1	예수님 자신을 위해 기도하시다 이런 말씀들을 예수님이 하셨다. 그러고는 눈을 들어 하늘을 향하여 기도하셨다. “아버지, 때가 와 있습니다! 아버지의 아들을 영광스럽게 하셔서 아들이 아버지를 영광스럽게 하도록 해 주십시오.	These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2	아버지께서 아들에게 모든 생명체에 대한 권한을 주셨기 때문입니다. 아들에게 맡겨 주신 것마다 그것들에게 아들이 영원한 생명을 주도록 하시려고요.	As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3	영원한 생명은 이것입니다. 곧 아버지께서 한 분뿐인 참하나님이신 것과, 또 아버지께서 보내신 예수 그리스도를 아는 것입니다.	And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
4	나야말로 아버지를 땅에서 영광스럽게 했습니다. 아버지께서 나에게 하라고 맡겨 주신 그 일을 끝냄으로써요.	I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
5	이제 아버지께서 친히 나를 아버지 곁에서 영광스럽게 해 주십시오, 아버지! 세상이 있기 전에 내가 아버지 곁에서 누렸던 그 영광으로요.”	And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6	제자들을 위해 기도하시다 “내가 아버지 하나님의 이름을 사람들에게 드러냈습니다. 하나님이 세상에서 뽑아내서 나에게 맡겨 주신 사람들에게요. 그들은 하나님께 속했는데, 나에게 그들을 맡겨 주셨지요. 그리고 그들은 하나님의 말씀을 지켜 왔습니다.	I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
7	이제 그들은, 하나님이 나에게 주신 것은 모두 다 하나님께로부터 온 것임을 압니다.	Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.
8	하나님이 나에게 주신 말씀들을 내가 그들에게 주었기 때문입니다. 그들이 그것들을 받아들였습니다. 그리고 그들은 내가 하나님께로부터 나왔다는 것을 참으로 알게 되었습니다. 또 하나님이 친히 나를 보내셨다는 것을 믿었습니다.	For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
9	내가 직접 그들을 위해 간청합니다. 내가 간청하는 것은 세상을 위해서가 아니라 하나님이 나에게 주신 사람들을 위해서입니다. 그들이 바로 하나님께 속해 있기 때문입니다.	I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10	나의 것은 모두 하나님의 것이고 하나님의 것은 나의 것입니다. 나는 그들 사이에서 이미 영광스럽게 되었습니다.	And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11	내가 더는 세상에 있지 않습니다. 그런데 그들은 세상에 있습니다. 나 자신마저 하나님께로 갑니다. 거룩하신 아버지! 아버지 하나님이 나에게 주신 하나님 이름의 능력으로 그들을 지켜 주십시오. 그리하여 우리가 그런 것처럼 그들이 하나가 되게 해 주십시오!	And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12	내가 그들과 함께 있을 때는, 내가 직접 그들을 하나님이 나에게 주신 하나님 이름의 능력으로 지켜 주었습니다. 또 보호해 주었습니다. 잃어버릴 자식 말고는 그들 가운데 아무도 잃어버리지 않았습니다. 성경 말씀이 이루어지게 하려는 것이었습니다.	While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13	이제 나는 하나님께로 갑니다. 이런 것들을 내가 세상에 있는 동안에 말씀드리는 것은, 나의 기쁨이 그들 안에 가득 차 있게 하려는 것입니다.	And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14	나는 그들에게 하나님의 말씀을 주었습니다. 그러나 세상은 그들을 미워했습니다. 그들이 세상에 속해 있지 않기 때문입니다. 나 자신이 세상에 속해 있지 않은 것과 마찬가지로 말입니다.	I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15	내가 하나님께 간청하는 것은 그들을 세상에서 빼내시라는 것이 아니라, 그들을 악한 자에게서 지켜 주시라는 것입니다.	I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16	그들은 세상에 속해 있지 않습니다. 나 자신이 세상에 속해 있지 않은 것과 마찬가지로요.	They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17	그들을 진리로 거룩하게 해 주십시오. 하나님의 말씀이 진리입니다.	Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18	하나님이 나를 세상에 보내신 것처럼, 나 자신도 그들을 세상에 보냈습니다.	As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19	그들을 위해 내가 나 자신을 거룩하게 합니다. 그들 자신도 진리 안에서 거룩하게 되도록 하려는 것입니다.”	And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20	앞으로 믿게 될 사람들을 위해서도 기도하시다 “내가 이들을 위해서만 간청하는 것은 아닙니다. 이들이 전한 말씀을 통해 나를 믿게 될 사람들도 위한 것입니다.	Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21	그들이 모두 하나가 되게 해 주십시오. 아버지! 아버지 하나님이 내 안에 또 내가 하나님 안에 있는 것처럼 말입니다. 그들도 역시 우리 안에 있게 해 주십시오. 그래서 하나님이 친히 나를 보내셨다는 것을 세상이 믿게 해 주십시오.	That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22	하나님이 나에게 주신 영광을 나도 역시 그들에게 주었습니다. 우리 자신들이 하나인 것처럼 그들이 하나가 되게 하려는 것이었습니다.	And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23	내가 그들 안에 있고 하나님이 내 안에 계십니다. 그들이 완전히 하나가 되어야 합니다. 그래서 하나님이 친히 나를 보내셨다는 것과, 나를 사랑하신 것처럼 그들도 사랑하셨다는 것을 세상이 알아야 합니다.	I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24	아버지! 아버지 하나님이 나에게 주신 사람들을 두고 내가 바랍니다. 나 자신이 있는 곳에 저들도 나와 함께 있게 해 주십시오. 그래서 저들이 나의 영광을 지켜보게 해 주십시오. 세상의 기초가 놓이기 전에 하나님이 나를 사랑하셔서 나에게 주신 그 영광을 말입니다.	Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25	그런데, 의로우신 아버지, 세상이 아버지 하나님을 알지 못합니다. 그런데 나는 하나님을 알았습니다. 이 사람들도 하나님이 친히 나를 보내셨다는 것을 알았습니다.	O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26	내가 그들에게 하나님의 이름을 알렸습니다. 또 알릴 겁니다. 그래서 하나님이 나를 사랑하신 그 사랑이 그들 안에 있고 나도 역시 그들 안에 있도록 할 겁니다.”	And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
