1	다른 신들을 섬기자는 말을 듣지 마십시오 “그대 이스라엘 가운데서 예언자나 꿈쟁이가 일어나서 그대에게 증표나 기적을 예고했다고 합시다.	If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
2	그가 그대에게 말한 증표와 기적이 나타나고, 그가 ‘여러분이 알지 못하는 다른 신들을 뒤따라가서 섬깁시다!’ 하고 말한다고 합시다.	And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
3	그럴 때 그 예언자나 꿈쟁이의 말을 듣지 마십시오. 여호와 그대들의 하나님이 시험해 보시는 것이니까요. 그대들이 온 마음과 온 정성으로 여호와 그대들의 하나님을 사랑하는지 알아보시려고요.	Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4	여호와 그대들의 하나님을 뒤따라가도록 하십시오. 그분을 두려워하고 그분의 명령을 따르도록 하십시오. 그분의 목소리를 듣고 그분을 섬기고 그분께 붙어 있도록 하십시오.	Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
5	그런 예언자나 꿈쟁이는 죽이도록 하십시오. 여호와 그대들의 하나님을 거슬러 틀린 것을 말했으니까요. 여호와는 그대들을 이집트 땅에서 이끌어 내 주신 분이십니다. 노예살이하던 집에서 그대를 빼내 주신 분이십니다. 그런데도 그런 예언자와 꿈쟁이는 그대를 잘못 이끌어 여호와 그대의 하나님이 그대에게 가라고 명령하신 길에서 벗어나게 했으니까요. 이처럼 나쁜 짓은 그대 이스라엘 가운데서 뿌리 뽑아 버리도록 하십시오.	And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the Lord thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
6	그대의 형제나 아들이나 딸이나 그대 품의 아내나 그대 자신과 다름없는 친구가 몰래 그대를 부추긴다고 합시다. 가서 그대와 그대의 조상들이 알지 못하던 다른 신들을 섬겨 보자고 한다 합시다.	If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
7	가깝든지 멀든지 이 땅 끝에서 저 땅 끝까지 그대 둘레 백성들의 신들을 섬겨 보자고 한다 합시다.	Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
8	그러면 그런 말은 따르지도 말고 듣지도 마십시오. 그런 사람은 가엾이 여기는 눈으로도 보지 마십시오. 불쌍히 여기지도 말고, 감싸 주지도 마십시오.	Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
9	그를 반드시 죽이도록 하십시오. 그를 죽일 때, 그대가 먼저 그에게 손대도록 하십시오. 온 백성은 나중에야 손대고요.	But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
10	그에게 돌을 던져 죽이도록 하십시오. 그가 그대를 여호와 그대의 하나님에게서 떼어 놓으려 했으니까요. 여호와께서는 이집트 땅 곧 노예살이하던 집에서 그대를 이끌어 내신 분이십니다.	And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
11	그러면 온 이스라엘이 듣고 두려워할 것입니다. 이런 나쁜 일을 그대 가운데서 더는 하지 않을 것입니다.	And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.
12	여호와 그대의 하나님이 그대에게 주어 살게 하신 어떤 도시에서 이런 말을 들었다고 합시다.	If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the Lord thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
13	‘그대 이스라엘 가운데서 몹쓸 사람들이 나와서 도시 주민을 이런 말로 유혹하고 있다. 「가서 그대들이 알지 못하던 다른 신들을 섬기자!」’	Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
14	그러면 잘 조사해 보고 알아보고 캐물어 보도록 하십시오. 아뿔싸, 그 일이 사실로 판명되고, 이 역겨운 일이 그대 가운데서 일어났다고 합시다.	Then shalt thou enquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;
15	그러면 그 도시 주민을 날카로운 칼로 쳐 완전히 없애 버리도록 하십시오. 그 도시와 그 안에 있는 모든 것과 집짐승을 날카로운 칼로 쳐 완전히 없애 버리도록 하십시오.	Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
16	거기서 약탈한 것은 모조리 광장 한가운데에 모으도록 하십시오. 그 도시와 거기서 빼앗은 모든 것을 여호와 그대의 하나님께 통째로 바치는 제물로 삼아 불에 태우십시오. 그 도시는 영원히 폐허 언덕이 될 것입니다. 다시 세우지 못할 것입니다.	And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the Lord thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
17	여호와께 완전히 바치는 것은 그대 손으로 조금도 건드리지 마십시오. 그러면 여호와께서 뜨거운 분노를 푸시고 그대에게 자비를 베풀어 주실 것입니다. 그대를 자비롭게 대하셔서 불어나게 하실 것입니다. 그대의 조상들에게 굳게 약속하신 대로 그렇게 해 주실 것입니다.	And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the Lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;
18	그대가 여호와 그대의 하나님의 목소리를 들은 것이니까요. 그래서 오늘 내가 그대에게 알려 주는 그분의 모든 명령을 따른 것이니까요. 여호와 그대의 하나님이 보시기에 올바른 일을 한 것이니까요.”	When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the Lord thy God.
