1 И Јов настави бесједу своју и рече: Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,
2 Тако да је жив Бог, који је одбацио парбу моју, и Свемогући, који је ојадио душу моју, As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
3 Док је душа моја у мени, и дух Божји у ноздрвама мојим, All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
4 Неће усне моје говорити безакоња, нити ће језик мој изрицати пријеваре. My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
5 Не дао Бог да пристанем да имате право; докле дишем, нећу отступити од своје доброте. God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
6 Држаћу се правде своје, нити ћу је оставити; неће ме прекорити срце моје докле сам жив. My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
7 Непријатељ мој биће као безбожник, и који устаје на ме, као безаконик. Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.
8 Јер како је надање лицемјеру, кад се лакоми а Бог ће ишчупати душу његову? For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?
9 Хоће ли Бог услишити вику његову кад на њ дође невоља? Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?
10 Хоће ли се Свемогућему радовати? хоће ли призивати Бога у свако вријеме? Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?
11 Учим вас руци Божјој, и како је у Свемогућега не тајим. I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
12 Ето, ви све видите, зашто дакле једнако говорите залудне ствари? Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain?
13 То је дио човјеку безбожном од Бога, и нашљедство које примају насилници од Свемогућега. This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty.
14 Ако му се множе синови, множе се за мач, и натражје његово неће се наситити хљеба. If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
15 Који остану иза њега, на смрти ће бити погребени, и удовице њихове неће плакати. Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.
16 Ако накупи сребра као праха, и набави хаљина као блата, Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay;
17 Што набави, обући ће праведник, и сребро ће дијелити безазлени. He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
18 Гради себи кућу као мољац, и као колибу коју начини чувар. He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh.
19 Богат ће умријети а неће бити прибран; отвориће очи а ничега неће бити. The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
20 Стигнуће га страхоте као воде; ноћу ће га однијети олуја. Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.
21 Узеће га вјетар источни, и отићи ће; вихор ће га однијети с мјеста његова. The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.
22 То ће Бог пустити на њ, и неће га жалити; он ће једнако бјежати од руке његове. For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
23 Други ће пљескати рукама за њим, и звиждаће за њим с мјеста његова. Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
