1	크세르크세스와 모르드개의 업적 크세르크세스 임금은, 땅은 물론 바다에 있는 섬들에도 조공을 바치게 했다.	And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.
2	그가 힘과 권력으로 이룬 모든 일과 임금인 그가 모르드개를 높여서 높은 자리에 오르게 한 자세한 이야기, 그것들이 메디아와 페르시아 임금들의 역사일지에 적혀 있지 않는가?	And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
3	유다 사람 모르드개는 크세르크세스 임금 다음가는 사람이었다. 유다 사람들 사이에서 높은 사람이었고, 그의 수많은 형제들의 마음을 얻은 사람이었다. 그는 자기 민족에게 좋은 일을 하려고 애쓰면서, 그의 모든 후손의 평화를 위해 나섰던 것이다.	For Mordecai the Jew was next unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
