| 3 | icho chatakaona nekunzwa, tinokuparidzirai, kuti nemwi mudyidzane nesu; uyewo kudyidzana kwedu kuripo naBaba, uye neMwanakomana wavo Jesu Kristu; | That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. |

| 7 | asi kana tichifamba muchiedza, saiye ari muchiedza, tine kudyidzana umwe neumwe, neropa raJesu Kristu Mwanakomana wake rinotinatsa pachivi chese. | But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. |
| 8 | Kana tichiti hatina chivi, tinozvinyengera, nechokwadi hachisi matiri. | If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. |
| 9 | Kana tichibvuma zvivi zvedu, iye wakatendeka uye wakarurama kuti atikanganwire zvivi, nekutinatsa pakusarurama kwese. | If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |
| 10 | Kana tichiti hatina kutadza, tinomuita murevi wenhema, neshoko rake harisi matiri. | If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. |
