| 1 | တဖန် တေမန်အမျိုးသား ဧလိဖတ်မြွက်ဆိုသည် ကား၊ | Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said, |
| 2 | လူသည် မိမိပညာအားဖြင့် မိမိအကျိုးကို ပြုစုသကဲ့သို့ ဘုရားသခင်၌ ကျေးဇူးပြုနိုင်သလော။ | Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself? |
| 3 | သင်၏ဖြောင့်မတ်ခြင်းအားဖြင့်၊ အနန္တတန်ခိုး ရှင်သည် ကျေးဇူးရှိတော်မူသလော။ သင်၏အကျင့်၌ အပြစ်မပါကြောင်းကို ထင်ရှားစေသောအားဖြင့် အကျိုး စီးပွါးရှိတော်မူသလော။ | Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect? |
| 4 | သင့်ကိုကြောက်ရွံ့သောကြောင့် ဆုံးမပေးတော် မူမည်လော။ သင်နှင့်တရားတွေ့တော်မူမည်လော။ | Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment? |
| 5 | သင်ပြုသော ဒုစရိုက်သည် အလွန်ကြီးသည် မဟုတ်လော။ သင့်အပြစ်တို့သည် မရေတွက်နိုင်အောင် များပြားသည်မဟုတ်လော။ | Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite? |
| 6 | သင်သည်ညီအစ်ကိုပေါင်ထားသော ဥစ္စာကို မတရားသဖြင့် ခံယူပြီ။ ဆင်းရဲသောသူတို့၏ အဝတ်ကို လည်း ချွတ်ယူပြီ။ | For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing. |
| 7 | မောသောသူသောက်ဘို့ ရေကိုမပေး။ ငတ်မွတ်သောသူကိုမကျွေး။ | Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry. |
| 8 | အားကြီးသောသူမူကားမြေကို ပိုင်ရ၏။ ဂုဏ်အသရေရှိသော သူသည် နေရသောအခွင့်ကိုရ၏။ | But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it. |
| 9 | သင်သည် မုတ်ဆိုးမတို့ကို လက်ချည်းလွှတ်လိုက်၍၊ မိဘမရှိသော သူငယ်တို့၏လက်ကိုချိုးပြီ။ | Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken. |
| 10 | ထိုကြောင့် ကျော့ကွင်းနှင့် ကျော့မိပြီ၊ ထိတ်လန့်သောစိတ်နှင့် ပင်ပန်းရ၏။ | Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee; |
| 11 | မမြင်နိုင်သောမှောင်မိုက်သည် ညှဉ်းဆဲ၍၊ ပြင်းစွာစီးသောရေသည် လွှမ်းမိုးရ၏။ | Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee. |
| 12 | ဘုရားသခင်သည် ကောင်းကင်ဘဝဂ်ပေါ်မှာ ရှိတော်မူသည်မဟုတ်လော။ ကြယ်တို့သည် အဘယ်မျှ လောက်မြင့်ကြသည်တကား။ | Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are! |
| 13 | သို့ဖြစ်၍သင်က၊ ဘုရားသခင်သည် အဘယ်သို့ သိတော်မူမည်နည်း။ ထူသောတိမ်တိုက်ကွယ်လျက်နှင့် စီရင်တော်မူနိုင်မည်လော။ | And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud? |
| 14 | မမြင်နိုင်အောင် ထူထပ်သောတိမ်တို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်ကို လွှမ်းမိုးကြ၏။ ကောင်းကင်စကြဝဠာ ထိပ်ပေါ်မှာ လှည့်လည်တော်မူသည်ဟု ဆိုတတ်၏။ | Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven. |
| 15 | ကာလအချိန်မစေ့မှီ ဖျက်ဆီးခြင်း၊ ရေလွှမ်းမိုး၍၊ | Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden? |
| 16 | အခြေအမြစ်ပယ်ရှင်းခြင်းကို ခံရသောသူတည်းဟူသော ဘုရားသခင်အား ငါတို့ထံမှ ထွက်သွားလော့ဟူ ၍၎င်း၊ အနန္တတန်ခိုးရှင်သည် ငါ့တို့အဘို့အဘယ်သို့ ပြုနိုင်သနည်းဟူ၍၎င်း၊ | Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood: |
| 17 | ဆိုတတ်သော အဓမ္မ လူတို့လိုက်ဘူး သောလမ်းဟောင်းကို သင်သည်လိုက်ဦးမည်လော။ | Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them? |
| 18 | သို့ရာတွင် ဘုရားသခင်သည် သူတို့အိမ်ကို ကောင်းသောအရာနှင့် ပြည့်စေတော်မူ၏။ မတရားသော သူတို့၏ အကြံအစည်ကို ငါသည် ဝန်မခံ။ | Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me. |
| 19 | ဖြောင့်မတ်သောသူတို့သည် ကြည့်မြင်၍ ဝမ်းမြောက်ကြ၏။ အပြစ်ကင်းသောသူတို့သည် ထိုအဓမ္မလူ တို့ကို ကဲ့ရဲ့တတ်ကြ၏။ | The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn. |
| 20 | အကယ်စင်စစ်ငါတို့ရန်သူသည် ပျက်စီးလေပြီ။ သူ၏စည်းစိမ်ကို မီးလောင်လေပြီဟု ဆိုရကြ၏။ | Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth. |
| 21 | ဘုရားသခင်နှင့် အကျွမ်းဝင်၍ မိဿဟာယဖွဲ့လော့။ ထိုသို့ပြုမှ ကောင်းစားခြင်းသို့ ရောက်ရလိမ့်မည်။ | Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. |
| 22 | နှုတ်တော်ထွက်တရားကို ခံယူ၍ စကားတော်ကို နှလုံး၌သွင်းပါလော့။ | Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart. |
| 23 | အနန္တတန်ခိုးရှင်ထံတော်သို့ ပြန်လာလျှင်၊ တည်ဆောက်ခြင်းရှိလိမ့်မည်။ သင့်အိမ်မှဒုစရိုက်ကို ပယ်ရှား လျှင်၊ | If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles. |
| 24 | ရွှေကိုမြေမှုန့်ကဲ့သို့၎င်း၊ ဩဖိရရွှေကို မြစ်၌ ရှိသောကျောက်စရစ် ကဲ့သို့၎င်းသိုထားရလိမ့်မည်။ | Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks. |
| 25 | ထိုအခါအနန္တတန်ခိုးရှင်သည် သင်၌ရွှေရတနာ၊ သင်သုံးရသော ငွေဘဏ္ဍာဖြစ်တော်မူလိမ့်မည်။ | Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver. |
| 26 | သင်သည်အနန္တတန်ခိုးရှင်၌ မွေ့လျော်၍၊ ဘုရားသခင်ကို ဖူးမြော်ရသောအခွင့်ရှိလိမ့်မည်။ | For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God. |
| 27 | သင်ဆုတောင်းသောအခါ နားထောင်တော်မူ မည်။ သစ္စာဂတိထားသည်အတိုင်း၊ သစ္စာဝတ်ဖြေရသော အခွင့်ရှိလိမ့်မည်။ | Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. |
| 28 | သင်ကြံစည်သောအကြံအစည်သည် ထမြောက် ၍၊ သင်သွားသောလမ်း၌ ရောင်ခြည်ထွန်းလိမ့်မည်။ | Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. |
| 29 | သူတပါးတို့သည် နှိမ့်ချခြင်းကိုခံရသောအခါ၊ သင်ကချီးမြှောက်သောအခွင့်ရှိသည်ဟု ဆိုရလိမ့်မည်။ စိတ်နှိမ့်ချသောသူကို ကယ်တင်တော်မူလိမ့်မည်။ | When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. |
| 30 | အပြစ်မကင်းသောသူကိုပင် ကယ်နှုတ်တော်မူလိမ့်မည်။ သင်ပြုသောအမှု သန့်ရှင်းသောအားဖြင့် သူသည်ကယ်တင်ခြင်းသို့ ရောက်လိမ့်မည်ဟုမြွက်ဆို၏။ | He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands. |
