절	공동번역 개정판 (1999)	King James Version
1	사르디스 교회에 보내는 말씀 사르디스 교회의 천사에게 이 글을 써서 보내어라. 하느님의 일곱 영신과 일곱 별을 가지신 분이 말씀하신다. '나는 네가 한 일을 잘 알고 있다. 네가 살아 있다는 말이 있지만 실상 너는 죽었다.	And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
2	그러므로 깨어나거라. 너에게 아직 남아 있는 것이 완전히 숨지기 전에 힘을 북돋아 주어라. 나는 네가 하는 일이 내 하느님께서 보시기에 완전하다고 생각하지는 않는다.	Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
3	그러므로 네가 그 가르침을 어떻게 받았으며 어떻게 들었는지를 되새겨 그것을 굳게 지켜라. 그리고 네 잘못을 뉘우쳐라. 만일 네가 깨어 있지 않으면 내가 도둑처럼 너에게 나타날 것이다. 그리고 너는 내가 어느 때에 너에게 나타날지를 결코 알지 못할 것이다.	Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
4	그러나 사르디스에는 자기 옷을 더럽히지 않은 사람이 몇 있다. 그들은 하얀 옷을 입고 나와 함께 다니게 될 것이다. 그들에게는 그럴 만한 자격이 있다.	Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
5	승리하는 자는 이와 같이 흰 옷을 입을 것이며 나는 생명의 책에서 그의 이름을 결코 지워버리지 않을 것이다. 그리고 나의 아버지와 천사들 앞에서 그를 안다고 증언할 것이다.	He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
6	귀 있는 자는 성령께서 여러 교회에 하시는 말씀을 들어야 한다.'	He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
7	필라델피아 교회에 보내는 말씀 필라델피아 교회의 천사에게 이 글을 써서 보내어라. 거룩하신 분, 참되신 분, 다윗의 열쇠를 가지신 분, 여시면 닫을 자가 없고, 닫으시면 열 자가 없는 분이 말씀하신다.	And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
8	'나는 네가 한 일을 잘 알고 있다. 네 힘은 비록 미약하지만 너는 내 말을 잘 지켰으며 나를 모른다고 부인한 일이 없다. 그러므로 나는 이제 너를 위해서 문을 열어놓았다. 그리고 아무도 그 문을 닫을 수 없다.	I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9	사탄의 무리에 속하는 자들이 자칭 유다인이라고 떠들어대지만, 그들은 거짓말을 하고 있는 것이다. 그래서 나는 그들로 하여금 너에게 나와서 네 발 앞에 엎드려 너를 경배하게 하겠으며 내가 너를 사랑한다는 것을 알게 하겠다.	Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10	참고 견디라는 내 명령을 너는 잘 지켰다. 그러므로 이 세상에 사는 사람들을 시험하기 위해서 앞으로 온 세계에 환난이 닥쳐올 때에 나는 너를 보호해 주겠다.	Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11	내가 곧 갈 터이니 너는 네가 가진 것을 굳게 지켜 아무에게도 네 월계관을 빼앗기지 않도록 하여라.	Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
12	나는 승리하는 자를 내 하느님의 성전 기둥으로 삼을 것이며, 그가 다시는 그 성전을 떠나지 않게 될 것이다. 나는 내 하느님의 이름과 내 하느님의 도성의 이름, 곧 하늘에서 내 하느님께로부터 내려오는 새 예루살렘의 이름과 나의 새로운 이름을 그 이기는 자 위에 새기겠다.	Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
13	귀 있는 자는 성령께서 여러 교회에 하시는 말씀을 들어야 한다.'	He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
14	라오디게이아 교회에 보내는 말씀 라오디게이아 교회의 천사에게 이 글을 써서 보내어라. 아멘이시며 진실하시고 참되신 증인이시며 하느님의 창조의 시작이신 분이 말씀하신다.	And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15	'나는 네가 한 일을 잘 알고 있다. 너는 차지도 않고 뜨겁지도 않다. 차라리 네가 차든지, 아니면 뜨겁든지 하다면 얼마나 좋겠느냐!	I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16	그러나 너는 이렇게 뜨겁지도, 차지도 않고 미지근하기만 하니 나는 너를 입에서 뱉어버리겠다.	So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17	너는 스스로 부자라고 하며 풍족하여 부족한 것이 조금도 없다고 말하지만 사실은 네 자신이 비참하고 불쌍하고 가난하고 눈멀고 벌거벗었다는 것을 깨닫지 못하고 있다.	Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18	그러므로 나는 너에게 권고한다. 너는 나에게서 불로 단련된 금을 사서 부자가 되고 나에게서 흰 옷을 사서 입고 네 벌거벗은 수치를 가리고 또 안약을 사서 눈에 발라 눈을 떠라.	I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19	나는 내가 사랑하는 자일수록 책망도 하고 징계도 한다. 그러므로 너는 열심히 노력하고 네 잘못을 뉘우쳐라.	As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20	들어라. 내가 문 밖에 서서 문을 두드리고 있다. 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 문을 열면 나는 그 집에 들어가서 그와 함께 먹고, 그도 나와 함께 먹게 될 것이다.	Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21	승리하는 자는 마치 내가 승리한 후에 내 아버지와 함께 아버지의 옥좌에 앉은 것같이 나와 함께 내 옥좌에 앉게 하여주겠다.	To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22	귀 있는 자는 성령께서 여러 교회에 하시는 말씀을 들어야 한다.'"	He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
