1	여호와께서 여호수아에게 말씀하시다 여호와의 종 모세가 죽고 나서였다. 여호와께서 눈의 아들이자 모세의 시중을 들던 여호수아에게 말씀하셨다.	Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
2	“내 종 모세가 죽었다. 이제는 네가 일어나 이 온 백성과 함께 이 요르단강을 건너라! 내가 그들 이스라엘 사람들에게 주려는 땅으로 가거라!	Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3	너희 발바닥으로 밟는 곳은 어디든지 내가 너희에게 주겠다. 내가 모세에게 말한 대로 해 주겠다.	Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
4	광야에서부터 레바논까지, 큰 강 유프라테스에서부터 히타이트 사람들의 온 땅을 지나서 해 지는 곳인 큰 바다 지중해까지다. 그 모든 곳이 너희의 영토가 될 것이다.	From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
5	너의 평생에 너의 앞을 막아설 사람이 없을 것이다. 내가 모세와 함께했던 것처럼 너와 함께하겠다. 너를 떠나지 않고 너를 버리지 않겠다.	There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6	용기를 내고 강해져라! 네가 이 백성에게 그 땅을 나누어 받게 해 주어야 할 것이다. 그 땅을 내가 그들의 조상들에게 주기로 굳게 약속했다.	Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
7	오직 용기를 내고 아주 강해져라! 내 종 모세가 너에게 명령한 모든 가르침을 잘 지켜 실행해라. 오른쪽으로든 왼쪽으로든 그 가르침에서 벗어나지 마라! 그러면 네가 어디로 가든지 잘될 것이다.	Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
8	이 가르침의 책이 너의 입에서 떨어지지 않게 하여라. 그 책을 밤낮으로 작은 소리로 읽어라. 거기에 적힌 모든 것을 잘 지켜 실행해라. 그러면 네 길이 열리고 네가 잘될 것이다.	This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9	용기를 내고 강해지라고 내가 너에게 명령하지 않았느냐? 기죽지도 말고 겁먹지도 마라! 네가 어디로 가든지 여호와 너의 하나님이 너와 함께할 것이기 때문이다.”	Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
10	여호수아가 백성에게 명령하다 그리하여 여호수아는 백성의 행정관들에게 이렇게 명령했다.	Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11	“진영 가운데로 두루 다니며 백성에게 이렇게 명령하십시오. ‘여러분은 길양식을 준비하십시오. 이제 3일 안에 여러분은 이 요르단강을 건너서 땅을 차지하러 들어갈 것입니다. 그 땅을 여호와 여러분의 하나님이 여러분에게 주어 차지하게 하실 것입니다.’”	Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it.
12	르우벤 사람들, 갓 사람들, 므낫세 지파 절반에게 여호수아가 이렇게 말했다.	And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, spake Joshua, saying,
13	“기억하도록 하십시오. 여호와의 종 모세가 여러분에게 명령하며 해 준 말을요. 이런 말입니다. ‘여호와 그대들의 하나님이 그대들을 편히 쉬게 해 주시고 그대들에게 이 땅을 주실 것입니다.’	Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.
14	여러분의 아내와 아이들과 집짐승은 모세가 여러분에게 나누어 준 땅 곧 요르단강 동쪽에 머물러 있게 하십시오. 그렇지만 용사 여러분은 모두 여러분의 형제들보다 앞서서 언제라도 싸울 수 있게 줄지어 건너가서 그들을 도와야 합니다.	Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan; but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
15	여호와께서 여러분에게 해 주셨듯이, 여러분의 형제들을 편히 쉬게 해 주실 때까지 그렇게 해야 합니다. 마침내 그들도 여호와 여러분의 하나님이 주시려는 땅을 차지하게 될 것입니다. 그러고 나면 여러분은 여러분이 차지할 땅으로 돌아와서 그 땅을 차지할 수 있습니다. 그 땅을, 해 돋는 곳인 요르단강 동쪽에서 여호와의 종 모세가 여러분에게 나누어 주었습니다.”	Until the Lord have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you, and they also have possessed the land which the Lord your God giveth them: then ye shall return unto the land of your possession, and enjoy it, which Moses the Lord’s servant gave you on this side Jordan toward the sunrising.
16	그들이 여호수아에게 이렇게 대답했다. “저희에게 명령하신 대로 다 하겠습니다. 저희를 어디로 보내시든지 가겠습니다.	And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.
17	저희가 모세의 말씀을 다 들었듯이, 당신의 말씀도 듣겠습니다. 오직 당신의 하나님 여호와께서 모세와 함께하셨듯이 당신과 함께하시기 바랍니다.	According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
18	당신을 거스르고 저희에게 명령하신 말씀을 듣지 않는 사람은 죽여야 합니다. 오직 용기를 내고 강해지십시오!”	Whosoever he be that doth rebel against thy commandment, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou commandest him, he shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
