1	징표 요구를 물리치시다 바리새파 사람들과 사두개파 사람들이 다가와서 예수님을 떠보려고 했다. 그들은 하늘로부터 오는 징표를 자기들에게 보여 달라고 요청했다.	The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
2	예수님이 대답하셨다. “저녁이 되었을 때 당신들은 이렇게 말합니다. ‘날씨가 좋겠구나. 하늘이 붉은 것을 보니까.’	He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3	또 아침에는 이렇게 말합니다. ‘오늘은 날씨가 나쁘겠구나. 하늘이 붉고 찌푸린 것을 보니까.’ 당신들이 하늘의 변화는 알아볼 줄 알면서, 때의 징표들은 알아볼 수 없습니까?	And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
4	악하고 배신하는 세대가 징표를 강하게 요구하고 있습니다. 그러나 이 세대는 요나의 징표 말고는 징표를 받지 못할 겁니다.” 그리고 예수님은 그들을 놓아두고 떠나 버리셨다. ()	A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
5	바리새파 사람과 사두개파 사람의 가르침을 주의하라 제자들이 바다 건너편으로 갔다. 그런데 깜빡 잊고 빵을 챙겨 가지 않았다.	And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
6	예수님이 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “조심하세요! 바리새파 사람과 사두개파 사람의 누룩에 경계심을 가지세요!”	Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
7	제자들이 자기네끼리 이야기를 주고받으며 말했다. “우리가 빵을 안 가져왔다.”	And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
8	이것을 알아차리시고 예수님이 물어보셨다. “그대들에게 빵이 없는 것을 두고 왜 그대들끼리 수군수군하는 겁니까? 믿음이 작은 사람들이여!	Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
9	아직도 알아듣지 못하나요? 기억하지 못하나요? 빵 다섯 개로 5,000명이 먹고 또 남은 것을 모으니 바구니로 얼마나 되었는지를?	Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
10	빵 일곱 개로 4,000명이 먹고 또 남은 것을 모으니 광주리로 얼마나 되었는지를?	Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11	어째서 그대들은 알아듣지 못합니까, 내가 그대들에게 한 말은 빵에 대한 게 아니라는 것을요? 바리새파 사람들과 사두개파 사람들의 누룩을 주의하세요!”	How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
12	그때에야 그들은, 예수님이 주의하라고 말씀하신 것이 빵의 누룩이 아니라 바리새파 사람과 사두개파 사람의 가르침이라는 것을 이해했다. (; )	Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
13	베드로가 예수님을 그리스도라고 고백하다 예수님이 필립의 카이사레아의 여러 지역으로 가셔서 제자들에게 물으셨다. “사람들이 인자를 누구라고 하나요?”	When Jesus came into the coasts of Cesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14	제자들이 대답했다. “어떤 사람들은 세례자 요한이라고 합니다. 다른 사람들은 엘리야라고 하고, 또 다른 사람들은 예레미야이거나 예언자 가운데 한 분이라고 합니다.”	And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15	예수님이 제자들에게 물으신다. “그러면 그대들, 그대들은 나를 누구라고 하나요?”	He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16	시몬 베드로가 대답했다. “선생님이야말로 그리스도이십니다. 살아 계신 하나님의 아드님이십니다.”	And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17	예수님이 베드로에게 대답하셨다. “그대는 복 있습니다! 시몬 바르요나! 그대에게 이것을 드러내신 분은 사람이 아니라 내 아버지, 곧 하늘에 계신 분이십니다.	And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18	나도 역시 그대에게 말합니다. 그대야말로 베드로(바위)입니다. 이 바위 위에 나의 교회를 세울 것입니다. 하데스의 문들이 교회를 힘으로 누르지 못할 겁니다.	And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19	그대에게 하늘나라의 열쇠들을 줄 겁니다. 그대가 무엇이든 땅에서 묶어 두면 하늘에서도 묶여 있을 겁니다. 또 그대가 무엇이든 땅에서 풀어 두면 하늘에서도 풀려 있을 겁니다.”	And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20	그때에 예수님이 제자들에게 단단히 일러, 자기가 그리스도라는 것을 아무에게도 말하지 말라고 하셨다. (; )	Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
21	고난, 죽음, 부활을 미리 알려 주시다 그때부터 예수님이 제자들에게 이렇게 드러내기 시작하셨다. “내가 반드시 예루살렘으로 가야 합니다. 원로들과 대제사장들과 율법학자들한테서 고난을 많이 겪어야 합니다. 죽임당해야 합니다. 그러나 3일째 날에는 일으킴받아 살아나야 합니다.”	From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22	그러자 베드로가 예수님을 곁으로 끌어당기고는 나무라듯 말씀드리기 시작했다. “그럴 수는 없어요, 주님! 이 일이 절대로 주님께 일어나지 않을 것입니다.”	Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23	예수님이 몸을 돌리시고는 베드로에게 대답하셨다. “내 뒤로 사라져라, 사탄아! 너는 나를 걸려 넘어지게 하는 자다. 네가 하나님의 일이 아니라 사람의 일에 마음을 두기 때문이다!” (; )	But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
24	자신을 내려놓고 십자가를 메고 따라오라 그때에 예수님이 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “누구든지 나를 뒤따라오려면 자신을 완전히 내려놓고 자기 십자가를 메고 나를 따라오기 바랍니다.	Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25	누구든지 자기 목숨을 구하려고 하면 잃어버릴 것입니다. 그러나 누구든지 나 때문에 자기 목숨을 잃는 사람은 목숨을 찾을 것입니다.	For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26	사람이 온 세상을 얻고도 자기 목숨이 위태로워진다면, 무슨 쓸모가 있겠습니까? 또는 사람이 자기 목숨값으로 무엇을 내놓겠습니까?	For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27	인자가 자기 아버지의 영광을 떨치며 자기 천사들과 함께 머지않아 올 겁니다. 그리고 그때에 저마다 한 일을 따라 갚아 줄 겁니다.	For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
28	아멘 그대들에게 말합니다. 여기 서 있는 사람들 가운데 몇 명은 절대로 죽음을 맛보지 않을 것입니다. 인자가 자기 나라를 다스리러 오는 것을 마침내 볼 때까지는요.”	Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
