1	유다 임금 아하스가 아시리아의 도움을 받다 르말랴의 아들 베가흐 17년째 되는 해에, 유다 임금 곧 요담의 아들 아하스가 임금이 되었다.	In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.
2	아하스가 임금이 되었을 때 20세였다. 16년 동안 예루살렘에서 다스렸다. 그는 여호와 자기 하나님께서 보시기에 올곧은 일을 하지 않았다. 자기 조상 다윗처럼 하지 않은 것이다.	Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord his God, like David his father.
3	그는 이스라엘 임금들의 길로 걸었다. 더 나아가 자기 아들을 불 가운데로 지나가게 했다. 다른 나라 사람들이 하는 역겨운 일을 따라 한 것이다. 이들은 여호와께서 이스라엘 사람들 앞에서 쫓아내신 사람들이다.	But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children of Israel.
4	그는 높은곳(산당)들과 언덕에서, 온갖 울창한 나무 아래에서 제물을 바치고 향을 피워 바쳤다.	And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
5	그때 시리아 임금 르신과 이스라엘 임금 곧 르말랴의 아들 베가흐가 예루살렘으로 올라와 싸우려 했다. 그들은 아하스를 둘러쌌지만 싸움을 걸 수 없었다.	Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.
6	그 무렵 시리아 임금 르신은 엘랏을 시리아로 되찾아 왔고, 유다 사람들을 엘랏에서 내쫓았다. 그러자 에돔 사람들이 엘랏으로 왔다. 그들은 오늘까지도 거기 살고 있다.	At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drave the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there unto this day.
7	아하스는 아시리아 임금 디글랏빌레셀에게 심부름꾼을 보내서 말했다. “나는 임금님의 종이며 임금님의 아들입니다. 그러니 올라오셔서 시리아 임금과 이스라엘 임금의 손아귀에서 나를 건져 주십시오. 그들이 나를 치려고 일어났습니다.”	So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath–pileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me.
8	그러면서 아하스는 여호와의 집과 왕궁 보물 창고에 있는 은과 금을 가져다가 아시리아 임금에게 선물로 보냈다.	And Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the king’s house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.
9	그러자 아시리아 임금이 그의 말을 들어 주었다. 아시리아 임금은 다마스쿠스로 올라가, 그 도시를 차지하고 그 주민을 기르로 사로잡아 갔다. 르신은 죽였다.	And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.
10	아하스 임금은 아시리아 임금 디글랏빌레셀을 만나러 다마스쿠스로 가서, 다마스쿠스에 있는 제단을 보았다. 아하스 임금은 우리야 제사장에게 제단의 생김새와 얼개를 있는 그대로 그려서 보냈다.	And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath–pileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof.
11	우리야 제사장은 제단을 세웠다. 아하스 임금이 다마스쿠스에서 보낸 그림대로 우리야 제사장이 다 해 놓았고, 그런 다음 아하스 임금이 다마스쿠스에서 돌아왔다.	And Urijah the priest built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: so Urijah the priest made it against king Ahaz came from Damascus.
12	임금이 다마스쿠스에서 돌아왔을 때, 임금은 제단을 보았다. 임금이 제단 가까이로 가더니 그 위로 올라갔다.	And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king approached to the altar, and offered thereon.
13	자기가 마련한 다태우는제물(번제물)과 곡식제물(소제물)을 살라 바치고 붓는제물(전제물)을 부어 드렸다. 그리고 제단 위에 자기가 마련한 평화제물(화목제물)의 피를 뿌렸다.	And he burnt his burnt offering and his meat offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, upon the altar.
14	여호와 앞에 있던 놋제단은 그 집 앞에서 옮겨 왔다. 새 제단과 여호와의 집 사이에서 옮겨 와 새 제단 곁 북쪽에 놓았다.	And he brought also the brasen altar, which was before the Lord, from the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the Lord, and put it on the north side of the altar.
15	아하스 임금이 우리야 제사장에게 명령했다. “큰 제단 위에다 아침에 드리는 다태우는제물(번제물)과 저녁에 드리는 곡식제물(소제물)을 살라 바치세요. 임금이 드리는 다태우는제물(번제물)과 곡식제물(소제물), 이 땅 온 백성이 드리는 다태우는제물(번제물)과 곡식제물(소제물)과 붓는제물(전제물)을 살라 바치세요. 다태우는제물(번제물)의 모든 피와 바친 제물의 모든 피를 그 위에 뿌리세요. 놋제단은 내가 알아볼 일이 있을 때 쓸 겁니다.”	And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meat offering, and the king’s burnt sacrifice, and his meat offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the brasen altar shall be for me to enquire by.
16	우리야 제사장은 아하스 임금이 하라는 대로 다 했다.	Thus did Urijah the priest, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.
17	아하스 임금은 물독 받침의 테두리를 자르고 거기에서 물독을 떼어 냈다. 또한 바다를 그 아래에 있던, 놋쇠로 만든 소에서 내려 돌 받침 위에 두었다.	And king Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the laver from off them; and took down the sea from off the brasen oxen that were under it, and put it upon a pavement of stones.
18	안식일에 쓰려고 그 집에 만들어 둔, 덮개 있는 현관과 임금이 들어오는 바깥문을 여호와의 집에서 없앴다. 아시리아 임금 때문이었다.	And the covert for the sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king’s entry without, turned he from the house of the Lord for the king of Assyria.
19	아하스가 했던 나머지 일들은 유다 임금들의 역사일지에 적혀 있지 않은가?	Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
20	아하스가 자기 조상들과 함께 누워, 다윗의 도시에 조상들과 함께 묻혔다. 그의 아들 히스기야가 그를 이어 임금이 되었다.	And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
