1	요시야가 유다 임금이 되다 요시야가 임금이 되었을 때 8세였다. 31년 동안 예루살렘에서 다스렸다. 그의 어머니 이름은 여디다이고 아다야의 딸로 보스갓 사람이었다.	Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
2	그는 여호와께서 보시기에 올곧은 일을 했다. 자기 조상 다윗의 모든 길로 걸었고, 오른쪽이나 왼쪽으로 벗어나지 않았다. ()	And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
3	성전을 고치다가 율법책을 찾다 요시야 임금 열여덟째 해였다. 임금은 아살랴의 아들이자 므술람의 손자인 사반 서기관을 여호와의 집으로 보내며 말했다.	And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the Lord, saying,
4	“힐기야 대제사장에게 올라가십시오. 여호와의 집에 들어온 은을 모두 세어 보게 하십시오. 문을 지키는 이들이 백성에게 받아서 모은 은입니다.	Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the Lord, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people:
5	그 은을 여호와의 집을 맡아서 일하는 사람들의 손에 넘겨주십시오. 그들이 그것을 여호와의 집에서 일하는 사람들에게 주어 그 집의 깨진 곳을 튼튼히 고치게 하십시오.	And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the Lord: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the Lord, to repair the breaches of the house,
6	목수들과 건축 노동자들과 미장이들에게 주게 하십시오. 나무와 막 캐낸 돌을 사서 그 집을 튼튼히 고치게 하십시오.	Unto carpenters, and builders, and masons, and to buy timber and hewn stone to repair the house.
7	그러나 그들의 손에 넘겨준 은에 관해 그들에게 묻지 마십시오. 그들은 일을 똑바로 하는 사람들이니까요.”	Howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully.
8	힐기야 대제사장이 사반 서기관에게 말했다. “여호와의 집에서 율법책을 찾았네.” 힐기야가 그 책을 사반에게 주니 그가 읽었다.	And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the Lord. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
9	사반 서기관이 임금에게 와서 알렸다. “임금님의 신하들이 그 집에 있는 은을 쏟아서, 그것을 여호와의 집을 맡아서 일하는 사람들의 손에 넘겨주었습니다.”	And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the Lord.
10	사반 서기관은 임금에게 이어서 말했다. “책 한 권을 힐기야 제사장이 저에게 건네주었습니다.” 사반은 그 책을 임금 앞에서 소리 내어 읽었다.	And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
11	임금은 그 율법책의 말씀을 듣고 자기 옷을 찢었다.	And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.
12	임금은 힐기야 제사장, 사반의 아들 아히감, 미가야의 아들 악볼, 사반 서기관, 임금의 종 아사야에게 명령했다.	And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king’s, saying,
13	“가서, 나와 백성과 온 유다를 위해 이 찾은 책의 말씀을 두고서 여호와께 여쭈어보시오. 우리에게 치솟은 여호와의 노여움이 크니까요. 우리 조상들이 이 책의 말씀을 듣지 않고 우리에 관해 적혀 있는 대로 다 살지 않았기 때문입니다.”	Go ye, enquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.
14	힐기야 제사장, 아히감, 악볼, 사반, 아사야가 살룸의 아내 훌다 예언자에게 갔다. 살룸은 디과의 아들이자 하르하스의 손자로 옷을 지키는 사람이었다. 훌다는 예루살렘 2구역에 살고 있었다. 그들이 그에게 가서 이야기했다.	So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.
15	그러자 그가 그들에게 말했다. “여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. 여러분을 나에게 보낸 사람에게 말씀하십시오.	And she said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me,
16	여호와께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘보라, 내가 이곳과 여기 사는 사람들에게 나쁜 일을 불러올 것이다. 유다 임금이 읽은 책에 적혀 있는 말 그대로이다.	Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:
17	그들이 나를 버리고 다른 신들에게 향을 피워 바쳤기 때문이다. 그렇게 그들 손으로 하는 모든 일로 나의 화를 돋우었다. 그러므로 나의 노여움이 이곳에서 치솟아 사그라들지 않을 것이다.’	Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.
18	유다 임금이 여러분을 나에게 보내서 여호와께 묻고 있지요. 그에게 이렇게 말씀하세요. 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. ‘네가 들은 말을 두고 말한다.	But to the king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the Lord, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, As touching the words which thou hast heard;
19	네가 듣고는 너의 마음이 찔려 여호와 앞에 자기를 낮추었다. 그 말은 내가 이곳과 여기 사는 사람들을 두고 끔찍한 본보기와 저주가 될 것이라고 한 것이었다. 너는 나의 앞에서 너의 옷을 찢고 울었다. 그래서 나도 너의 말을 들었다.’ 여호와의 말씀입니다.	Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the Lord, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the Lord.
20	‘그러므로 보라, 내가 너를 너의 조상들에게 데려갈 때 너는 평화롭게 너의 무덤에 들어갈 것이다. 내가 이곳에 가져올 온갖 나쁜 일을 너의 눈으로는 볼 수 없을 것이다.’” 그들은 임금에게 말을 전해 주었다.	Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.
