1	에브라임 사람들과 싸우다 불려 나온 에브라임 사람들이 북쪽으로 건너가 입다에게 따졌다. “암몬 사람들에게로 건너가 쳐들어가면서 왜 우리는 함께 가자고 부르지 않았소? 당신의 집을 당신과 같이 불태워 버리겠소.”	And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.
2	입다가 그들에게 말했다. “나는 내 백성과 함께 암몬 사람들과 격렬하게 다투고 있었던 사람입니다. 그때 내가 여러분을 불러 모으려 했는데, 여러분은 그들의 손에서 나를 구해 주지 않았지요.	And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.
3	여러분이 나를 구해 내 주지 않는 것을 보고 나는 목숨을 걸고 암몬 사람들에게로 건너갔어요. 그랬더니 여호와께서 그들을 내 손에 넘겨주셨지요. 그런데 왜 여러분은 오늘 나에게로 올라와서 나와 싸우려는 것인가요?”	And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the Lord delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?
4	입다는 길르앗 사람들을 다 모아서 에브라임과 싸웠다. 길르앗 사람들이 에브라임을 쳐부수었다. 에브라임 사람들이 이렇게 말했기 때문이다. “너희 길르앗 사람들은 에브라임에서 빠져나온 사람들로, 에브라임 가운데도 있고 므낫세 가운데도 있지.”	Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.
5	길르앗이 에브라임으로 들어가는 요르단강의 여러 나루를 차지했다. 빠져나온 에브라임 사람들이 건너가게 해 달라고 하자, 길르앗 사람들이 그가 에브라임 사람인지 물었다. 그가 아니라고 대답했다.	And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;
6	그러자 그에게 쉽볼렛이라고 말해 보라고 했다. 그런데 그는 십볼렛이라고 했다. 하라는 대로 발음할 수 없었기 때문이다. 그래서 그를 붙잡아서 요르단강 나루에서 죽였다. 그때 에브라임 사람 가운데서 42,000명이 쓰러졌다.	Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
7	입다가 6년 동안 이스라엘을 재판관(사사)으로서 이끌었다. 길르앗 사람 입다가 죽어 그의 도시 길르앗에 묻혔다.	And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in one of the cities of Gilead.
8	입산이 이스라엘을 이끌다 그 뒤에 이스라엘을 재판관(사사)으로서 이끈 사람은 입산인데, 그는 베들레헴 출신이었다.	And after him Ibzan of Beth–lehem judged Israel.
9	그에게는 30명의 아들이 있었다. 30명의 딸은 밖으로 시집 보냈다. 아들들을 위해서는 30명의 여자를 밖에서 데려왔다. 입산은 7년 동안 이스라엘을 재판관(사사)으로서 이끌었다.	And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, whom he sent abroad, and took in thirty daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years.
10	입산은 죽어 베들레헴에 묻혔다.	Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Beth–lehem.
11	엘론이 이스라엘을 이끌다 그 뒤에 이스라엘을 재판관(사사)으로서 이끈 사람은 스불론 사람 엘론이었다. 이스라엘을 재판관(사사)으로서 10년 동안 이끌었다.	And after him Elon, a Zebulonite, judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years.
12	스불론 사람 엘론이 죽어 스불론 땅 아얄론에 묻혔다.	And Elon the Zebulonite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the country of Zebulun.
13	압돈이 이스라엘을 이끌다 그 뒤에 이스라엘을 재판관(사사)으로서 이끈 사람은 힐렐의 아들인 비라돈 사람 압돈이었다.	And after him Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel.
14	그에게는 40명의 아들과 30명의 손자가 있었다. 그들은 수탕나귀 70마리를 탔다. 압돈이 8년 동안 이스라엘을 재판관(사사)으로서 이끌었다.	And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years.
15	힐렐의 아들인 비라돈 사람 압돈이 죽어 에브라임 땅 비라돈에 묻혔다. 그곳은 아말렉 산지에 있었다.	And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites.
