1	모압 벌판에서 군대에 갈 만한 사람 수를 조사하다 재앙이 있은 뒤였다. 여호와께서 모세와 아론의 아들 엘르아살 제사장에게 말씀하셨다.	And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,
2	“너희는 이스라엘 사람들의 온 무리가 얼마나 되는지 머릿수를 세어 보아라. 이스라엘 가운데서 20세 이상 남자로 군대에 갈 만한 모든 사람의 수를 아버지 쪽 집안에 따라 세어 보아라.”	Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their fathers’ house, all that are able to go to war in Israel.
3	모세와 엘르아살 제사장이 백성과 이야기를 나누었다. 여리고에 가까운 요르단 맞은편 모압 벌판에서였다.	And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,
4	여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로, 20세 이상 남자의 수를 조사했다. 이집트 땅에서 빠져나온 이스라엘 사람들은 이러하다.	Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the Lord commanded Moses and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt.
5	이스라엘의 맏아들은 르우벤이다. 르우벤 자손은 하녹에게서 나온 하녹 가문과 발루에게서 나온 발루 가문이다.	Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben; Hanoch, of whom cometh the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:
6	또 헤스론에게서 나온 헤스론 가문과 갈미에게서 나온 갈미 가문이다.	Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
7	이들이 르우벤의 여러 가문인데, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 43,730명이었다.	These are the families of the Reubenites: and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
8	발루의 아들은 엘리압이다.	And the sons of Pallu; Eliab.
9	엘리압의 아들은 느무엘, 다단, 아비람이다. 이 다단과 아비람은 전체 모임에서 뽑힌 사람들인데, 고라흐의 무리에 들어 그들이 여호와와 맞서 다툴 때 모세와 아론에게 맞서 다투었다.	And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, which were famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the Lord:
10	땅이 입을 열어 이들과 고라흐를 삼켰다. 불이 250명을 삼켜 무리가 죽던 때였다. 이들은 경고의 본보기가 되었다.	And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.
11	고라흐의 아들들은 죽지 않았다.	Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not.
12	시므온 자손은 가문에 따라 느무엘에게서 나온 느무엘 가문과 야민에게서 나온 야민 가문과 야긴에게서 나온 야긴 가문이다.	The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites: of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites: of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:
13	또 세라흐에게서 나온 세라흐 가문과 사울에게서 나온 사울 가문이다.	Of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites: of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
14	이들은 시므온 사람들의 여러 가문으로 22,200명이었다.	These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.
15	갓 자손은 가문에 따라 스본에게서 나온 스본 가문과 학기에게서 나온 학기 가문과 수니에게서 나온 수니 가문이다.	The children of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites: of Haggi, the family of the Haggites: of Shuni, the family of the Shunites:
16	또 오스니에게서 나온 오스니 가문과 에리에게서 나온 에리 가문이다.	Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites: of Eri, the family of the Erites:
17	또 아롯에게서 나온 아롯 가문과 아렐리에게서 나온 아렐리 가문이다.	Of Arod, the family of the Arodites: of Areli, the family of the Arelites.
18	이들은 갓 사람들의 여러 가문으로, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 40,500명이었다.	These are the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.
19	유다의 아들은 에르와 오난인데, 에르와 오난은 가나안 땅에서 죽었다.	The sons of Judah were Er and Onan: and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
20	유다 자손은 가문에 따라 셀라에게서 나온 셀라 가문과 베레스에게서 나온 베레스 가문과 세라흐에게서 나온 세라흐 가문이다.	And the sons of Judah after their families were; of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites: of Pharez, the family of the Pharzites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.
21	베레스 자손은 헤스론에게서 나온 헤스론 가문과 하물에게서 나온 하물 가문이다.	And the sons of Pharez were; of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
22	이들은 유다의 여러 가문으로, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 76,500명이었다.	These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.
23	잇사갈 자손은 가문에 따라 돌라에게서 나온 돌라 가문과 부와에게서 나온 부니 가문이다.	Of the sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Pua, the family of the Punites:
24	또 야숩에게서 나온 야숩 가문과 시므론에게서 나온 시므론 가문이다.	Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites: of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.
25	이들은 잇사갈의 여러 가문으로, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 64,300명이었다.	These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.
26	스불론 자손은 가문에 따라 세렛에게서 나온 세렛 가문과 엘론에게서 나온 엘론 가문과 야흘르엘에게서 나온 야흘르엘 가문이다.	Of the sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Sardites: of Elon, the family of the Elonites: of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.
27	이들은 스불론 사람들의 여러 가문으로, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 60,500명이었다.	These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.
28	요셉 자손은 가문에 따라 므낫세 가문과 에브라임 가문이다.	The sons of Joseph after their families were Manasseh and Ephraim.
29	므낫세 자손은 마길에게서 나온 마길 가문이다. 마길은 길르앗을 낳았다. 또 길르앗에게서 나온 길르앗 가문이다.	Of the sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites: and Machir begat Gilead: of Gilead come the family of the Gileadites.
30	길르앗 자손은 이러했다. 이에셀에게서 나온 이에셀 가문과 헬렉에게서 나온 헬렉 가문이다.	These are the sons of Gilead: of Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites: of Helek, the family of the Helekites:
31	또 아스리엘에게서 나온 아스리엘 가문과 세겜에게서 나온 세겜 가문이다.	And of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites: and of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites:
32	또 스미다에게서 나온 스미다 가문과 헤벨에게서 나온 헤벨 가문이다.	And of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites: and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
33	헤벨의 아들이 슬로브핫인데, 그에게는 아들이 없고 딸만 있었다. 슬로브핫의 딸 이름은 마흘라, 노아, 호글라, 밀가, 디르사였다.	And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
34	이들은 므낫세의 여러 가문으로, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 52,700명이었다.	These are the families of Manasseh, and those that were numbered of them, fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.
35	에브라임 자손은 가문에 따라 이러했다. 수델라흐에게서 나온 수델라흐 가문과 베겔에게서 나온 베겔 가문과 다한에게서 나온 다한 가문이다.	These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites: of Becher, the family of the Bachrites: of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
36	수델라흐 사람들은 이러했다. 곧 에란에게서 나온 에란 가문이다.	And these are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.
37	이들은 에브라임 자손의 여러 가문으로, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 32,500명이었다. 그들은 가문에 따라 조사된 요셉 사람들이었다.	These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.
38	베냐민 자손은 가문에 따라 벨라에게서 나온 벨라 가문과 아스벨에게서 나온 아스벨 가문과 아히람에게서 나온 아히람 가문이다.	The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites: of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites: of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites:
39	또 수밤에게서 나온 수밤 가문과 후밤에게서 나온 후밤 가문이다.	Of Shupham, the family of the Shuphamites: of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
40	또 아릇에게서 나온 아릇 가문과 나아만에게서 나온 나아만 가문이다. 아릇과 나아만은 벨라의 아들이다.	And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: of Ard, the family of the Ardites: and of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
41	이들은 가문에 따른 베냐민 자손으로, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 45,600명이었다.	These are the sons of Benjamin after their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.
42	단 자손은 가문에 따라 이러했다. 수함에게서 나온 수함 가문이다. 단의 여러 가문은 가문에 따라 이러했다.	These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
43	그 가운데서 조사된 수함 사람들의 모든 가문은 64,400명이었다.	All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were threescore and four thousand and four hundred.
44	아셀 자손은 가문에 따라 임나에게서 나온 임나 가문과 이스위에게서 나온 이스위 가문과 브리아에게서 나온 브리아 가문이다.	Of the children of Asher after their families: of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites: of Jesui, the family of the Jesuites: of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.
45	브리아 자손은 헤벨에게서 나온 헤벨 가문과 말기엘에게서 나온 말기엘 가문이다.	Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites: of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
46	아셀의 딸 이름은 세라흐이다.	And the name of the daughter of Asher was Sarah.
47	이들은 아셀 자손의 여러 가문으로, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 53,400명이었다.	These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them; who were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
48	납달리 자손은 가문에 따라 야흐스엘에게서 나온 야흐스엘 가문과 구니에게서 나온 구니 가문이다.	Of the sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites: of Guni, the family of the Gunites:
49	또 예셀에게서 나온 예셀 가문과 실렘에게서 나온 실렘 가문이다.	Of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites: of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
50	이들은 납달리의 여러 가문으로, 그 가운데서 조사된 사람은 45,400명이었다.	These are the families of Naphtali according to their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.
51	이렇게 조사된 이스라엘 사람은 601,730명이었다.	These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.
52	여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.	And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
53	“이들에게 명수에 맞추어 땅을 나누어 받게 하여라.	Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
54	수가 많을 때에는 나누어 받을 땅을 늘려 주고, 수가 적을 때에는 나누어 받을 땅을 줄여 주어라. 조사된 수에 맞추어, 땅을 나누어 주어야 한다.	To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.
55	다만 제비로 땅을 나누어 주고, 아버지 쪽 지파의 이름에 따라 물려주어야 한다.	Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
56	제비에 따라 땅을 나누어 주어야 하는데, 수가 많은 경우와 적은 경우를 구별하여 한다.”	According to the lot shall the possession thereof be divided between many and few.
57	레위 사람들 가운데서 가문에 따라 조사된 사람들은 이러했다. 게르손에게서 나온 게르손 가문과 그핫에게서 나온 그핫 가문과 므라리에게서 나온 므라리 가문이다.	And these are they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites: of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites: of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
58	레위의 여러 가문은 이러했다. 립니 가문과 헤브론 가문과 마흘리 가문과 무시 가문과 고라흐 가문이다. 그핫은 아므람을 낳았다.	These are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.
59	아므람의 아내 이름은 요게벳이었다. 요게벳은 레위의 딸로 이집트에서 태어나 아므람에게 아론, 모세, 그들의 누이 미리암을 낳아 주었다.	And the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom her mother bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60	아론에게는 나답, 아비후, 엘르아살, 이다말이 태어났다.	And unto Aaron was born Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
61	나답과 아비후는 여호와 앞에서, 낯선 불을 가져온 탓에 죽었다.	And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the Lord.
62	그들 가운데서 조사된 사람으로 1개월 이상 된 남자는 모두 23,000명이었다. 그들은 이스라엘 사람들의 수에 넣지 않았다. 이스라엘 사람들 가운데서 그들에게는 물려받을 땅을 나누어 주지 않았기 때문이다.	And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all males from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.
63	이들은 여리고에 가까운 요르단 맞은편 모압 벌판에서 모세와 엘르아살 제사장이 조사했던 이스라엘 사람들이었다.	These are they that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
64	이들 가운데에는, 시나이 광야에서 모세와 제사장 아론이 이스라엘 사람들의 수를 조사할 때 그들에게 조사되었던 사람은 한 사람도 없었다.	But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
65	여호와께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하시기를, 그들은 반드시 광야에서 죽을 것이라고 하셨기 때문이다. 그들 가운데서 남아 있는 사람은 여분네의 아들 갈렙과 눈의 아들 여호수아뿐이었다.	For the Lord had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
