| 1 | 이 일들 뒤에 이러한 일이 있었더라. 예스르엘 사람 나봇이 예스르엘에 포도원을 가지고 있었는데 그것은 사마리아 왕 아합의 궁궐에서 매우 가까이 있더라. | And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. |
| 2 | 아합이 나봇에게 말하여 이르되, 네 포도원이 내 집에 가까이 있으니 그것을 내게 주어 내가 그것을 채소밭으로 삼게 하라. 내가 그것 대신 그것보다 더 좋은 포도원을 네게 줄 것이요, 혹시 네가 보기에 좋거든 내가 그것의 값을 돈으로 네게 주리라, 하매 | And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money. |

| 4 | 예스르엘 사람 나봇이 자기에게 한 말 즉 그가 말하여 이르기를, 내가 내 조상들의 상속 재산을 왕에게 주지 아니하리이다, 한 말로 인하여 아합이 근심하며 기뻐하지 아니하고 자기 집으로 돌아와 침상에 누워 얼굴을 돌리고 빵을 먹으려 하지 아니하니라. | And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread. |
| 5 | ¶그러나 그의 아내 이세벨이 그에게 나아와 그에게 이르되, 왕의 영이 어찌하여 이같이 슬프게 되어 왕께서 빵도 들지 아니하시나이까? 하매 | But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread? |
| 6 | 그가 그녀에게 이르되, 그 까닭은 내가 예스르엘 사람 나봇에게 말하며 그에게 이르기를, 돈을 받고 네 포도원을 내게 달라. 아니면 네가 기뻐하거든 내가 그것 대신 다른 포도원을 네게 주리라, 하였으되 그가 응답하기를, 내가 내 포도원을 왕에게 주지 아니하리이다, 하였기 때문이라, 하니 | And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard. |
| 7 | 그의 아내 이세벨이 그에게 이르되, 왕이 지금 이스라엘 왕국을 다스리시나이까? 일어나 빵을 드시고 마음을 즐겁게 하소서. 내가 예스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 왕에게 드리리이다, 하고는 | And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite. |
| 8 | 이에 그녀가 아합의 이름으로 편지를 쓰고 그의 인으로 봉인하고 나봇의 도시에서 그와 함께 거하던 장로들과 고귀한 자들에게 그 편지를 보내니라. | So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth. |
| 9 | 그녀가 편지에 써서 이르기를, 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉힌 뒤에 | And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people: |
| 10 | 벨리알의 아들 두 사람을 그 앞에 앉히고 그를 대적하여 증언하며 이르기를, 네가 하나님과 왕을 모독하였다, 하게 하고 그 뒤에 그를 끌고 나가 돌로 쳐서 죽이라, 하였더라. | And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die. |
| 11 | 그의 도시의 사람들 곧 그의 도시의 거주민들인 장로들과 고귀한 자들이 이세벨이 자기들에게 보낸 대로 곧 그녀가 자기들에게 보낸 편지에 쓴 대로 행하여 | And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them. |
| 12 | 금식을 선포하고 나봇을 백성 가운데 높이 앉히매 | They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people. |
| 13 | 벨리알의 자손 두 사람이 들어와 그 앞에 앉으니라. 그 벨리알의 사람들이 백성 앞에서 그를 곧 나봇을 대적하여 증언하며 이르기를, 나봇이 하나님과 왕을 모독하였다, 하매 이에 그들이 그를 도시 밖으로 끌고 나가 돌로 쳐서 죽이고 | And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died. |
| 14 | 그 뒤에 이세벨에게 사람을 보내어 이르기를, 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었나이다, 하니라. | Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead. |
| 15 | ¶이세벨이 나봇이 돌에 맞아 죽었다는 것을 듣고 아합에게 이르되, 일어나 예스르엘 사람 나봇이 돈을 받고 왕에게 주기를 거부하던 포도원을 소유로 취하소서. 나봇이 살아 있지 아니하고 죽었나이다, 하니 | And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead. |
| 16 | 나봇이 죽었다는 것을 아합이 듣고 일어나 예스르엘 사람 나봇의 포도원을 소유로 취하려고 거기로 내려갔더라. | And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it. |
| 17 | ¶주의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하니라. 이르시되, | And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, |
| 18 | 일어나 내려가서 사마리아에 있는 이스라엘 왕 아합을 만나라. 보라, 그가 나봇의 포도원을 소유하려고 거기로 내려가 거기에 있나니 | Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it. |
| 19 | 너는 그에게 말하여 이르기를, 주가 이같이 말하노라. 네가 죽이고 또 소유로 빼앗았느냐? 하고 또 그에게 말하여 이르기를, 주가 이같이 말하노라. 개들이 나봇의 피를 핥은 곳에서 개들이 네 피 곧 네 피도 핥으리라, 하라. | And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the Lord, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine. |
| 20 | 아합이 엘리야에게 이르되, 오 내 원수여, 네가 나를 찾았느냐? 하니 그가 대답하되, 내가 너를 찾았노라. 네가 네 자신을 팔아 주의 눈앞에서 악을 행하였으므로 | And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the Lord. |
| 21 | 보라, 내가 재앙을 네게 내려 네 후손을 없애되 담에다 소변보는 자와 이스라엘 안에 갇힌 자나 남은 자를 아합에게서 끊어 버릴 것이요, | Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, |
| 22 | 또 네 집을 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 집같이 되게 하고 아히야의 아들 바아사의 집같이 되게 하리니 이는 네가 내 분노를 일으키려고 나를 자극하고 이스라엘로 하여금 죄를 짓게 하였기 때문이니라. | And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin. |
| 23 | 또 이세벨에 관하여도 주께서 말씀하여 이르시되, 개들이 예스르엘 성벽 옆에서 이세벨을 먹으리라. | And of Jezebel also spake the Lord, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel. |
| 24 | 아합에게 속한 자로 도시에서 죽는 자는 개들이 먹고 들에서 죽는 자는 공중의 날짐승들이 먹으리라, 하셨느니라, 하니라. | Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat. |
| 25 | ¶그러나 아합과 같이 자신을 팔아 주의 눈앞에서 악을 행한 자가 아무도 없었으니 그의 아내 이세벨이 그를 부추겼더라. | But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the Lord, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. |
| 26 | 그가 주께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 아모리 족속이 행한 모든 것에 따라 우상들을 따르는 일에서 매우 가증하게 행하였더라. | And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel. |
| 27 | 아합이 그 말씀들을 들을 때에 자기 옷을 찢고 굵은 베를 몸에 두르며 금식하고 굵은 베에 눕고는 천천히 가니라. | And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly. |
| 28 | 주의 말씀이 디셉 사람 엘리야에게 임하니라. 이르시되, | And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, |
| 29 | 아합이 내 앞에서 겸손히 행하는 것을 네가 보느냐? 그가 내 앞에서 겸손히 행하였으므로 내가 그의 시대에는 재앙을 내리지 아니하고 그의 아들의 시대에 그의 집에 재앙을 내리리라, 하셨더라. | Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house. |
