1	가나의 혼인 잔치 이런 일이 있은 지 사흘째 되던 날 갈릴래아 지방 가나에 혼인 잔치가 있었다. 그 자리에는 예수의 어머니도 계셨고	And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2	예수도 그의 제자들과 함께 초대를 받고 와 계셨다.	And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3	그런데 잔치 도중에 포도주가 다 떨어지자 예수의 어머니는 예수께 포도주가 떨어졌다고 알렸다.	And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4	예수께서는 어머니를 보시고 "어머니, 그것이 저에게 무슨 상관이 있다고 그러십니까? 아직 제 때가 오지 않았습니다." 하고 말씀하셨다.	Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5	그러자 예수의 어머니는 하인들에게 "무엇이든지 그가 시키는 대로 하여라." 하고 일렀다.	His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6	유다인들에게는 정결 예식을 행하는 관습이 있었는데 거기에는 그 예식에 쓰이는 두세 동이들이 돌항아리 여섯 개가 놓여 있었다.	And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7	예수께서 하인들에게 "그 항아리마다 모두 물을 가득히 부어라." 하고 이르셨다. 그들이 여섯 항아리에 물을 가득 채우자	Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8	예수께서 "이제는 퍼서 잔치 맡은 이에게 갖다 주어라." 하셨다. 하인들이 잔치 맡은 이에게 갖다 주었더니	And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9	물은 어느새 포도주로 변해 있었다. 물을 떠간 그 하인들은 그 술이 어디에서 났는지 알고 있었지만 잔치 맡은 이는 아무것도 모른 채 술맛을 보고 나서 신랑을 불러	When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10	"누구든지 좋은 포도주는 먼저 내놓고 손님들이 취한 다음에 덜 좋은 것을 내놓는 법인데 이 좋은 포도주가 아직까지 있으니 웬일이오!" 하고 감탄하였다.	And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11	이렇게 예수께서는 첫 번째 기적을 갈릴래아 지방 가나에서 행하시어 당신의 영광을 드러내셨다. 그리하여 제자들은 예수를 믿게 되었다.	This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
12	이 일이 있은 뒤에 예수께서는 어머니와 형제들과 제자들과 함께 가파르나움에 내려가셨으나 거기에 여러 날 머물러 계시지는 않았다. (; ; )	After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.
13	성전 정화 유다인들의 과월절이 가까워지자 예수께서는 예루살렘에 올라가셨다.	And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
14	그리고 성전 뜰에서 소와 양과 비둘기를 파는 장사꾼들과 환금상들이 앉아 있는 것을 보시고	And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
15	밧줄로 채찍을 만들어 양과 소를 모두 쫓아내시고 환금상들의 돈을 쏟아버리며 그 상을 둘러엎으셨다.	And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
16	그리고 비둘기 장수들에게 "이것들을 거두어가라. 다시는 내 아버지의 집을 장사하는 집으로 만들지 마라." 하고 꾸짖으셨다.	And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.
17	이 광경을 본 제자들의 머리에는 '하느님이시여, 하느님의 집을 아끼는 내 열정이 나를 불사르리이다.' 하신 성서의 말씀이 떠올랐다.	And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
18	그 때에 유다인들이 나서서 "당신이 이런 일을 하는데, 당신에게 이럴 권한이 있음을 증명해 보시오. 도대체 무슨 기적을 보여주겠소?" 하고 예수께 대들었다.	Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
19	예수께서는 "이 성전을 허물어라. 내가 사흘 안에 다시 세우겠다." 하고 대답하셨다.	Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20	그들이 예수께 "이 성전을 짓는 데 사십육 년이나 걸렸는데, 그래 당신은 그것을 사흘이면 다시 세우겠단 말이오?" 하고 또 대들었다.	Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
21	그런데 예수께서 성전이라 하신 것은 당신의 몸을 두고 하신 말씀이었다.	But he spake of the temple of his body.
22	제자들은 예수께서 죽었다가 부활하신 뒤에야 이 말씀을 생각하고 비로소 성서의 말씀과 예수의 말씀을 믿게 되었다.	When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
23	사람의 마음을 들여다보시는 예수 예수께서는 과월절을 맞아 예루살렘에 머무르시는 동안 여러 가지 기적을 행하셨는데, 많은 사람들이 그것을 보고 예수를 믿게 되었다.	Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
24	그러나 예수께서는 그들에게 마음을 주지 않으셨다. 그것은 사람들을 너무나 잘 아실 뿐만 아니라	But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25	누구에 대해서도 사람의 말은 들어보실 필요가 없으셨기 때문이다. 예수께서는 사람의 마음속까지 꿰뚫어 보시는 분이었다.	And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
