1	성령님 안에 있는 생명 그러므로 이제 그리스도 예수님 안에 있는 사람들에게는 유죄 판결이 없습니다.	There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2	그리스도 예수님 안에서 생명을 주시는 성령님의 법이 죄와 죽음의 법에서 그대를 자유롭게 해 주었기 때문입니다.	For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3	율법이 육신 탓에 무력해져서 할 수 없었던 그것을 하나님이 하셨습니다. 하나님은 자신의 아들을 죄가 활동하는 몸뚱이를 지닌 모습으로, 죄를 없애 주시려고 보내셨습니다. 그리하여 그 육신에서 활동하는 죄에게 유죄 판결을 내리셨던 것입니다.	For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4	육신을 따르지 않고 성령님을 따라 살아가는 우리 가운데서 율법이 규정하는 일이 이루어지도록 하시려는 것이었습니다.	That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5	육신을 따라 사는 사람들은 육신의 일들에, 성령님을 따라 사는 사람들은 성령님의 일들에 마음을 둡니다.	For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6	육신에 마음을 두는 삶은 죽음을 가져오고, 성령님께 마음을 두는 삶은 생명과 평화를 가져옵니다.	For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7	육신에 마음을 두는 것은 하나님께 맞서 원수가 되는 일이기 때문입니다. 그것은 하나님의 법을 따르지 않을 뿐만 아니라 그렇게 할 수도 없습니다.	Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8	육신에 사로잡혀 있는 사람들은 하나님 마음에 들 수 없습니다.	So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9	그런데 여러분은 육신에 사로잡혀 있지 않고, 성령님 안에 있습니다. 하나님의 영이 여러분 안에 자리 잡고 살고 계시다면 말입니다. 하지만 누구든 그리스도의 영이 없으면, 이런 사람은 그리스도의 사람이 아닙니다.	But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10	그리스도께서 여러분 안에 계시면, 비록 몸은 죄 때문에 죽은 것이지만, 영은 의를 통해 생명을 누립니다.	And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11	죽은 사람들 가운데서 예수님을 일으켜 살리신 분의 영이 여러분 안에 자리 잡고 산다고 합시다. 그러면 죽은 사람들 가운데서 그리스도를 일으켜 살리신 분이 여러분의 죽을 몸도 살려 주실 것입니다. 여러분 안에 자리 잡고 사시는 바로 그 성령님을 통해서요.	But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12	그러므로, 형제자매 여러분, 우리는 빚진 사람들이지만, 그렇다고 육신에 빚을 져서 육신을 따라 살아가야 할 사람들은 아닙니다.	Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13	여러분이 육신을 따라 살아간다면 죽게 될 것이지만, 성령님을 힘입어 몸의 못된 행실들을 죽이면 살 것이기 때문입니다.	For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14	누구든 하나님의 영에 이끌려 가는 사람들, 이런 사람들은 하나님의 아들딸입니다.	For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15	여러분이 받은 것은, 다시 두려움에 떨게 하는 종살이의 영이 아닙니다. 오히려 여러분이 받은 것은 아들딸로 삼으시는 영입니다. 그 영을 힘입어 우리는 ‘압바’, 곧 ‘아버지!’ 하고 외칩니다.	For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16	그 영이 친히 우리 영과 함께 우리가 하나님의 자녀라는 사실을 증언하십니다.	The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17	자녀들이면, 상속자들이기도 합니다. 우리는 하나님의 상속자들이면서 그리스도와 공동 상속자들입니다. 참으로 우리가 영광을 함께 누리기 위해 고난도 함께 받는다면 말입니다.	And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18	장차 드러날 영광 내가 생각하기에, 사실 지금 이때의 고난은 장차 우리에게 나타날 영광에 견주면 아무것도 아닙니다.	For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19	창조물은 하나님의 아들딸들이 나타나는 것을 애타게 기다리고 있기 때문입니다.	For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20	허무하게 사라질 처지 아래로 창조물이 굴복하게 된 것은 스스로 원해서가 아니라 굴복하게 하신 분 때문이었습니다. 그래도 창조물은 희망 속에 있었습니다.	For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21	그 희망은 창조물 스스로도 썩어짐의 종살이에서 자유로워져서 하나님의 자녀들이 누릴 영광스러운 자유 속으로 들어가는 것입니다.	Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22	우리가 알다시피, 창조물 전체가 지금까지 함께 신음하며, 아이 낳는 고통을 함께 겪고 있습니다.	For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23	그뿐 아니라 성령님을 첫 열매로 받은 우리 자신들도 마찬가지입니다! 우리 자신들조차도 속으로 신음하며, 하나님의 아들딸로 입양되기를 애타게 기다리고 있습니다. 곧 우리 몸을 죄에서 완전히 풀어 주시기를 말입니다.	And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24	이 희망을 위해서 우리는 구원받았기 때문입니다. 보이는 희망은 희망이 아닙니다. 보고 있는 것을 누가 희망합니까?	For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25	우리는 아직 보지 못하는 것을 희망하므로, 견디면서 애타게 기다리고 있는 것입니다.	But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26	마찬가지로 성령님도, 나약한 우리를 도와주십니다. 무엇을 두고 마땅히 어떻게 기도해야 할지 우리는 알지 못하기 때문입니다. 그러나 성령님이 친히, 말로는 표현할 수 없는 탄식을 하시면서 우리를 위해 대신 간청해 주십니다.	Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27	마음을 자세히 살펴보시는 분은 성령님의 생각이 무엇인지를 아십니다. 하나님의 뜻에 맞게 성령님이 성도들을 위해서 대신 간청하고 계시기 때문입니다.	And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28	우리가 알다시피, 하나님을 사랑하는 사람들에게는 모든 것이 한데 어우러져 좋은 결과를 이룹니다. 곧 하나님이 미리 정해 두신 계획대로 부르심을 받은 사람들에게는요.	And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29	하나님은 미리 선택하신 사람들을 미리 정하시기를 그 아들의 모습과 같은 모양이 되게 하셨기 때문입니다. 이렇게 해서 그 아들이 많은 형제자매들 가운데서 맏이가 되도록 하셨던 것이지요.	For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30	하나님이 미리 정해 두신 사람들, 이들을 또한 부르셨습니다. 부르신 사람들, 이들을 또한 의롭다고 인정하셨습니다. 의롭다고 인정하신 사람들, 이들을 또한 영광스럽게 하셨습니다.	Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31	그 무엇도 하나님의 사랑에서 우리를 떼어 낼 수 없다 그렇다면 이런 일에 대하여 우리가 무슨 말을 해야 하겠습니까? 하나님이 우리를 위하시면, 누가 우리와 맞설 수 있겠습니까?	What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32	하나님은 자기 아들을 아끼지 않으시고 우리 모두를 위해 내주셨습니다. 그렇다면 당연히 그분이 그 아들과 함께 다른 모든 것도 우리에게 은혜의 선물로 베풀어 주시지 않겠습니까?	He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33	하나님이 선택하신 사람들을 누가 고발하겠습니까? 의롭다고 인정하시는 분은 하나님이십니다.	Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
34	유죄 판결을 내릴 수 있는 사람이 누구입니까? 그리스도 예수님은 죽으셨을 뿐만 아니라 일으킴받아 살아나신 분이십니다. 또한 하나님 오른쪽에 계시는 분으로, 우리를 위해서 대신 간청도 하시는 분이십니다.	Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35	누가 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 떼어 낼 수 있겠습니까? 고난이나 옥죔이나 박해나 굶주림이나 헐벗음이나 위험이나 칼입니까?	Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36	성경에 이렇게 적혀 있는 대로입니다. “주님 때문에 우리는 죽임을 당합니다, 온종일! 잡아 죽일 양처럼 여겨집니다.”	As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37	그러나 이 모든 상황 가운데서도 우리는 우리를 사랑하시는 분을 힘입어서 거뜬히 이겨 냅니다.	Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38	나는 확신하기 때문입니다. 그 무엇도 하나님의 사랑에서 우리를 떼어 낼 수 없으리라는 것을요. 죽음이나 생명이나 천사들이나 통치자들도요. 현재 일이나 장래 일이나 능력들도요.	For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39	높음이나 깊음이나 다른 어떤 창조물도요. 그 무엇도 그리스도 예수 우리 주님 안에 나타난 하나님의 사랑에서 우리를 떼어 낼 수 없을 것입니다.	Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
