1	멍에를 멘 예레미야 요시야의 아들 시드기야가 유다 임금으로 다스리기 시작할 무렵이었다. 이 말씀이 여호와께로부터 예레미야에게 내려오는 일이 일어났다.	In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,
2	(예언자) 여호와께서 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) “너는 사슬과 멍에를 만들어 너의 목에 걸어라.	Thus saith the Lord to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck,
3	그러고는 그것들을 에돔 임금, 모압 임금, 암몬 사람들의 임금, 티레 임금, 시돈 임금에게 보내라. 유다 임금 시드기야를 만나러 예루살렘으로 오는 사신들 손에 들려 보내라.	And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah;
4	너는 그들에게 명령하여, 자신들의 주인들에게 여호와의 말씀을 전하게 해라. (예언자) ‘전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) 「너희는 너희의 주인들에게 전해 주어라.	And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters;
5	바로 내가 땅과 사람을 만들었다. 땅 위에 있는 짐승을 만들었다. 내 큰 힘과 편 팔로 만들었다. 나는 그 땅을 내 눈에 드는 사람에게 넘겨주곤 했다.	I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me.
6	이제 내가 이 모든 나라 땅을 네부카드네자르의 손에 넘겨주었다. 그는 바빌론 임금이자 나의 종이다. 들짐승조차 내가 그에게 넘겨주어 그를 섬기게 했다.	And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.
7	그래서 모든 민족이 그를 섬길 것이다. 그의 아들과 손자를 섬길 것이다. 마침내 네부카드네자르의 나라도 때가 다할 것이다. 그때가 되면 바빌로니아를 많은 민족과 큰 임금들이 종처럼 부려 먹게 될 것이다.	And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him.
8	어떤 민족이나 왕국이 바빌론 임금 네부카드네자르를 섬기지 않고 바빌론 임금의 멍에를 목에 메지 않는다고 하자. 그런 민족은 내가 칼과 굶주림과 돌림병으로 벌할 것이다. ― 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 그들이 네부카드네자르의 손에서 완전히 망할 때까지 벌할 것이다.	And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the Lord, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand.
9	그러므로 너희만큼은 너희의 예언자들이나 점쟁이들이나 꿈쟁이들의 말을 듣지 마라. 주술사들이나 마술사들의 말도 듣지 마라. 그들은 너희에게 너희가 바빌론 임금을 섬기게 되지 않을 것이라고 말하고 있다.	Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon:
10	그들은 너희에게 거짓을 예언하고 있다. 그래서 너희를 너희의 땅에서 떠나게 하고, 내가 너희를 쫓아내게 할 것이다. 그러면 너희가 망할 것이다.	For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish.
11	어떤 민족이 바빌론 임금의 멍에를 목에 메고 그를 섬긴다면, 그 민족을 내가 자신의 땅에 남겨 두겠다. ― 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 그 민족은 그 땅을 갈며 거기서 살 것이다.」’”	But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the Lord; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.
12	(예언자) 유다 임금 시드기야에게는 내가 이 모든 말씀을 그대로 일러 주었습니다. “바빌론 임금의 멍에를 목에 메고 그와 그의 백성을 섬기십시오. 그러면 살아남을 것입니다.	I spake also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live.
13	무슨 까닭으로 임금님과 임금님의 백성이 칼과 굶주림과 돌림병으로 죽으려 하십니까, 바빌론 임금을 섬기지 않는 민족에게 여호와께서 말씀하신 것처럼요?	Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?
14	듣지 마십시오, 바빌론 임금을 섬기지 않게 될 것이라고 하는 예언자들의 말을! 거짓을 그들이 예언하고 있기 때문입니다.	Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
15	(하나님) ‘나는 그들을 보낸 적이 없다. ― 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 그들이 나의 이름으로 거짓되게 예언하고 있다. 그래서 내가 너희를 쫓아내겠다. 그러면 너희는 망할 것이다. 너희와 너희에게 예언하고 있는 예언자들이 함께 망할 것이다.’”	For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.
16	(예언자) 또 제사장들과 이 백성 모두에게 내가 말했습니다. “여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. (하나님) ‘너희에게 예언하는 예언자들이 말한다. 「보시오, 여호와의 집 기구들이 이제 곧 바빌론에서 다시 옮겨 올 것이오.」 그런 예언자들의 말을 듣지 마라. 그들은 너희에게 거짓을 예언하고 있기 때문이다.	Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the Lord’s house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.
17	그들의 말을 듣지 말고, 바빌론 임금을 섬겨라. 그러면 살아남을 것이다. 무슨 까닭으로 이 도시가 쑥대밭이 되어야 하겠느냐?’	Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?
18	(예언자) 그들이 예언자이고, 여호와의 말씀이 그들과 함께한다고 합시다. 그렇다면 전능하신 여호와께 끈질기게 부탁드리도록 하세요. 그래서 여호와의 집과 유다 왕궁과 예루살렘에 남아 있는 그릇들이 바빌론으로 옮겨 가지 않게 해 보세요!	But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
19	전능하신 여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. 기둥들과 바다와 받침대들을 두고, 또 이 도시 안에 남아 있는 나머지 기구들을 두고 말씀하신 것입니다.	For thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city,
20	이것들은 바빌론 임금 네부카드네자르가 빼앗아 가지 않은 것들입니다. 여호야김의 아들인 유다 임금 여고냐를 예루살렘에서 바빌론으로 사로잡아 갈 때였습니다. 유다와 예루살렘 귀족들도 모두 사로잡아 갈 때였습니다.	Which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;
21	전능하신 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. 여호와의 집과 유다 왕궁과 예루살렘에 남아 있는 기구들을 두고 말씀하신 것입니다.	Yea, thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem;
22	(하나님) ‘기구들이 바빌론으로 옮겨져 거기 있을 것이다. 내가 그것들을 다시 찾아가는 날까지 그럴 것이다. ― 여호와의 말씀입니다. ― 그러고 나서 내가 그것들을 이곳으로 다시 올려 와 되돌려 놓겠다.’”	They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the Lord; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.
