절	새한글성경 (2024)	King James Version
1	감독의 자격 이 말씀은 믿을 만한 것이네. 누군가가 감독 직무를 열망한다면, 그는 좋은 일을 갈망하는 것일세.	This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2	그러므로 감독은 흠잡힐 데가 없어야 하며, 한 여자의 남편이어야 하네. 그에게는 절제력, 분별력, 존경받을 만함, 손님 대접하기를 좋아함, 잘 가르칠 수 있는 능력이 있어야 하네.	A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3	그는 포도주에 빠지지 않고 남을 괴롭히지 않아야 하네. 그 대신 너그럽고 싸우지 않고 돈을 좋아하지 않아야 하네.	Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4	자신의 가정을 잘 이끌어야 하고, 모든 면에서 고결함을 유지하면서, 자녀들이 도리를 지키게 해야 하네.	One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5	― 누군가가 자신의 가정을 잘 이끌 줄 모른다면, 그런 사람이 어떻게 하나님의 교회를 보살피겠나? ―	(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6	갓 입교한 사람도 안 되네. 그가 거들먹거리다가 마귀의 심판에 떨어지는 일이 없도록 해야 하네.	Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7	교회 바깥 사람들한테서도 평판이 좋은 사람이어야 하네. 그래야만 욕을 먹는 일과 마귀의 올가미에 떨어지는 일이 없을 걸세.	Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
8	집사의 자격 이와 마찬가지로 집사들도 고결하며, 한 입으로 두말하지 않으며, 포도주에 찌들지 않으며, 부끄러운 이득을 탐내지 않는 사람이어야 하네.	Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9	깨끗한 양심 속에 믿음의 비밀을 지니고 있는 사람이어야 하네.	Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10	이런 사람들을 먼저 검증해서 가려내야 하네. 그런 다음, 비난당할 것이 없는 것으로 확인된 경우에 집사로 섬기게 해야 하네.	And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11	이와 마찬가지로 여자들도 고결하며, 남을 헐뜯지 않으며, 절제력 있으며, 모든 면에서 믿을 만해야 하네.	Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
12	집사들은 한 여자의 남편이어야 하며, 자녀들과 자신의 가정을 잘 이끄는 사람이어야 하네.	Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13	집사로 잘 섬긴 사람은 좋은 평판을 얻게 된다네. 또 그리스도 예수님에 대한 믿음에 확신이 커진다네.	For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
14	우리 믿음의 기초이신 그리스도 찬양 내가 그대한테 빨리 가기를 희망하면서도 이런 것들을 그대에게 써 보내네.	These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
15	그것은 내가 가는 것이 늦어질 경우에 그대가 하나님의 집에서 어떻게 처신해야 하는지를 알도록 하기 위해서라네. 하나님의 집은 살아 계신 하나님의 교회이며, 진리의 기둥과 터전이네.	But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
16	다들 고백하다시피 경건의 비밀은 대단한 것이네. 그분은 육신을 입고 나타나셨네. 성령님 안에서 의롭다고 인정받으셨네. 천사들에게 나타나 보이셨네. 민족들 가운데 선포되셨네. 세상이 그분을 믿었네. 그분은 영광에 둘러싸여 들려 올라가셨네.	And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
