1	슬로브핫 딸들의 요청을 받아들이다 슬로브핫의 딸들이 나섰다. 슬로브핫은 헤벨의 아들이자 길르앗의 손자이자 마길의 증손자이자 므낫세의 고손자로 요셉의 아들 므낫세 가문의 사람이었다. 그 딸들의 이름은 이러했다. 마흘라, 노아, 호글라, 밀가, 디르사였다.	Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.
2	그들이 만남의 천막 입구에서 모세와 제사장 엘르아살과 우두머리들과 온 무리 앞에 서서 말했다.	And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
3	“우리 아버지는 광야에서 돌아가셨습니다. 아버지는 여호와께 맞서 모였던 고라흐 무리에 들지는 않았고, 자신의 죄 때문에 돌아가셨습니다. 그런데 아버지에게는 아들이 없습니다.	Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the Lord in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons.
4	아들이 없다고 아버지 이름을 가문 가운데서 빼내려 하시다니, 어떻게 그럴 수 있나요? 아버지가 차지했던 땅을 우리에게 주셔서, 우리가 아버지 형제분들 가운데 머물게 해 주십시오.”	Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
5	모세는 그들의 문제를 가지고 여호와 앞에 나아가 여쭈었다.	And Moses brought their cause before the Lord.
6	여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.	And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
7	“슬로브핫의 딸들이 옳은 말을 한 것이다. 아버지가 차지했던 땅을 그 딸들에게 주어서, 딸들이 아버지 형제들 가운데서 머물게 해 주어라. 아버지가 나누어 받은 땅이 딸들에게 넘어가게 해 주어라.	The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father’s brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.
8	이스라엘 사람들에게 이렇게 말해 주어라. ‘어떤 사람이 아들 없이 죽으면, 그가 나누어 받은 땅은 딸에게 넘어가도록 해야 한다.	And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.
9	딸도 없으면, 그의 형제에게 주어야 한다.	And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren.
10	형제도 없으면, 아버지의 형제에게 주어야 한다.	And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father’s brethren.
11	아버지의 형제도 없으면, 남아 있는 가문 사람 가운데서 가장 가까운 사람에게 주어 차지하게 해야 한다. 그것은 여호와가 모세에게 명령한 대로 이스라엘 사람들이 지킬 법령의 규정이 될 것이다.’” ()	And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the Lord commanded Moses.
12	여호수아에게 모세의 일을 넘겨주다 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. “이 아바림산으로 올라가서 내가 이스라엘 사람들에게 준 땅을 보아라!	And the Lord said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.
13	네가 그 땅을 보고 나서는, 너의 형 아론이 조상들에게 간 것처럼 너도 조상들에게로 갈 것이다.	And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.
14	친 광야에서 무리가 다툴 때 너희가 내 명령을 거슬렀기 때문이다. 내가 거룩함을 네가 그들의 눈앞에서 물로써 드러내 보이지 않았기 때문이지. 친 광야 가데스의 므리바의 물 말이다.”	For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
15	모세가 여호와께 아뢰었다.	And Moses spake unto the Lord, saying,
16	“생명체라면 무엇에게나 생명의 숨결을 주시는 여호와 하나님, 이 무리를 맡아 돌볼 사람을 정해 주십시오!	Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,
17	그들 앞에서 나가기도 하고 그들 앞에서 들어오기도 할 사람, 또 그들을 이끌고 나가기도 하고 그들을 이끌고 들어오기도 할 사람을 정해 주십시오. 그리하여 여호와의 온 무리가 목자 없는 양 떼처럼 되지 않게 해 주십시오.”	Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep which have no shepherd.
18	여호와께서 모세에게 대답하셨다. “눈의 아들 여호수아를 데려오너라! 그는 나의 영에 사로잡힌 사람이다. 너의 손을 여호수아 위에 얹거라.	And the Lord said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay thine hand upon him;
19	너는 여호수아를 엘르아살 제사장과 온 무리 앞에 세우고, 그들의 눈앞에서 너의 일을 그에게 넘겨주어라.	And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
20	너에게 있던 힘의 얼마를 여호수아에게 넘겨서, 이스라엘 사람들의 온 무리가 그의 말을 듣게 해라.	And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.
21	여호수아는 엘르아살 제사장 앞에 서고, 엘르아살은 그를 위해 여호와 앞에서 우림의 판결을 여쭙게 해라. 엘르아살의 말에 따라 나가게 하고, 엘르아살의 말에 따라 들어오게 해라. 여호수아도, 그와 같이 있는 모든 이스라엘 사람들도, 온 무리도 그렇게 해라.”	And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the Lord: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.
22	모세는 여호와께서 그에게 명령하신 대로 했다. 여호수아를 데리고 와서 엘르아살 제사장과 온 무리 앞에 세웠다.	And Moses did as the Lord commanded him: and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:
23	여호수아 위에 손을 얹고 자신의 일을 그에게 넘겨주었다. 여호와께서 모세를 통해 말씀하신 대로였다.	And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses.
