1	모세와 백성이 여호와께 노래하다 그때 모세와 이스라엘 백성이 여호와께 노래했다. 그 노랫말은 이러했다. “나, 여호와께 노래하려네. 여호와께서는 높고도 높으신 분. 사람이 탄 채로 말을 바다에 던져 버리셨네.	Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
2	여호와는 나의 힘, 나의 강함, 내게 구원 되셨네. 이분이 내 하나님이셔서, 나, 그를 찬양하려네. 내 아버지의 하나님이셔서, 나, 그를 높이려네.	The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
3	여호와는 전쟁에 유능하신 분. 그분의 이름이 여호와라네.	The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.
4	파라오의 전투수레와 군대를 바다에 던져 넣으셨네. 뛰어난 군인들도 홍해에 빠져 죽었네.	Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.
5	깊은 물이 그들을 덮어 버렸네. 그들이 돌처럼 깊숙이 가라앉았네.”	The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.
6	“주님의 오른손은, 여호와여, 힘이 있어 대단합니다. 주님의 오른손이, 여호와여, 적을 쳐부수었습니다.	Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
7	주님과 맞서는 자들을 큰 위엄으로 쓰러뜨리셨습니다. 노여움의 불길을 보내어 그들을 지푸라기처럼 살라 버리셨습니다.	And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
8	주님이 코로 숨을 내쉬시자 물이 쌓였습니다. 둑을 이루듯이 파도가 멈추어 섰습니다. 깊은 물이 바다 한가운데서 굳어졌습니다.	And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9	적이 이렇게 말했습니다. ‘내가 뒤쫓아 가서 따라잡을 거야. 약탈한 것을 나눌 거야. 나 하고 싶은 대로 그들에게 다 하고, 칼을 뽑아 내 손으로 그들을 몰아내 버릴 거야.’	The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.
10	그런데 주님이 숨을 내쉬시자, 바다가 그들을 덮어 버렸습니다. 그들은 납처럼 거센 물에 잠겨 버렸습니다.	Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11	여호와여, 신들 가운데 그 누가 주님 같겠습니까? 그 누가 주님처럼 위엄차고 거룩하겠습니까? 두려운 주님, 찬양받으실 주님, 놀라운 일을 하시는 주님!	Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12	주님이 오른손을 내뻗으시자, 땅이 그들을 삼켜 버렸습니다.	Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
13	주님은 주님이 구해 내신 백성을 한결같은 사랑으로 이끌어 주셨습니다. 주님이 머무실 거룩한 장소에 주님의 힘으로 데려다주셨습니다.	Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.
14	여러 나라 사람들이 소식을 듣고 벌벌 떨었습니다. 필리스티아 주민들이 불안에 사로잡혔습니다.	The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina.
15	에돔 족장들은 겁을 집어먹었습니다. 모압 권력자들은 부들부들 떨었습니다. 가나안 주민들은 모두 기죽었습니다.	Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.
16	겁과 무서움이 그들 위에 덮쳤습니다. 주님의 큰 팔을 보고는 돌처럼 굳어져 버렸습니다. 여호와여, 주님의 백성이 지나가기까지, 주님이 사들이신 백성이 지나가기까지 그러했습니다.	Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O Lord, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased.
17	주님이 그들을 데리고 오셔서 주님 자신 몫의 산에 심으셨습니다, 여호와여, 주님이 머물러 계실 곳, 주님이 마련해 두신 곳에! 오, 주님, 거룩한곳(성소)입니다, 주님의 손으로 기초를 놓으신 곳입니다.	Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O Lord, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established.
18	여호와께서 임금으로 다스리실 것입니다, 영원히 언제까지나.”	The Lord shall reign for ever and ever.
19	미리암이 모세와 백성의 노래를 받다 파라오의 말이 전투수레와 기마병들과 함께 바다로 들어가자, 여호와께서 그들 위로 바닷물이 다시 흐르게 하셨다. 그렇지만 이스라엘 사람들은 바다 한가운데 마른땅으로 걸어갔다.	For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the Lord brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
20	미리암이 손에 작은북을 들었다. 미리암은 예언자이자 아론의 누나였다. 여자들이 모두 미리암을 뒤따라 작은북을 들고 둥글게 춤을 추며 나왔다.	And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
21	미리암이 모세와 백성의 노래를 이렇게 받았다. “여호와께 노래하세요. 여호와께서는 높고도 높으신 분. 사람이 탄 채로 말을 바다에 던져 버리셨어요.”	And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
22	여호와께서 쓴 물을 달게 해 주시다 그 뒤에 모세는 이스라엘을 홍해에서 이끌고 길을 나섰고, 그들은 수르 광야로 나갔다. 3일을 광야에서 걸었지만 물을 찾지 못했다.	So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23	마라에 이르렀는데, 물이 써서 마라에서는 물을 마실 수 없었다. 그래서 그곳의 이름을 마라라고 지어 불렀다.	And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24	백성이 모세에게 “우리더러 무엇을 마시란 말입니까?” 하고 투덜대며 말했다.	And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25	그러자 모세는 여호와께 부르짖었고, 여호와께서 모세에게 나무토막 하나를 가리켜 보이셨다. 그가 물에 던져 넣자, 거기 물이 달게 되었다. 거기에서 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 규정과 법령을 만들어 주시고, 거기에서 이스라엘을 시험해 보셨다.	And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
26	여호와께서 말씀하셨다. “네가 여호와 너의 하나님의 목소리를 참으로 잘 듣고, 그가 보기에 올바르게 행동한다고 하자. 그의 명령들에 귀 기울이고 그의 모든 규정들을 지킨다고 하자. 그러면 내가 이집트에서 일으켰던 질병 가운데 그 어느 것도 너에게는 일으키지 않을 것이다. 나 여호와는 너의 의사이기 때문이다.”	And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
27	그 뒤에 그들은 엘림으로 갔다. 거기에는 우물이 열두 군데, 대추야자나무(종려나무)가 70그루 있었다. 거기서 물가에 진을 쳤다.	And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.
