgeta, i putim bilip long God, na i stap yet long ol autim askim na ol prea nait na san. | Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
Tasol em husat i stap laip long ol pasin bilong amamasim bel i dai pinis taim em i stap laip. | But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
Na long ol dispela samting givim wok long ol, inap long ol i no ken gat asua. | And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless.
Tasol sapos wanpela i no lukautim lain bilong em yet, na moa yet ol husat i bilong hauslain bilong em yet, em i bin tok nogat long bilip tru, na em i nogut moa long wanpela man i no bilip tru. | But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
No ken larim sios i kisim wanpela meri man bilong em i dai pinis i go insait long dispela namba taim em i aninit long 60 krismas, taim em i bin stap meri bilong wanpela man, | Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man,
Taim em i gat gutpela ripot long ol gutpela wok bilong em, sapos em i bin lukautim ol pikinini inap long ol i bikpela, sapos em i bin lukautim long haus ol ausait man, sapos em i bin wasim ol fut bilong ol seint, sapos em i bin givim helpim long ol man i kisim hevi, sapos em i bin hatwok long bihainim olgeta wan wan gutpela wok. | Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
Tasol tok nogat long ol meri man bilong ol i dai pinis i yangpela moa. Long wanem, taim ol i bin stat long wok long kamap meri bilong raun nating nogut i birua long Kraist, ol bai marit. | But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
Ol bai gat kot, bilong wanem, ol i bin tromoi namba wan bilip tru bilong ol. | Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
Na wankain olsem ol i lainim long stap nating, taim ol i raun nating nabaut long haus i go long haus. Na ol i no stap nating tasol, tasol ol i stap ol meri bilong stori nating tu na ol meri bilong sutim nus insait long samting bilong arapela, taim ol i toktok long ol dispela samting ol i no sapos long toktok long en. | And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.
Olsem na mi gat laik long ol meri i yangpela moa i ken marit, karim ol pikinini, stiaim haus, na ol i no ken givim wanpela sans long birua long toktok bilong givim sem. | I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
Long wanem, sampela i tanim pinis long sait i bihainim Seten. | For some are already turned aside after Satan.
Sapos wanpela man o meri husat i bilip i gat ol meri man bilong ol i dai pinis, larim ol lukautim ol, na no ken larim sios kisim dispela wok, inap long sios i ken lukautim ol meri tru tru husat man bilong ol i dai pinis. | If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed.
¶ Larim sios i ken kaunim ol lapun hetman husat i bosim sios gutpela i gat namba inap long kisim dabol ona, na moa yet ol husat i hatwok long tok bilong God na skul bilong Baibel. | Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
Long wanem, rait bilong God i tok, Yu no ken pasim maus bilong bulmakau man husat i krungutim wit samting. Na, Man bilong hatwok em i gat namba inap long pe bilong em. | For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
No ken kisim nating tok man i sutim i birua long wanpela lapun hetman, tasol long ai bilong tupela o tripela witnes. | Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
Hatim ol husat i mekim sin long ai bilong olgeta, inap long ol arapela tu i ken pret. | Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
Mi givim wok long yu long ai bilong God, na Bikpela Jisas Kraist, na ol ensel God i makim, long yu lukluk gut long ol dispela samting na no ken laikim wanpela mobeta long narapela, na no ken mekim wanpela samting long pasin bilong laikim wanpela moa long arapela. | I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
No ken slipim ol han wantu antap long wanpela man, na tu no ken kisim hap bilong ol sin bilong ol arapela man. Holimpas yu yet bilong stap klin. | Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.
No ken dringim wara moa, tasol yusim liklik wain bilong helpim bel bilong yu na ol sik yu gat planti taim. | Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.
Ol sin bilong sampela man i stap op bipotaim long en, taim ol i go pas long ol long kot, na sampela man ol i kam bihain. | Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.
Wankain olsem tu ol gutpela wok bilong sampela i kamap ples klia bipotaim long en. Na ol husat i no olsem ol i no inap haitim. | Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
