1	여호와의 명령을 지켜 실행하면 복받습니다 “여호와 그대의 하나님의 목소리를 그대가 참으로 잘 듣는다고 합시다. 그래서 그분의 모든 명령을 지켜 실행한다고 합시다. 내가 오늘 그대에게 알려 주는 모든 명령을요. 그러면 여호와 그대의 하나님이 그대를 이 땅의 모든 민족 위에 높여 주실 것입니다.	And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2	그대가 여호와 그대의 하나님의 목소리를 듣는다면, 이 모든 복이 그대에게 내리고 그대에게 따라붙을 것입니다.	And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
3	그대가 도시에 있어도 복받고, 들판에 있어도 복받을 것입니다.	Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4	그대 몸의 열매와 땅의 열매와 집짐승의 열매, 곧 송아지와 새끼 양이 복받을 것입니다.	Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5	그대의 바구니와 밀가루 반죽 통이 복받을 것입니다.	Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
6	그대가 들어갈 때도 복받고, 나갈 때도 복받을 것입니다.	Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7	여호와께서 그대와 맞서는 적들을 그대 앞에서 무너지게 해 주실 것입니다. 그들이 그대를 향하여 한 길로 나왔다가 그대 앞에서 일곱 길로 달아날 것입니다.	The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8	여호와께서 명령하셔서, 복이 그대에게 있도록 해 주실 것입니다. 그대의 곳간과 그대가 손대는 모든 일에요. 여호와께서 그대에게 복을 내려 주실 것입니다. 여호와 그대의 하나님이 그대에게 주시는 땅에서요.	The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
9	여호와께서는 그대에게 굳게 약속하신 대로, 그대를 그분의 거룩한 백성으로 세워 주실 것입니다. 그대가 여호와 그대의 하나님의 명령을 따르고 그분의 길로 걸어간다면요.	The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
10	세상의 모든 백성이 볼 것입니다. 사람들이 여호와의 이름을 붙여 그대를 부른다는 것을요. 또 모든 백성이 그대를 두려워할 것입니다.	And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11	여호와께서는 그대 몸의 열매와 집짐승의 열매와 밭의 열매에 좋은 것이 넘쳐 나게 해 주실 것입니다. 그대에게 주시겠다고 그대의 조상들에게 굳게 약속하신 땅에서요.	And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12	여호와께서 자신의 보물 창고인 하늘을 그대를 위해 열어, 제철에 그대의 땅에 비를 내려 주실 것입니다. 그대가 무슨 일에 손대든지 복 주실 것입니다. 그래서 그대가 많은 민족에게 빌려주기는 하겠지만, 그대 자신이 빌리는 일은 없을 것입니다.	The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13	여호와께서 그대를 머리로 만들지, 꼬리로 만들지는 않으실 것입니다. 위로 올라가게만 하지, 아래로 내려가게 하지는 않으실 것입니다. 그대가 여호와 그대의 하나님의 명령, 곧 내가 오늘 그대에게 따라서 하라고 알려 주는 명령을 지켜 실행하기만 한다면요.	And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14	내가 오늘 그대에게 알려 주는 모든 말씀에서 오른쪽으로든 왼쪽으로든 벗어나지 마십시오. 그래서 다른 신들을 뒤따라가지 말고 섬기지도 마십시오.” ()	And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15	여호와의 목소리를 듣지 않으면 저주가 닥칩니다 “그렇지만 그대가 여호와 그대의 하나님 목소리를 듣지 않는다고 합시다. 내가 오늘 여러분에게 알려 주는 그분의 모든 명령과 규정을 지켜 실행하지 않는다고 합시다. 그러면 이 모든 저주가 그대에게 닥치고 미칠 것입니다.	But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
16	그대가 도시에 있어도 저주받고, 들판에 있어도 저주받을 것입니다.	Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
17	그대의 바구니도 밀가루 반죽 통도 저주받을 것입니다.	Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
18	그대 몸의 열매도 땅의 열매도 저주받을 것입니다. 송아지와 새끼 양도요.	Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
19	그대가 들어갈 때도 저주받고, 나갈 때도 저주받을 것입니다.	Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
20	여호와께서 그대에게 저주를 내리셔서, 혼란에 빠지고 위협을 느끼게 하실 것입니다. 그대가 하려고 무슨 일에 손대든지요. 마침내 그대가 뿌리 뽑히고 빨리 망할 것입니다. 그대가 여호와를 버리고 악한 짓을 한 것이니까요.	The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
21	여호와께서 그대에게 돌림병이 생기게 하실 것입니다. 마침내 그대가 들어가서 차지할 땅에서 그대를 끝장내 버리실 것입니다.	The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
22	여호와께서 그대를 치실 것입니다. 폐결핵과 염증과 열병, 불볕더위와 가뭄, 마름병과 흰가룻병으로요. 이런 것들이 그대를 뒤쫓아 가서 마침내 그대가 망해 버릴 것입니다.	The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
23	그대의 머리 위에 있는 하늘은 놋이 되고, 그대의 아래에 있는 땅은 쇠가 될 것입니다.	And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
24	여호와께서 흙 부스러기와 먼지를 그대의 땅에 비처럼 내리게 하실 것입니다. 이런 것이 하늘에서 내려올 것입니다. 마침내 그대가 뿌리 뽑혀 버릴 것입니다.	The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
25	여호와께서 그대가 그대의 원수들 앞에서 무너지게 하실 것입니다. 그대가 적을 향하여 한 길로 나갔다가 적 앞에서 일곱 길로 달아날 것입니다. 그러면 땅의 모든 왕국이 그대의 그런 모습을 보고 겁먹고 떨 것입니다.	The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
26	그대의 시체는 하늘의 온갖 새와 땅의 들짐승의 먹이가 될 것입니다. 그런데도 이것들을 쫓아내 줄 사람이 없을 것입니다.	And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
27	여호와께서 그대를 치실 것입니다. 이집트의 부스럼과 치질과 곪는 부스럼과 옴으로요. 이런 것들은 그대가 고칠 수 없습니다.	The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
28	여호와께서 미치는 것과 눈머는 것으로 치실 것입니다. 겁에 질림으로도요.	The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
29	그래서 그대가 한낮에도 더듬을 것입니다. 시각장애인이 캄캄함 가운데서 더듬는 것처럼요. 그대의 길이 잘 열리지 않을 것입니다. 그대가 모든 날에 억눌리고 빼앗기기만 하는데도, 도와줄 사람이 없을 것입니다.	And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
30	그대가 여자와 결혼하기로 약속해도 다른 남자가 그와 함께 누울 것입니다. 집을 지어도 그 집에 살지 못할 것입니다. 포도밭을 일구어도 그 열매를 맛보지 못할 것입니다.	Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
31	그대의 소를 사람들이 그대 눈앞에서 잡아도 그대는 그것을 먹지 못할 것입니다. 그대의 나귀를 빼앗겨도 돌려받지 못할 것입니다. 그대의 양 떼가 그대의 적들에게 넘어가도 그대를 도와줄 사람이 없을 것입니다.	Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
32	그대의 아들들과 딸들을 다른 민족이 데려가도 온종일 눈이 빠져라 애타게 기다릴 뿐, 손써 볼 힘이 없을 것입니다.	Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
33	그대 땅의 열매와 그대가 애써 얻은 것도 그대가 알지 못하는 민족이 모조리 삼켜 버릴 것입니다. 그대는 늘 억눌리고 짓눌릴 것입니다.	The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
34	또 미쳐 버릴 것입니다. 눈에 보이는 것 때문에요.	So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
35	여호와께서 치실 것입니다, 그대가 고칠 수 없는 독한 부스럼으로 그대의 양 무릎과 허벅다리를요. 그것이 발바닥에서 머리꼭지까지 번질 것입니다.	The Lord shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
36	여호와께서 그대를, 또 그대 위에 그대가 세운 임금을 끌려가게 하실 것입니다. 그대와 그대의 조상들이 알지 못하던 민족에게로요. 그래서 그대는 거기서 나무와 돌로 만든 다른 신들을 섬길 것입니다.	The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
37	그대는 끔찍한 본보기와 이야깃거리와 비웃음거리가 될 것입니다. 여호와께서 그대를 몰고 가신 모든 나라 백성 가운데서요.	And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee.
38	그대가 씨앗을 밭으로 많이 내어 가도, 거두어들일 것이 거의 없을 것입니다. 메뚜기가 먹어 치울 것이거든요.	Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
39	그대가 포도밭을 힘써 일구어도, 포도주를 마실 수 없고 포도를 따 들이지도 못할 것입니다. 벌레가 갉아 먹을 것이거든요.	Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
40	올리브나무가 그대의 온 영토에 있어도, 올리브기름을 몸에 발라 보지 못할 것입니다. 올리브 열매가 모조리 떨어질 것이거든요.	Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
41	아들들과 딸들이 태어나도, 그대와 함께 있지 못할 것입니다. 사로잡혀 끌려갈 것이거든요.	Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
42	그대에게 있는 모든 나무와 그대의 땅에서 나는 열매는 날벌레가 차지할 것입니다.	All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
43	그대 이스라엘 가운데 있는 나그네가 점점 더 높이 그대 위로 올라가고, 그대는 점점 더 내려갈 것입니다.	The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
44	나그네는 그대에게 빌려주지만, 그대는 그에게 빌려주지 못할 것입니다. 그가 머리가 되고, 그대는 꼬리가 될 것입니다.	He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
45	이 모든 저주가 그대에게 닥치고 그대를 뒤쫓아 가서 그대에게 미칠 것입니다. 마침내 그대가 뿌리 뽑혀 버릴 것입니다. 그대가 여호와 그대의 하나님의 목소리를 듣지 않고, 그분이 그대에게 명령하시는 명령들과 규정들을 따르지 않는다면요.	Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
46	이 모든 저주가 그대에게는 증표와 기적이 될 것입니다. 그대의 후손에게도 길이길이요.	And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
47	모든 것이 넉넉한데도, 그대가 여호와 그대의 하나님을 즐거이 기쁜 마음으로 섬기지 않는다면요.	Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48	그대는 여호와께서 그대 가운데로 보내신 적들을 섬길 것입니다. 굶주리고 목마르고 헐벗고, 모든 것이 모자라는 가운데서요. 여호와께서는 그대 목에 쇠 멍에를 지워 마침내 그대를 뿌리 뽑아 버리실 것입니다.	Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
49	그대를 쳐부수도록 여호와께서 한 나라를 땅끝 먼 데서 데려오실 것입니다. 그들은 독수리가 내리 덮치듯이 쳐들어올 것입니다. 그대는 그 나라 말을 알아듣지 못할 것입니다.	The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
50	그들은 얼굴이 무서운 민족입니다. 나이 든 사람의 사정을 봐주지 않고, 젊은이를 불쌍히 여길 줄 모릅니다.	A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
51	그대 집짐승의 열매와 밭의 열매를 집어삼킬 것입니다. 마침내 그대가 뿌리 뽑혀 버릴 것입니다. 그들은 곡식과 포도주와 기름과 송아지와 새끼 양을 그대를 위해 남겨 두지 않을 것입니다. 마침내 그대를 망하게 할 것입니다.	And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
52	그들이 그대를 에워싸서 성문 안에 가두어 둘 것입니다. 마침내 그대의 온 땅에서 그대가 믿었던 높고도 튼튼한 성벽이 무너질 것입니다. 그들이 그대를 에워싸서 그대를 성문 안에 가두어 둘 것입니다. 여호와 그대의 하나님께서 그대에게 주신 온 땅에서요.	And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.
53	그대는 여호와 그대의 하나님이 주신 열매, 곧 그대 몸의 열매인 아들과 딸의 살을 먹을 것입니다. 적에게 에워싸이고 몰릴 때에요.	And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
54	그대 이스라엘 가운데 나약한 남자, 심하게 응석받이로 자란 남자가 있을 수 있습니다. 그런 남자도 자기 형제와 품 안의 아내와 남은 자식에게 사나운 눈길을 보낼 것입니다.	So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
55	자식의 살을 그들 누구에게도 주지 않고 남김없이 다 먹어 버릴 것입니다. 그대의 모든 성문 안에서 적에게 에워싸이고 몰릴 때에요.	So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
56	그대 이스라엘 가운데 나약한 여자, 응석받이로 자란 여자가 있을 수 있습니다. 응석 부리거나 나약하거나 해서 자기 발을 땅 위에 놓으려고도 하지 않던 여자일 수 있습니다. 그런 여자도 자기 품 안의 남편과 아들과 딸에게 사나운 눈길을 보낼 것입니다.	The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
57	자신의 다리 사이에서 나온 태와 자신이 낳은 자식을, 모든 것이 모자라자 몰래 잡아먹을 것이거든요. 그대의 성문 안에서 그대가 적에게 에워싸이고 몰릴 때에요.	And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
58	이 책에 적힌 이 가르침의 모든 말씀을 그대가 잘 지켜 실행하지 않으면, 이런 일이 생길 것입니다. 높이 떠받들고 두려워해야 할 이 이름, 여호와 그대의 하나님을 두려워하지 않으면요.	If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
59	여호와께서 그대와 그대의 후손에게 특별한 재앙을 내리실 것입니다. 오래 지속될 여러 가지 엄청난 재앙과 오래갈 여러 가지 무서운 질병을요.	Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
60	그대가 겁냈던 이집트의 모든 병을 여호와께서 다시 그대에게 생기게 하여 그대에게서 떠나지 않게 하실 것입니다.	Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
61	이 가르침의 책에 적지 않은 온갖 질병과 재앙도 여호와께서 그대에게 닥치게 하실 것입니다. 마침내 그대가 뿌리 뽑혀 버릴 것입니다.	Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the Lord bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
62	그대들이 전에는 하늘의 별처럼 많아졌지만, 겨우 몇 사람만 남을 것입니다. 그대가 여호와 그대의 하나님의 목소리를 듣지 않으면요.	And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the Lord thy God.
63	여호와께서는 그대들을 잘되고 많아지게 해 주시고 기뻐하셨습니다. 그처럼 여호와께서 그대들을 망하게 하고 뿌리 뽑아 버리시고는 기뻐하실 것입니다. 그래서 그대들은 그대가 들어가서 차지한 땅에서 뿌리 뽑혀 버릴 것입니다.	And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
64	여호와께서 땅 이 끝에서 저 끝까지 모든 민족 가운데로 그대를 흩어 버리실 것입니다. 그래서 그대는 거기서 다른 신들을 섬길 것입니다. 그대와 그대의 조상들이 알지 못했던 신들, 곧 나무와 돌로 만든 신들을요.	And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65	또 그 여러 나라에서는 그대가 안정을 누리지 못할 것입니다. 그대의 발바닥을 편히 둘 곳이 없을 것입니다. 거기서 여호와께서는 그대의 마음이 떨리고 눈이 흐려지고 기가 꺾이게 하실 것입니다.	And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66	그대는 공중에 매달려 사는 것 같을 것입니다. 밤낮으로 무서워하고, 평생 믿을 것 하나 없을 것입니다.	And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
67	아침에는 ‘어서 저녁이 되었으면!’이라고 말하고, 저녁에는 ‘어서 아침이 되었으면!’이라고 말할 것입니다. 마음으로 무서워하는 것과 눈에 보이는 것 때문에요.	In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
68	여호와께서 그대를 배에 태워 이집트 가는 길로 돌려보내실 것입니다. 내가 그대에게 말하기를 ‘그대가 그 길을 다시는 보지 않을 겁니다.’ 했던 길로요. 거기서 그대 이스라엘이 적들에게 자기 몸을 팔아넘겨 남자 노예와 여자 노예가 되려고 해도 사 줄 사람이 없을 것입니다.”	And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
